Quaint, cozy, locally sourced ingredients- such a gem! We stopped in on a rainy afternoon to have wine a few apps. We loved the customized cheese plate and the bowl of mixed olives. One thing I will say is this is the best priced spot for the food!! The mixed olives was a truly decent bowl for $7 and honestly the olives were fantastic! The cheese plate had a few select options. The bartender asked us what we didn't like and what our preferences were. It was so nice to have such a citrates section with pickles, mustards, pickled mushrooms and goat cheese. If you are in or near the area, I can't recommend this place more!

Just the Cap my last review, it wasn't a fluke. This place is a hidden gem. Stopped in a late afternoon and throughly enjoyed a couple glasses of Cab and a board for one. The board again with fresh cheese, pepperoni, grapes and Wow. . Sugared Ginger! Seriously. The bright sunny atmosphere in the afternoon and outside seating adds to the unique charm. I'm hooked on this place.

I just come back from restaurant that my friends recommended. We have with my wife great drinks and charcuterie board. Great paring cheese and meats. Australian goat cheese with lavender it's something that we will no forget. I had great scotch whiskey and my wife dirty martini. Great atmosphere and friendly service. We recommend to try . We will go there soon to enjoy all: food, drink and atmosphereChef's Choice Charcuterie

Ok why is everyone giving this place 5 stars? I mean was I just unlucky this time around? I was in the area and I've been meaning to check this place out. I was hoping it to be an excellent experience, but boy was it not. From the moment I walked into this place to the moment I left, it was not a pleasant experience. I had one lady who was young pour me a water. They don't have actual menus. You have to scan the menu on your phone. They definitely had a nice selection of wines. I did end up trying a sparkling orange wine that was not good at all and did not have any bubbles so not sure how they can call it sparkling. I attempted to try another wine this time Red from Italy thinking that it was gonna be good and it was ok not great. I saw they had a Prosecco Rose on the menu and I just ordered that one because I know that one is good. I had nobody ask me how the wine was? Did you want any food? Nothing, it was pure silence and I was the only one in the bar with two bartenders and nobody approached me with any normal customer service or questions that you would normally ask when you're sitting at a bar or restaurant. I don't know how these places are surviving? Why do they act this way to customers? Don't they know that WE are the ones keeping their lights on. So why don't they treat us better? I will never ever come back here again. And, if you choose to that's perfectly fine as long as you have a better experience than me. Cheers!

Wife and I heard about this place opening before the pandemic so we didn't get a chance to try it out until tonight. Definitely worth the wait. The staff were very friendly and courteous even though they were keeping busy making drink after delicious drink for the incoming happy hour guests (happy hour in name only since I've learned it's illegal in Massachusetts ...what?!?!?). My wife and I each tried a cocktail and they were unique and perfect. Then we tried a glass of a Cabernet recommended by Collin and it was amazing. Coupled with some tasty cheese, bread and olives we couldn't be happier with our evening out. Looking forward to more great visits.

Best and drink food around, and best bar in the Boston area. First class!!! The owners also couldn't be any friendlier.

This is the best food, wine, and overall bar in Newton--hands down!!! The food is incredible, and the service is top notch. I'll be frequenting here a lot, and I'm so glad that a place like this finally opened nearby. The owner also couldn't be any friendlier. This place is amazing!!!!

Sweet sopressata and manchago cheese plate.

We finally got around to visiting Flora and now I'm wishing we would have gone sooner. Our server, Colin, started us out with a complimentary tasting of his favorite Cabernet, which was excellent. We opted for cocktails, and tried the Veronica Vaughn and the Medical Permit. We enjoyed both, but I think the Veronica Vaughn was the more interesting of the two. We originally intended to get the Roasted Veggie Antipasto and the Sweet Sopressata, but Colin suggested that they could put together a board with cheese as well. The board included a delightful manchago, assorted dried fruits, toasted nuts, marinated mushrooms, crostini and a fig jam that paired well with the cheese. A pair of chocolate-dipped madeleines arrived with our check, and they were soft and delicious. We can't wait to go back!

