I would like to preface this review by saying I love orange theory and have been going for YEARS. I was a founding member of this studio and used to go every single day. I became pregnant 7/2022 and was able to go minimally up until 2/2/2023 when I could no longer go because my belly was so big and the doctors were scared he was IUGR. I was generous to the studio to ask to put a freeze on my account starting in April as baby was due April 4th (still was charged $15 a month even though I was originally told no charge). On 5/30/2023 my freeze ended. From the date of my baby's birth (April 4) to literally now I have barely had a second to breathe let alone think of my orange theory membership. I had a very hard birth and my baby was very high needs with colic and reflux and would cry 24/7. I finally was able to remember to call to cancel my membership 6/12/2023 but I was 4 days late past the 30 day policy. I sent an email asking how many more times I would be charged and when my last day of classes would be and my email was never returned. I called the studio asked for forgiveness from ONLY this last payment seeing as I was only 4 days late, a new mom who was still in June experiencing birth complications (scar tissue that had to be burned out from inside of me) with a high needs baby and on top of that postpartum anxiety and depression. I even offered to get a doctors note or provide them with my medical notes. They said it did not matter to them the reason that they had to continue with corporates policy. Absolutely no support for postpartum mothers after being a member for years. They can see I haven't been there since February and offered me 10 free classes.. my baby is high needs I can not come!!! What if you were injured in an accident and could not cancel no medical notes are accepted! Beware at all costs!!!!! I would proudly tell anyone to join but not after this! They are all privately owned! Whatever happened to decency and doing the right thing! (I also told them I would be leaving a review and I was told by the studio to post it)

I ve been to a gym (which shall not be mentioned) where the front line (front desk) service is not what one would expect. Equipment for the most part was working and the gym felt VERY clean. No duct tape holing equipment seats together. Classes- I have not attended any, but I am familiar with the instructors and they all are amazing. (Dalys, Stephanie, and Jamine) Ohhh chil I had to get outta there, me and my phone were melting. You may be able to find them on Facebook and Instagram. LA fitness provides multiple locations in my city, which is convenient and does not give me an excuse for not going. They also have multiple locations throughout the US - from Cali to Pr. I don't want to commit to an annual membership since it's not unusual for me to become disinterested after a few months. All I wanted was a monthly price. It's so convoluted - currently, there's no enrollment fee if you sign up for an annual contract, but there is an enrollment fee if you want a monthly contract... there's a $60 gym fee after a month or so... and so on. By the time that everything is said and done, my calculations for a monthly contract worked out to be roughly $55 - $65 per month for a few months which is unreasonably high. I get it that gym corporations need to make money, but there has to be a better and more transparent way to price memberships. DJ was incredibly kind and patient, so that is why the gym gets a 3 star rating instead of a 1 star rating. My review has nothing to do with the staff.

However, I've been a member of 6 different Planet Fitness locations across the country. Always a Black Card member. I walk into the Fleming Island, FL, Planet Fitness for my 10 minute to 30 workout, when I get a break from helping my family member I jump on the chance to workout. This time, a manager stops me and says,"You have met your maximum visits per month for Fleming Island Planet Fitness." Ok, when did you start only allowing a black card member 10 visits a month? I have never been throttled. She said always and she's been there 5 years. You can imaging my surprise! I've never been stopped. Sure, some of my workouts are just 10 minutes, so I don't really get full workout since I have limits on my time. 10 visits probably was a total of 4 hrs. for June. Anyway, she was trying to be in control of the situation and would probably have let me in for my 10 minute workout. But, I didn't have the patience to patronize her to get in my 10 minutes. And yes, I could have made Fleming Island my home club. But why? Then she says,"You can pay $5 a visit." Really! Major fail.
