Ok, came here on a whim as multiple people had suggested. And was hesitant based on the idea/concept. But.. Walked in to extremely friendly employees, joined a tasting that had just started, and was rather surprised at how chill this place is. The TL:DR, employees were great (including the first day employee), the wine is different, and the slushies are kind of awesome. Def worth stopping in if you're in the area.

Charcuterie boards pair well with your FREE tastings on the weekends or use Groupon! Service and experience is a breeze and entertaining! The whole winery is more of a dive style with lots of eclectic decor, awards, and FL history. The tasting and house wine slushy are a must try! They also have wine for purchase by bottle or cases and will ship to you. It's a must try!

This place was pretty cool! I was raised in St. Petersburg and never heard of this. Maybe because I left the city before I became of age to drink. Nevertheless, a group of about 12 visited the spot for my girlfriend's birthday and we had a blast. We sat down and watched a brief video about the history of the winery. Then we got to go on an actual tour was quite informative. Finally we were able to try a number of the wines and even a couple of the wine slushy's which was a favorite of mine. Everyone was very kind and accommodating. I would not hesitate to return.

If you come here do the free wine tasting. You get to try 4 wines, 4 slushies and it's nice to get to taste some things before purchasing. Some wineries do a deal if you get more than 1 bottle but this one doesn't and they're about $22 a bottle. They also have an area in the back to have drinks and I think there may have been some food. I came on a Thursday morning and there was hardly anyone there so that was nice and the woman doing the tasting was super sweet and helpful, she hadn't been with the winery long but was really sweet. I remember coming a few years ago and it was busy and whoever I dealt with was kind of rude when I asked questions about the wine and it was too busy to sample then. Based on this recent experiences I would give higher stars, but that last experience still stuck with me because the lady was pretty rude.

I drove by the unassuming building with the beautiful mural on the side, not really paying attention to the actual name. We walked in and it was quiet, only two employees busily stocking wines. The thing I love about Florida wines is they are mostly made from fruits other than grapes; so I'm not limited to whites only. The young lady who lead our tasting was very personable, giving us back stories to each wine and letting us know her personal favorites. When it came to the time for us to taste the slushies, I was thinking they would taste like any other wine slushy I've had in the past. The flavor combinations were so tasty I couldn't wait to go to the beach and sip on it during the hottest part of the day. There were other wines we didn't get a chance to try during the tasting and that's when the flight came in handy. We were able to try wines that we peeked our interest that we didn't choose during our tasting, including some sparkling wines (for a small upcharge). The staff brought our flight to us in the lounge area, where they have plush leather chairs and a variety of jams, jellies and other condiments for sale. You are even given an option to sample some of their non wine options. Florida Orange Groves Winery will always be a stop on our visits to the area.

Purchased a Groupon for two. No reservation is needed, so you can just walk right in and wait for the next available tasting (luckily, there was one just starting when we walked in). The tasting went by too quickly. All of the wines available are fruit/tropical wines, but some are available dry (blueberry was my fave). We also ordered a charcuterie board (which was recommended). Sat in the lounge after and ordered a couple glasses of wine, and it was very relaxing. The groupon is an excellent deal as you also get two wine glasses, a bottle of wine of your choice (up to 26.00), and 2 cans of wine of your choice. Employees were outstanding, and the tasting host was very friendly, humorous, and accommodating. I highly recommend this establishment!

Absolutely love this place! We had the best experience with our complimentary wine tasting. This is such a unique concept and everything was delicious! Can't wait to go back!

Definitely 5 stars for this winery! We did the wine tasting for a couple of birthdays and we had so much fun! They start you off with a video to watch explaining the history of the winery and then they give you a complimentary tasting of their popular wines and wine slushees. You can then taste 5 more for $10. Greg gave us the tasting and he was awesome! He knew his wine and showed us his squirrel and bird friends that came to visit for a peanut. They also have a gift shop to peruse and you can buy bottles or glasses of wine or slushees.

My first visit was a total five star. The staff kindly greeted me and offered me tastes of their wine before I went home with one. They put it at the desk so I could look around. I would love to come back and do a full review with a tasting event and a tour. Definitely a must do on my list. If you're into fruity wines, you're sure to love this place.

I found out about the winery from my friend. We visited on a weekend and got to do the tour and a tasting. Our tour was done by Demi, who was very informative and passionate. She also did our tasting and made sure we knew what we were trying out and answered any questions we had. My favorites were the Cat 5 and orange slushee. The winery also has snacks, jams, souvenirs, games, and other merchandise. One of the staff members got us to try these champagne flavored chips, they were interesting. I also got to try deep fried shell n' all peanuts. Other than that, the bathrooms were clean. The staff members were nice. Parking was ample. The tour and tasting were free. You can get additional 4 tastings for $5. The cheese/crackers/olives plate was $10 for 2 people. If you buy more than 12 or 13 bottles (I forgot which), you can choose either to get 7% discount or the last bottle free. I wished I could buy many bottles but I don't drink that much. However, I learned that their wines are also sold at ABC stores, which is great since I don't live in St. Petersburg.