We ordered drinks, and one came quickly. had to ask another wait staff for remaining drinks 10 minutes later. Ordered appetizers, then placed main order. 15 minutes go by, and I see three dishes under heating lamp. Five minutes later those three dishes and another were brought to our table. My paccheri bolangnese was cold, and prepared with spacatelli pasta - waiter neglected to state out of all pastas but spacatelli. My wife's roasted chicken was very dry(too long under heating lamp?). My son ordered the spacatelli al pesto, but he was mistakenly given spacatelli bolognese. He prefers not to eat meat. We sent that back and ten minutes later he received his correct order. The restaurant was scheduled to close at 10 PM. I can only imagine service and choices given to people with later reservation. He spent all his time catering to group at the end of the bar. I had to get up and ask the waitress to check on my cheeseburger. The bartender just did not care. We walked into a spacious, contemporary space with a large bar and plenty of seating, the kind of place that works equally well for watching a game with friends or a relaxed dinner. The interior had a comfortable, polished energy that struck a balance between lively and approachable, and the extensive beer and whiskey selection added to the inviting atmosphere. The menu goes beyond typical bar food with a mix of elevated comfort dishes, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and seasonal entrées. We ordered a few items and found the Chilean sea bass standing out, paired with a flavorful sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it. The lamb with gnocchi was another popular choice, offering a hearty and well-balanced dish with tender meat and pillowy gnocchi that absorbed the rich sauce. The burgers were cooked to order and made a reliable option for something more casual, arriving juicy and well assembled. For drinks and appetizers, the calamari, burrata, and flatbreads were good options to share, each coming out fresh and well seasoned. The bar program was another highlight, with a wide selection of craft beers, whiskey, and classic cocktails that were well prepared and paired naturally with the food. Service was friendly and welcoming, with staff happy to make recommendations and accommodate different group sizes. While some visits could experience slower service during busy periods, the overall experience tended to be attentive, and the team worked to create a comfortable atmosphere for both families and larger groups. The pacing of the meal stayed steady, and the food came out without much delay. Parking is available in a small lot, though it could fill up during peak dining hours, and the restaurant's location near shopping on Needham Street made it a convenient stop before or after running errands. Overall, District 118 Kitchen & Bar is a solid choice for anyone looking for elevated pub fare in a relaxed setting. The combination of quality food, a strong drink selection, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it equally enjoyable for a casual lunch, dinner with family, or an evening out with friends.

The shopping center itself was nice and felt modern and clean. The parking lot had sufficient parking availability on a Tuesday night. I hadn't made reservations in advance but despite it being pretty busy, they were able to get us a table for 2 inside (there is some outdoor patio seating available). The service was friendly and helpful though not very proactive (but it was busy so understandable). The one major turnoff was the staff aggressively spraying cleaning solution onto nearby tables. That stuff can waft over to someone and set off an allergic reaction, it can get into food/drinks, and the chemical smell that lingered was not great for a higher-end restaurant. On the other hand, it was a clean restaurant! We got shrimp cocktail (they charge by the piece). It didn't come with the standard cocktail sauce - not sure what it was - maybe vinegar-based(?), but it was just OK - my friend didn't like the sauce at all but we thought the shrimp was good. We each ordered haddock with green beans and mashed potatoes. The haddock was nicely prepared with breadcrumbs on top and cooked such that it was still flaky, moist, and had a nice light flavor. Mashed potatoes were good (as other reviewers have noted), and the green beans were ok - maybe a bit undercooked. The team accommodated my friend's nut allergy by leaving off the almonds, which we appreciate! I didn't love the tomato confit but it wasn't bad. I'm glad that I could visit this beautiful restaurant! I hope that they can find a better way to keep the tables clean.
