I got seated immediately but wasn't serviced until I started looking into the restaurant like I was lost. Got approached by a server who took my order. All of my food and drinks came out at separate times all together she made 7 trips. Some things were hot, warm, already melting or cold. My LOL moment was when they asked me how my food was tasting and I had no silverware! I also had to get up and ask for salt,peper,salsa, Pico de gallo and more napkins. Side note if you sit at the bar your at the mercy of the street! Its a hang out spot to people waiting for a table. Wow, literally the best food ive had today. I got the Dulce de Leche latte iced with oatmilk. It was just right after a day of work. I waited a while for my plate of Coconut Horchata Matcha Soufflé Pancakes. And im going to say the wait is worth it, the texture is just right of soft and savory, the whip on top with the coconut flakes, so good for my first time too. The lady who served me was so nice and kind even after i waited. I really wish i got her name but she was so nice and understanding . Best place i found on instagram that is local. Beautiful atmosphere, its welcoming and warming. Give them patience, they are gaining so much attention. Local cafes/restaurants need the attention it deserves. Stopped by this morning as we came across their video on Instagram. Did it deliver? Absolutely!!! Complements to the chef the food was amazing! So much flavor and generous portions. The chilaquiles were so delicious and salsa was super delicious. The beans, I couldn't make out the flavor but damn they were good! Our waitress was nice and constantly asking if we were doing ok. So that was a plus. The music playing was fitting. Back to the food. We had flori breakfast, chilaquiles, alpastor omelet and fresas con crema souffle pancake. Everything was overly sweet for me and the rest of the group, chicken and waffles was pretty good, the only thing it was not good putting ice cream on top of fried chicken. The presentation was gorgeous. I was salivating at the thought that I was about to devour this masterpiece. Unfortunately they were not that good. They were bland. No spice, no flavor. They came with a crumbly Mexican cheese which I loved but they also had some melty cheese which could have been omitted. The chips tasted like store bought chips. It came with beans which weren't that good either. The service was decent because the servers were very polite and friendly. Unfortunately they only had two servers for a packed restaurant which made it very slow. I had to go to the counter to pay my bill because it was taking too long. Visited this place after hearing many recommendations from friends. Once we finished at our table, we told our waitress we were ready to order. We placed our order and waited about 20 minutes for our food. After 15 minutes, we had to remind her about our coffee (Cafe de olla). The coffee was extremely sweet and lacked the authentic Cafe de olla flavor. I had to ask for hot water to dilute it, but it was still overly sweet. Soft openings are literally meant for working out kinks, training staff, and refining the menu before a full launch. It just feels a bit harsh to write a full essay declaring it "one of the worst restaurants" when they're still figuring things out. Every small business deserves a little grace in the beginning, especially brand new spots trying to build something in the community. I ordered the Chilaquiles rojos and my son had the Chicken and Waffles. Where do I begin? The chilaquiles were salty, and the chile used for the salsa wasn't even ground properly. It tasted like they just mixed tomato sauce with crushed pepper. As for the chicken and waffles, although the flavor was decent, having ice cream both in the middle and on top felt like way too much for our taste. Don't even get me started on the heavy amounts of whipped cream and sweets they put all over everything, a recipe for DIABETES!!! The servers were neither friendly nor attentive, which only added to the unpleasant experience. The only things I can honestly say were good and perfectly cooked were the tasajo steak I ordered on the side and the soft pancakes.
