Last review of 2025!!!…read more After a decade of going to the Bluff for yoga, I finally decided to give the studio a chance and I do not regret it! My buddy asked if I'd be down to try it out and I told him that I'd only go if it's a class lead by Matthew Purpura or Yoga Sue.... We went to a session under the guidance of the latter and she was amazing per usual. The vibe is definitely different... more intimate and you find yourself more easily able to leave the world behind and maintain your focus without the craziness of Ocean behind you and the beach in front of you like at the Bluff. This gift of yoga is made possible by donation, so bring some cash and a mat and treat yourself to this amazing experience. I will definitely be attending a class here regularly in 2026!

I hadn't taken a yoga class in years but with age taking its toll, a gentle sustained stretch and relaxation class like the Ground & Restore seemed just the ticket. They have a wide variety of classes, though, for every level and interest--check out their website for details. You sign in at the front desk and pay your instructor directly (Venmo or cash). They are a donation-based studio, which makes their classes very affordable. The facility has been around for a while--maybe since the 1970s?--but is clean and well-maintained. You put your shoes in a cubby by the main studio before entering. The main studio is roomy and serene, with a large window on one side, which looks out on to the courtyard. There are cupboards in the back with blocks, blankets, and straps, and a small room off to the side with more cubbies for your other stuff, like bags, jackets, etc. I've been really enjoying my classes at this studio, and go every chance I get. BTW, this is the studio behind the famous yoga on the bluffs in Bluff Park overlooking the beach, if outdoor yoga is more your thing.

More morning weekday yoga classes, please & thank you. (but also just getting back into yoga and I know we change the schedule quarterly. ) 2. Re: Mckenzie C. I just took her express scalp class. Please have Mckenzie teach more of these express sculpt classes. The energy she brings is phenomenal. The way she instructs the class also keeps my brain locked in. And she actually gives a lot of good facts during, which I enjoy. As somebody who often has to bring a lot of energy for events I host, i can tell Mckenzie comes and gives all her energy into these classes. Also song choices great. 11/10 would do it again.

My only wish is there were more evening and midmorning classes that were sculpt and flow, or power flow. However, I imagine there are good reasons for their schedule. Plus, I can manage to get to two a week, which is pretty amazing considering my chaotic schedule. Plus, the staff is SO FRIENDLY and so kind when I'm scrambling to get to class from work. No showers, but there are two super clean bathrooms. Parking is pretty easy, in the same lot as Trader Joes and across from Costco. Shout out to Jill's Power Flow and Johanna's Yogalates. :)

After the trial, I honestly wasn't planning on joining, but after taking Jason S's class I changed my mind His strength yoga class is my favorite. I love the way he teaches, his energy, and the overall vibe. Plan to arrive early in case you have to park across the street. My main issues are with the strict membership policy and the crowdedness inside the studio. Most instructors are talented not only in their practice but in teaching their students. I learn and follow best by seeing a demonstration not just listening to a lecture. I had an instructor that just used the mic to give directions without showing us. One class resembled a karaoke session which was fun the first couple songs but it was dark and I couldn't see beyond the bodies next to me (they're closer than you think btw). I wasn't sure if I was using the correct form, where the instructor was, or what we were supposed to be doing. Fine for the advanced yogis but leaving us beginners lost. Overall I enjoy attending most classes here. A big issue is it's so crowded. During class you're almost on top of each other so much so that they have to stagger who bends where. The walkways get so congested and I didn't even take a chance with the locker rooms bc the people in there looked like sardines. I see so many studios other than Ra popping up left and right that it would probably benefit them to open up more locations.

Everyone is supportive and judgment free. I've only been to the basic classes since I'm new to yoga but I've enjoyed every one of them. My favorite is the "yen" class. It's basically a deep stretching class. The "basics" cause me to break a sweat and feel like a decent workout. Overall this place has a great vibe. The classes are relaxing and all the people who work there are very sweet and supportive. I highly recommend this place, it's worth a try especially since it's only 40 dollars for new students!

Her vinyasa class is an amazing workout and you just feel so good about yourself. She challenges you, switches up the flow every week, and we've become a family. After one month, I learned how to do a headstand! Alice is just awesome who knows exactly what she's doing and teaching. I'm a student so it's harder to come on weekdays. However, I've gone to a few, and every instructor is wonderful. Make sure you know what class you take- basic, vinyasa, yin yoga, etc. and I'm sure you'll love it. :)