For Saturday we were looking for the winery where we could go for winery tour as well as try fruit wines. So we decided to visit Florida Orange Groves Winery which is an amazing place in st. Petersburg with wide selection of fruit wines. The winery was beautifully decorated and we loved the decor. The winery also had a lounge where we can sit with group have wines and play games with friends. First we went for the wine tour which gave us the view how winery is made in the winery or stored. Amazing tour along with the amazing staff which helped us along with every answers. We picked out the sampler which was 4 for $10. For the sampler we picked up Hurricane Class 5, Coco Polada, Barrel Selection (Blueberry) and Sparkling Mango. We soon got our sampler. The wines were amazing with Hurricane Class 5 being the best wine. Along with Hurricane Class 5 Coco Polada was also our favorite wine. We wanted to try more sampler so we decided to order another sampler for $10 which included Key Limen, Florida Grapefruit, Orange Sunshine Sweet and Barrel Selection ( Peach). From this sampler we loved Orange Sunshine Sweet and the Peach Barrel Selection. We enjoyed their selection and it was an amazing experience with delicious wine. We ended up buying some bottles of wine too.

love it here! greg the manager is so kind and funny, we loved the complimentary tasting! gives a cozy cabin lounge area !

Store area and taste test bar area in the back.

Arrived to about a 1/2 full restaurant which was smaller than we expected. Seated promptly, menus presented, water ordered as my husband wanted to have time to look at the drink menu. We settled on the lunch menu with an order of bolognese and the meatball appetizer that we would share since Italian food is usually plentiful and filling. My husband also later ordered a glass of wine. Shortly after we were delivered bread to our table and we were confused because it looked like garlic knots. My husband said something to our waitress and I questioned maybe this bread goes with our lunch entree with the waitress standing right there and agreeing with me. We are not normally bread eaters and the more we looked at it, we thought it was a mistake. We flagged our waitress again as she was walking by and asked again. This time she said, "you did not order garlic knots?" and we said no, we ordered the meatball appetizer. She promptly takes the bread, goes back to the kitchen area and I thought I heard her say "lunch" to the chef, I assume. Not sure why this was confusing as my husband literally pointed at the lunch menu as he was ordering and saying we were going to split. Not a big deal at this point but then it seems like moments later she is back with the meatballs and the bolognese. We look at the dishes and we were literally shocked. We had never seen such small meatballs (2) for an appetizer for $9. I thought the meatballs would be redundant since we ordered bolognese but there was so little meat in the dish (maybe 2-3 teaspoons at the most) and so little pasta (think small salad bowl or plate size) that it was not redundant at all. A side of bread was brought with dipping oil as well. It was mid afternoon and we were very hungry at this point so we started eating.. Sadly the meatballs and bolognese were brought to us luke warm as if they had been warmed up. We certainly did not have a long wait so they were not sitting cooling down anywhere. We just ate our meal and ended up eating the bread (which was excellent) because it was not enough food for us. The waitress checked on us towards the end of our meal and finally brought my husband's 1/2 glass of $10 wine (we thought she had forgotten). We did not mention the temperature of the food because at that point we had already eaten it most of it. Looking at other reviews now I see some people did mention luke warm food and the owner did not seem to believe them. We know what was presented to us and yes, it was luke warm. We thought the food was pricey for what you get and the luke warm food on top of it makes us have no inclination to try this restaurant again. Overall we were not wowed by the quality of the food except the bread which we normally never eat.

This is the kind of place that feels like it's been around forever, in the best way. Spacious for the area, lively without being chaotic, and backed by attentive service that keeps things moving even when it's busy. The menu is extensive, and then just when you think you've seen it all, there's a specials board tucked away with even more to choose from. If you can time your visit right, Tuesday is the move. They run a buy one pound, get one pound half off deal on snow crab legs, and it's easily one of the best values around. The snow crab legs are fresh and satisfying, and the Dungeness crab holds its own as well. Both pair perfectly with their rich, drawn butter, simple but done right. Portion sizes here are no joke. The shrimp skewers are almost excessive in the best way. Three skewers loaded with roughly eight shrimp each, so you're looking at around two dozen shrimp total, all a solid medium-large size. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause when it hits the table. The shrimp pasta is another standout and clearly a house favorite. It's packed with flavor and easily one of the more memorable dishes on the menu. Good enough that ordering a second one to-go actually makes sense. The clam chowder, though, was the one miss. While it's loaded with plenty of clam meat and has a hearty base, there's a slightly smoky flavor that throws it off. If you're a chowder fan, it might not hit the mark. Probably something to skip next time. As for the crab cakes, they passed a pretty tough test. A Maryland native at the table gave them a strong approval, which says a lot. Pro tip: Get there early, ideally around lunch, if you want to lock in that snow crab deal. It's popular, and you don't want to risk missing out. Overall, this is a reliable, crowd-pleasing seafood spot that leans into big portions, solid execution, and a relaxed coastal vibe.
