Love this coffee place located in National City. It is located in a shopping place with other businesses, next to a church with lots of parking. Place is big and has lots of tables where to sip uour coffee and/or work. Service is super fast, at least for a Friday at 11am. They have your regular coffee options plus some interesting Signature Drinks. They have a Charcoal Latte which has an interesting combination, really good but on a thick side of coffee. We ordered a regular Latte and their signature coffee Promise Land (with half the sweetener). It was delicious and with perfect touch of cinammon. They do offer some pastries. read more

Coffee was ok - got a cafe de olla. I usually love this drink at most any coffee shop. This one was lacking a bit though. Service was ok - friendly-ish but also kind of seemed the workers were a little distracted with each other lol. I stood there at the front counter for maybe 5 minutes before someone even acknowledged me. They were busy yes but not crazy busy, and most places the barista will at least smile and say "I'll be right with you". Seating was plentiful - probably the best thing about the place. It was fairly clean but there was some things that could've used a wipe down lol also would've been nice if there were outlets for computer chargers. A lot of past reviewers note a lack of urgency in the staff, distraction by their friends' conversation, and a lack of charging outlets indoors. I had a pretty good overall experience on my first visit to Home, and didn't experience any issue with the customer service at all. There was a short line when I arrived, so it took me about 5 minutes to order--not overly slow or annoying at all. I was greeted by a friendly cashier who took my order and I sat down nearby. While it's true that outlets indoors did appear few and far between, the seat itself was super comfy and could even recline. The interior aesthetic is comfortable and inviting, with calm whites, hints or green and brown, and plenty of space and seating. I worked for about 15 minutes on my laptop while waiting for a photoshoot I was hosting nearby. I ordered a cold brew to get a second quality check on the spot before leaving (I always do hot americano and cold brew first to check a new coffee spot's baseline). Both the americano and cold brew were really smooth, with balanced and consistent flavor profiles and a lot of depth. Good body on both, too. Overall, I give Home Coffee a 4.67/5. It's pretty solid on a lot of fronts, though I agree about the lack of outlets inside. Recommend checking out when looking for a good cup of coffee in National City. read more

When I'm in National City, Home Coffee is my go-to for coffee and to do work outside of the office. The servers are always friendly, and take care in making each drink. My favorite is the Promise Land, which is made with espresso, honey, milk, and cinnamon. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but i really like the decor and vibe inside. It is very common to see students and work from home professionals posted up with a laptop. We were craving Vietnamese coffee and found Home Coffee located in Sweetwater. The location is near LA fitness and I remember this place used to be an arcade center back in the early 1990s. We're glad that we found this place as they have a lot of selections of coffee. We tried the Vietnamese cold brew, banana cream latte and banana Matcha. The place inside is well kept and the staff members were very nice and welcoming. All the coffees we ordered were very refreshing. The sweetness is balanced and love the texture of the cream on each one of them. Price is also affordable. We will certainly stop by again next time. read more

Stopped in to Home Coffee the other day on my way to work. Although the coffee was delicious, what stood out most was the incredible customer service. I unfortunately dropped my coffee in my car when leaving (bad day for anyone) but I desperately needed the energy boost so I went back in to re-purchase and the sweet barista remade it for me on the house. afternoon for a quick pick‑me‑up. They're running a February specials menu, so I ordered the strawberry matcha with oat milk and upgraded to ceremonial matcha (which costs extra). The matcha itself was okay, but pretty bitter -- even for me. It didn't seem fully mixed, so the bitterness was concentrated at the bottom. The strawberry cold foam was very minimal and the flavor was faint. The space, however, is nice and big with plenty of seating, which is great for groups. I wish I would've come here sooner ! I got their iced black coffee and can confidently say it's so good. When I found out it had charcoal, cocoa, and coconut oil, I was definitely on edge at first - not gonna lie, but one sip in and I was completely sold. I fell in love fast. This place has great customer service and really good coffee. The decor inside is very inviting and warm. I was stuck between the casita and pistachio latte. I asked the barista for their opinion and I was given a full breakdown, it was amazing. I went with the pistachio latte, 1/2 sweet, with almond milk. It was fantastic. The nutty flavor of the pistachio paired really well with the flavor of the espresso and the suggestion from the barista to go 1/2 sweet was perfect. If you are a Macha person and this is your place, they have ceremonial Matcha I was really hesitant about what to order, but the staff was 10 out of 10 didn't feel rushed. My friend and I have discussed that this would be a perfect cafe to work from and that's what we did! We came around 9 on a Friday and there was plenty of seating and parking. I got an iced Tahitian vanilla latte and apple danish. The Tahitian vanilla was delicious, nicely sweet and strong! The apple danish was also tasty, not overly sweet and had lots of apple filling but only in the center. It is a great place to work or study as it's spacious, clean, and bright with lots of seating, free WiFi and a good ambiance. The only suggestion I would make is to add outlets inside. Good variety of specialty and traditional drinks and teas. The home sweet home tasted like a regular latte with a chai aftertaste. The matcha latte was good. No bitter taste and had a vibrant color. The cutest coffee shop right next to church! It's open and fun with out door seating available. Recommend the galactic cold brew (coco puff cereal) and the salted caramel latte goes down smooth. I've been coming to this location for some time but have stopped. Initially it was great spot with ample parking, but with the church & Texas Roadhouse, it's gotten busier. I loved the black latte bc it has a great nutty, thick texture. It was pretty filling. The place has gotten nicer with the added seating but I had incident where I brought outside food and I did purchase a coffee before enjoying my food inside. I was almost done eating my food when a barista came up to me & my husband and let us know we could not eat outside food in the store and we had to eat it outside. I said ok, I'm almost done and ate my last bite in front of her. She looked annoyed with me and walked away. I understand policy and will follow it if I happen to visit, but it was giving me a feeling of ick. Her tone was rude and it would've been nice to just to let us know the policy for next time we visit bc we didn't know. There wasn't any signage stating that. Then just let us finish our food bc we were basically done. Shoulda told me when I first came in. That interaction was strange & in my opinion not handled well bc her goal was to make us pick up all our stuff that was laid out on the table and go outside. Which at that point I was not going to do. Overall this place is good in terms of coffee & pastries. The place is nice and huge for studying and hanging out with friends. I probably won't be coming back. I can find another coffee spot but don't let that deter you. Have your own experience. read more

The Tahitian vanilla latte is so good! This is hands down my favorite coffee in San Diego.

Upon entering the coffee shop, it looks like a great place to study - there is ample seating, which started to fill up around noon on a Friday. Unfortunately, the WiFi did not work and I had to hotspot my phone to get work done. Also despite the plethora of seats, there were very limited wall plugs to charge laptop. It also didn't feel super clean, the seats and tables had crumbs and food scraps on them. The service was nice though and coffee came out quickly. My latte was overly sweet. read more
