I will usually decline if it's offered - unless it's made by Heartsong Creations. To date, I have had 4 of her cakes. They were all moist, flavorful, and fresh. The cherry on top is that she is a professional woman with a caring demeanor when it comes to her service. She is a pleasure to do business with, and has become my "go to" for all my cake needs.

The "icing on the cake" of their customer service was that they were worried about the meringue pops melting if I picked it up the night before because of the temperature change from their cake fridge to a regular fridge, so she came in early the next morning so I could pick it up right before the party. They had several different flavors of cupcakes in the display which all looked tasty!! They also sell custom cakes and other baked goods. I grabbed my cupcakes but I was taking pics for my review. So as I'm taking pics, I'm smiling and minding my business. A lady walks in and you can tell she was in a bit of a mood. She started talking to the girl behind the counter in a rude tone. So I went on taking my pics, and the counter where the register was, had several boxes, so I sat my cake box down on this little cart that had toppings. I thought it was too cute not to get a pic of. All of a sudden I hear the same tone say "please don't sit anything there"! I wasn't aware she was talking to me at first so, she said ma'am and I turned around. She told me no, don't put anything on that, we take that to shows or for catering. She said it could get scratched up or dinged. I apologized and moved the box. She was still talking. So I said ok. I mentioned there wasn't a sign up or anything to alert me that it was a problem. But I wasn't being rude or weird. I mean it literally was a small dessert box. When we both walked outside I told her I wasn't trying to be rude, I just wasn't fond of how she was speaking to me and thought the sign would help avoid conflicts in the future. She obviously didn't want to talk about it, so she said we never needed a sign because no one has ever done that before!! As if I'd broken some unspoken law. Lol. By this time I was confused as to what I did that was so wrong, I even had to giggle because this small situation didn't warrant her being snappy. I tried to give her grace because I don't know what kind of day she was having. But I'm assuming she's the owner at this point. She should definitely get her tone in check, because customers can pick up on your nice nasty approach. I thought this was going to be a good experience, but it left me confused and a little disappointed. The whole vibe was light and airy before she walked in. As for the cupcakes they were not what I expected. I got a mystery box so it was a mix of cupcakes they pick out that are leftovers from the previous day. But these had to have been from several days ago because each and every one was hard, none were moist. Very heavy cupcakes. There was carrot cake, I think a maple one, lemon blueberry, and chocolate. I noticed the carrot cake one had the after taste of raw flour.. . The chocolate one and the lemon blueberry tasted the best out of all of them, but each one of them had to much extract, except the chocolate one. I'm not just saying this because of the encounter we had. I don't hold grudges, this is an honest reaction. I had been excited to try this place because I have a sweet tooth. Our cake was only $326 which was phenomenal because other places were charging $800-$1,000 for a 3-tier wedding cake. I really loved the user-friendly website they had. Ordering was so simple and easy and I was able to order a gorgeous pre-made, 3-tier cake, that Jessica and Erik were able to add our wedding colors to. The cake was a vintage style cake and it quite elegant. The top two layers were vanilla with the bottom being chocolate. The cake was delicious, moist, with the perfect amount of buttercream icing. The guests absolutely loved the chocolate as it had layers of what looked like fudge in between the layers or cake. The slices were a mile high tall and did I mentioned the moistness of the cake?! It was amazing. The vanilla was delicious as well, but the chocolate was the crowd favorite. Our guests loved the cake. We will be ordering from Jessica and Erik in the future for events and milestones. We also support veteran owned businesses. UPS had no fault in this, as the box they were in was small and not sturdy and FRAGILE was not marked on the box. The box was squished. It was the way they were packaged and sent that caused the entire contents to be smashed. Once I sent her pictures, she would not respond to me any further, I sent 3 more emails asking for a refund and never got any response. I don't understand how a business can operate like that. I had to file a claim with my CC and finally received the refund. This Jessica does not care about her customers in the least, I was devastated that I could not use the planned cookies as favours for my daughert's shower and scrambled to get something else, 3 days before the event.

Multiple shades of purple spotted mushrooms were placed on the side running the entire one side of the cake. Cutest things ever seen. The details were amazing. Many times a cake like this falls short on flavor. Not this one. Cake was moist, marbled (purple of course) almond cake. The shop is small and cozy with no indoor seating, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in charm and incredible sweets. The bakery case was absolutely stunning -- full of beautifully made cookies, macarons, and more. We tried three macarons (espresso, almond, and salted caramel), and every single one was perfection -- fresh, flavorful, and just the right size and sweetness. We also grabbed a shortbread cookie, which was buttery and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And let's not forget our pup! Lexi got a pumpkin cupcake with peanut butter icing, topped with a tiny bone-shaped treat -- not only adorable, but she devoured it. Definitely pup-approved! The staff was fantastic -- super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. You can tell they care about their craft and their customers.
