Was in the area Monday and stopped by to grab a cafecito. This is a very cute cafe. The staff was very helpful providing some great suggestions. Very chill vibes. Went with my friends got the strawberry matcha it was okay. I felt the strawberry syrup needed more flavor it was definitely just syrup they added and made quick. The vegan strawberry pop tart was bomb they warned it up and that was good thankfully. Service was quick, friendly, Social, and understanding it was my first time Ambiance was beautiful!!! I love trying new matcha spots and I tried their seasonal strawberry matcha and it was soooo yummy. ive only been there once or twice for it but I crave that matcha to this day. its a perfect balance of matcha, milk and sweetness and the strawberry puree they add with the matcha was so complementary. read more

Stopped by as I saw the sign driving into the shopping center. The place is so cute! The girl taking my order was so sweet and helpful. She was patient with all my questions and was recommending to reduce the sweetness if I didn't like super sweet drinks. I don't and I am glad she told me that before ordering. I ordered the bloom and berry late with reduced strawberry puree. It was still very delicious even with less strawberry pure. I found out they also serve brunch so my next visit will be for brunch. Tried this place post walk. The store is super cute, 10/10 for vibes, everything is very aesthetically pleasing and coordinated very well. Staff were very kind, only two gals working and they seemed to be coordinating pretty well. I ordered an iced Nectar (espresso, honey, cinnamon, oat milk) and it was solid, nothing super standout or fancy. The coffee didn't blow me away, but I am curious to try the baked goods, which looked very yummy in the case, next time I go. read more

Took the kids out for a daddy-kid date and brought them here after the library. I needed a pick me upper. instantly felt like I walked into a warm hug with good lighting. The owner (I'm pretty sure it was her) came over, chatted with us, and radiated pure sweetness. Got myself a nice drink and some sandwiches both hit the spot like a cozy Sunday afternoon. Flora Cafe is a quiet and neat cafe where you can dine-in for a breakfast and brunch, or grab a coffee or tea. They offer good selection of breakfast, sandwiches and salads. They have some unique specialty drinks and I tried their Citrina which is a mix of espresso, spiced brown sugar, and orange zest. It was surprisingly good mix and very tasteful. I usually don't go to Bonita for anything but I had a work assignment in the area and checked Yelp for a place to have avocado toast and coffee. And found beautiful velvety Flora! I love how clean, quite spacious and feminine this cafe is...but what I like most is NO laptops. Only women enjoying their lattes, their croissants, their friends. Nice nice atmosphere. One of the most beautiful, artsy bathrooms I have seen lately (of course brought the camera with me:). My capuccino was perfect and so was my avocado toast but I found it pricey for what it was, considering there was no egg and not much avocado content. Presentation very nice. Have ordered a to-go salad from Flora before, but I asked my hubby if we could go here for a quick date a couple weekends ago and I think we enjoyed it...? We were both pretty low energy since we had a busy Saturday prior but we had a good, slow morning here. First you place your order at the counter and then let the cashier know if you're going to have a to-go order or dine in. To note, we thought we could sit at the tables outside but they're more of a general sitting area as there are a couple food spots right next to each other in this plaza so if you are dining in, you're limited to only indoor seating. You can however, order to-go and choose to sit right outside if you please. The decor is very cute-sy, with bright colors and florals and pretty dishware to match. I ordered the lavender matcha and my fave kale-quinoa salad from there. Hubby ordered the Dahlia and a chicken pesto panini. Both were excellent choices, beautifully light but still flavorful. Our drinks also hit the spot and were refreshing as well. I personally am only giving 4 stars because I wish there were a couple more choices I can choose from, but I know this is a smaller cafe. I do also need to try their pastries. I did find myself staring at the pastries case but I didn't want to pull the trigger since my meal as is already had me full. I had to try this place since I've had this place bookmarked in my Yelp ever since it opened! Love the floral decor, refreshing drinks, and yummy pastries. What we had - Citrina - This latte was super refreshing with notes of orange. Perfect drink for the summer. Lemon Zinger with Lavender syrup - Love this combo! Highly recommend Carrot Cake Croissant- First time I've had this and this was so good! Greek Chicken Wrap - This also comes with a side salad. This dish has a little too much olives for our taste but otherwise it was a great dish to share. Tip - 90 minute dining limit due to limited seating available. Beautiful, little café that has several matcha and coffee drinks. There's also food options if you like to eat but I got a Coconut Matcha. It was good! Coconut water and matcha, if you're not a coconut fan or, matcha without milk isn't your thing you probably wouldn't like this. Not gonna lie, I liked this place before today probably solid 3.5-4. I ordered a chicken Panini. And they brought me a chicken wrap. I told the person. Up front they said they'll remake it and keep both. I thought well that's nice since I just waiting 20 min. The person who brought it was hopefully not the owner. She was an angry short Mexican lady (hopefully they can identify her with my description and keep her from the public) who snatched my wrong order from my table and gave me the panini. I explained the front said to keep both. With attitude she said no this is your "wrong order" and emphasized like she was using air quotes while talking. She rolled her eyes, just turned around, and walked to the back, I can see her toss my food aggressively on the table in the back. Not good for business I'll probably not be back. read more

