First of all the lady knows her profession inside and out, but she treats you with kindness and respect. Everything I want in a friend. We have gone to Dr Poulos off an on as my husband's cataracts got worse and he recently had surgery to replace his eye lens. Dr Poulos consulted with us. She took the time to present the facts, help us decide and explain what would happen. Her staff is also efficient and caring. They work together like a team and the educate and prepare you for your procedure. They present you with a little kit and a folder with the exact instructions easily mapped out. Overall the kindness and caring I see in Dr Poulos is also reflected in her staff. They use the latest equipment to measure and gather the information for the procedure. They give you instructions written and verbal and call you before the appointment to make sure you understand exactly what to do. Our contact for surgery scheduling made it convenient and she was very nice as she worked to get both eyes completed before the holidays. The drops that you must buy for cataract surgery can be costly. Dr Poulos works with a pharmacy that delivers but more importantly they offer a really good discount. A co-worker went to a different doctor and paid $100 for each of 3 small bottles and my average for similar 3 bottles was $65 each. A significant savings and one I would not have known about except Dr Poulous negotiates to provide their patients an easy way to get the medication at a significant savings. The staff is really good about keeping the appointments on schedule with little to no waiting so they get you in and out. We saw another doctor before selecting Dr Poulos. They had us waiting for so long (in the waiting room and in the exam room) and when we did see the doctor we got a hard sell to upgrade out of pocket. I am so glad I checked with my friend on who she had used for her cataract procedure and was happy to get the referral to Dr. Margaret Poulos.

The waiting area is a bit dated but functional…read more Cayley at the front reception was extremely brittle to start and when I didn't have my insurance card, (as this was a unexpected emergency visit) but did have a scan of it on my phone, she became icy and clipped. It was an extremely unpleasant way to begin my visit and I nearly left based on her snarky behavior. One star. Fortunately things improved. Tech Shawn was so thorough and kind. He put me at ease and warmed my heart with his gentle nature. He let me know why he was doing all the checks and what to expect next. 5 stars Upon seeing her, about 50 minutes after my initial entry and preliminary exams, Dr. Kurzon was insightful and recommended a medication for eyelid that is new and could make a huge difference for my eye health. She departed the room a bit abruptly and another tech came in to lay out the tools for Dr. Kurzon to perform an in office procedure on my eye. 5 stars. I then waited for the doctor to come back, about 15 minutes. She did the procedure, then let me know verbally what I'd need to do the rest of the day and for about a week, plus pickup prescription at the drugstore. I wish it had been given to me in writing, as I was pretty anxious at the time. 4 stars. Checkout was clipped and professional. 4 stars. TL/dr: Dr (and tech) quite competent, receptionist has terrible customer care behavior.

Dr Kurzon . Very unprofessional..... The worst. My wife went for exam... cataracts…read more....... Told she needs both lens replaced. After the exam the Dr would not even meet with us and discuss..... Sent her assistant, very unprofessional .. spoke too fast, hard to understand.... .....who tried to push us into most expensive choice, two multi lenses....without any consultation ..... We later concluded she does not need, ....not just about cost, but not best for other reasons...... Dr would not meet with us to discuss......My 85 year old wife asked for a glass of water,.... she wouldn't get it for her!. ...I said. "I don't like this, I don't like you" . We're going somewhere else........ She said " I don't care if you like me." ...... We are still waiting for appt for Dr for second opinion,...... but now, I question whether she needs both lens replaced or not, .....they have lost all credibility ...Even if she's right we will never go back!

The next day I got a huge stye in my eye that still hasn't completely cleared two weeks later. But that's not the topping on the cake. My husband--who isn't very good about making appointments with Dr's until there is a need--got something in his eye that is causing him a lot of pain. He called and they turned him away, saying he hasn't been there in two years. I'm super tired about Dr's not caring about patients, but rather their own bottom line. So this office is another office that just plain doesn't care. Oh... but there is more. My mother had her cateracts done by Dr Aziz at least 10 years ago and still has trouble with her eyes, then my father's had his cateracts done by Dr Aziz and sees worse now than he did before the surgeries. I was able to get into central Florida eye clinic within a few days. My first thought was, it's possible that the practice isn't great with no waiting for an appointment. However, everything about both of my visits was great! The office is nice and clean, the front desk girl is super sweet and she helps with some tests and such. Dr. Kazi was very thorough, has amazing bedside manner and is conservative in his treatment plan. I appreciate that in a Dr, as some might suggest to just cut your eye out.