This place is so cute and you would never expect it to be in this shopping center! It's right next to Everbowl and Vons - a charming place with yummy food and drinks! I got the prosciutto sandwich which was a bit oily and salty but I chowed down. It does come with a side salad to make it healthier! My friend got the chai, the chocolate pastry and a yogurt bowl. All of it looked delicious and beautiful! The atmosphere was really what made it nice. There's ample seating inside and even outside, but I'm gonna say the inside is a lot cuter! They also have a variety of specialty drinks that I really wanted to try, but I just wanted to sandwich this time. There's a lot of Matcha options like a pomegranate Matcha that intrigued me. This is the cutest cafe. Bonita was so excited to welcome something fresh and much needed! I have been about five times. Three times for a grab and go drink and two sit down meet ups. I have given the benefit of the doubt, tried different items and continue to be disappointed. Today was my last visit. Friends and I came and I was the only one to order because they were previously underwhelmed or disappointed in service as mentioned in other recent reviews. Two hand written signs indicated they were closing early and one said they were out of matcha. I ordered a chai latte. It was super spicy. Starbucks also does a spicy chai, but this was a spicy watered down small 12 oz ish drink that I left untouched. My friend offered to return it. When I decided to go in I continued to regret wasting the energy to recover. I indicated it was spicy and asked for an alternative. She reccomended two espresso drinks, but I dont drink coffee. I asked if I could get one of two pressed juices and she said they didn't have any left. She offered a free coffee in the future and I said no thank you. I requested she refund my $10.87 purchase. She asked me when I purchased it and I said according to my phone's Apple Pay 15 mins ago. She said but you dont have the receipt? I showed her my phone. She then took a cell phone call. Then she said she needed to give someone else their drink. So I said I'll be outside if you want to come grab me. She never did, and maintenance workers asked my friends and I if we could move bc they were unbolting/removing all outdoor tables and chairs from the shopping center. Customers from Everbowl and Jersey Mikes were also uprooted and left standing with their food. We all left disappointed and I can't believe I spent almost $11 on spicy iced water :( read more

Ok, ok, ok. I stepped into this place and was immediately in love with the decor as it is very inviting. I see that they have music playing as well so that is a huge plus. I was looking at their menu before coming here to get an idea of what to get and I was looking to try the strawberry matcha as by the pictures it looked pretty good. I ordered it and it was about 7 dollars and change. It's a bit on the pricy side so hence, 4 stars. Orders took a bit to be ready as well. The staff was very friendly though. Would be nice to have a big menu display in the front while you wait instead of waiting to the counter to see what they have. Overall 4 stars for the decor, taste, and service. To get that 5 star just work on the prices and better menu presentation. read more

I'll definitely be returning! Such a cute spot to hangout with the gals! WiFi is available so it's a great location for remote work. This is a great little cafe addition to Bonita! Laid back vibes with a variety of brunch, bakery, and drink menu items. I ordered the matcha latte with brown sugar (10/10) and sourdough cinnamon roll (6.5/10). The matcha latte was flavorful with the brown sugar and tasted very smooth. The sourdough cinnamon roll is not like a traditional cinnamon roll as the sourdough makes it more like a flakey pastry. Flora Cafe has a lot of potential. Such a cute cafe. Much needs in the area for a quick pick me up or sit in healthy breakfast spot. The ambiance is great very cute pick decor and velvet seating against the wall. I absolutely love the wallpaper is makes the space so inviting. They restroom is also very cute with the decor selection. Service was great. The employees was very attentive to the customers. The cashier informed us the pastries are made in-house. I ordered the oatmeal and my husband ordered the breakfast sandwich. The oatmeal was definitely on the fresh side as in not sweet, but they added to dates the hint of sweetness to it. I personally like my oatmeal a little bit more on the sweet side using milk instead of water. The breakfast sandwich looked delicious. I also ordered a Matcha latte, and that was the perfect sweetness. The café is located in a plaza, so there is plenty of parking and outdoor seating provided by the plaza. Came twice in the past two days bc the drinks were really good. Its a really cute, aesthetic spot. You can grab coffee, hang out or study with a 2 hr time limit bc the space is small. I solely came to try the coffee, but next time will dine in and try out their food. I like how their specialty coffee drinks are named after flowers. The first time I came I ordered the Peony with oat milk. It was super delicious bc of the balance of the coffee & hazelnut. You can tell they use quality espresso. This coffee shop and cafe is a great addition to Bonita - San Diego. They are offering excellent espresso based beverages and matcha lattes, not to mention some great eats as well. I've been here a couple of times, and I have had two cortados, the avocado toast, and a sourdough cinnamon roll. The cortados have been well made. They have been rich in flavor with a slight nutty finish. The basic avocado toast was delicious. It came on an artisan sourdough toast, freshly spread of avocado, cherry tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, lemon juice, salt, and tender mico greens for $11.95. The toast was vibrant and quite delicious. I do recommend this item. The sourdough cinnamon roll was unique to say the least. it was very flavorful and not overly sweet, with a hint of sourdough towards the end. The texture was different than most because it had a bit of a chew and elasticity. They warm it up and then put icing on top. The roll cost $5. Good stuff. The place is quite lovely inside. It offers plenty of seating inside and outside. They offer breakfast, lunch, and smoothies, too. The ladies who own and were here with their staff are all very nice and welcoming. read more

I was craving a matcha and came here on a whim after washing my dog in the same shopping complex. They had a menu outside of their storefront which was nice to see prior to entering. I ended up ordering a lavender matcha or "lilac" with almond milk and my got my husband a beet juice. I was greeted upon entrance and helped in a timely manner. The ambience is clean and trendy! If you consider coming in to eat, enjoy a beverage, or get work done here, there is a 90 minute limit time to sit in as they would like to give others an opportunity to enjoy the space in case it gets too crowded. I met my former supervisor here and while she had one of their hot signature bougie coffee offerings and a breakfast avocado toast of some sort, I just had a hot black Americano. I really liked this coffee shop! They use beans roasted by Cafe Moto, a very popular local roaster in San Diego. They weren't too busy, maybe only 2 other occupied tables during my visit. Their restroom was clean, service was friendly & hospitable, prices were consistent with other mom & pop coffee shops in the Bonita/Chula Vista area. The parking was plentiful as that west side parking area of the strip mall isn't too close to the Vons. The coffee was on point, sound inside the cafe wasn't too loud, and I would definitely visit again. read more

So are you looking for a nice little and quaint place to have some breakfast or lunch? Well look no further than Flora's Cafe. The ambiance inside is so nice, with a long velvet/velour bench and some comfortable chairs and solid stone looking tables, they have put some thought and effort into their aesthetic. But of course we come for the food and drinks, right? So they do have a pretty good selection of sandwiches, salads, and pastries. Their drink menu is also quite good and they also have their signature drinks and food. The place is always clean and neat, and so welcoming. My favorite sandwiches are the grilled cheese and the roast beef. I would have the roast beef more but I have to watch what I eat or i get gout. I love this place as they are so accommodating and also listened to some of my suggestions. When they first opened up they would just serve their sandwich with no side, just the sandwich. But i will say that they do charge a fair amount, and for that amount it would be nice to have something else on the side. So my suggestion was to either derive a little house salad or some chips to fill out the plate and to add some texture to the meal. And to my surprise the next day they had added a little salad to the meal. And might i add I really don't like salads, but this one is very delicious, and adds a bit of different texture and some acidity to your meal. The drinks are nice and are made right there. They are always served in nice glassware if you are drinking there. I am not a big coffee drinker so I usually will go with a chai or some tea. I love that they will make it either hot or cold to your liking. I was a bit worried when they started up, as i thought that this was not a good time in the economy to open up a business. But they are doing remarkably well and they are quite busy most of the time. I love to see a place doing well, so when we climb up the stairs to go to work, we have a nice start to our day to see all the happy people inside eating and drinking. I wish they continued success, but I know they have found their niche and a good formula for success. read more

The food was good. But that's where it ends. The girl that was servicing our group had an attitude with us for no reason. She threw straws at us when she dropped the drinks at our table. The latte was made poorly and we complained about it and wanted to exchange it for something else. The worst part was when the owner came out with an attitude to see why we didn't like our drinks. She was highly offended and did not care to listen to our answers even though she asked us. She said that all her staff have an attitude and that's how it is. I will never go back to the shortly lived establishment to people that have poor attitudes towards paying customers. I hope the owner learns that a poor attitude toward customers and not caring about how their staffs treats others is not how you run a business. read more
