Had brunch here and the weather was so amazing we had to have patio seating! I would skip the OJ or iced coffee, but the biscuits were heavenly. My friends and I got different eggs benedicts and they were all amazing, I wish the one I got had more crab or some greens in it, but still delicious. My friends got the Swanky Benedict and it was better imo -- the chicken was super good and it was def more filling. Came here tonight for dinner. I had looked at the menu before I got there, and was unsure of what salad to order since most of them sounded great. I ended up on the combo of their soup and salad since their soup also sounded good. I was hesitant on the strawberries in the wine country salad since I know they're not in season really, but they were lovely. Everything in the salad worked well together and the dressing was nice and vinegary while still tasting of raspberries. It was very well balanced except for the ratio of toppings to greens. I feel as though there was just a little too much toppings. It could've used more leafs. As for the soup, it was a little bland, but after adding salt and pepper it tasted nice. It was mostly soup rather than crab or corn though. That was my only critique really, the temperature was good as well. It could've used some crackers on the side, but it wasn't necessary, just would've been a nice touch. Our waitress was quite nice, checked up on us and got us refills. All of our food came out together and hot. The sandwiches on other people's plates all looked wonderful, and after having a shoestring fry, I can definitely say next time I will be ordering some of those. As far as ambiance goes, it was nicely lit but still moody, which was appreciated. Very chill in there. Only reason I rate it 3 stars is because I feel as though there's room for improvement food wise, and price wise. $20+ for almost everything on the menu is pretty ridiculous. Even for some of the simple items. I don't think the food is that good, proportionately appropriate, or creative to be that much money. Maybe it's just me, but that's how I feel. I'll probably be back to try more items, I'd recommend coming here at least once to try if you haven't, during happy hour to get the best prices if you can. read more

This location of Bakers Crust was a little difficult to find. (Laskin Rd VA Beach) We received a friendly greeting and were promptly seated on an early Saturday evening. Our server was quick to deliver water and our other drinks. We ordered our meals. Our dishes arrived quickly. If you have read my reviews, you will know that I am a fan of a great burger and that is exactly what I was served! Smoky Bacon Burger Stack was fantastic! It was served with delicious fresh-cut fries. I decided to switch things up a little and substituted mozzarella cheese for the American cheese normally on the menu. My wife ordered the Ahi Tuna Burger - also done to perfection. She substituted asparagus for the fries. When we received the bill we were surprised to find a charge for each substituted item plus a 3.5% surcharge to everything (to compensate for rising costs). We were never told about the added cost for the mozzarella and asparagus, the manager explained that the server should have informed us of the added charges. The manager made those charges go away, but the surcharge remained. I didn't get a good clean feeling about the restaurant. The table was sticky even though they were freshly wiped. The unisex restrooms smelled and the exhaust fan did not appear to be effective. A few little tweaks for the restaurant and it would earn another star. Overall a good experience. read more

We used to the Baker's Crust catering team for a recent party. Lisa met with us ahead of time to plan the menu for 65 guests and was very helpful with what and how much to order. Our guests are still raving about how great the food ( chicken and waffles, artichoke chicken, penne a la vodka, ham biscuits, tenderloin sandwiches and Caprese skewers) was and how attentive the Baker's Crust staff was during the party. I found it very challenging to find a brunch place that takes reservations and bakers crust does!! For a group of 13, I was very impressed by how easy it was to show up and be seated and how well the service was. Really enjoyed the experience and the food came out quick, drinks were refilled, and individual checks were offered too (which is always quite complicated but the waitress executed everything seamlessly!) On this evening, I visited the location at Landstown and was highly disappointed (I usually go to the Greenbrier location and have never been disappointed there). Arrived near the beginning of happy hour, about 3 PM. And the entire dining room only had 2 tables that were occupied. It was an unseasonably cold day, and the hostess sat us at a table directly in front of the glass storefront window and it was uncomfortably cold. I asked to be re-seated... TWICE... And eventually landed at a comfortable and cushy banquette style table near the back of the restaurant far away from the cold air. I was meeting a coworker after work and we wanted to blow off some steam which is why we came during happy hour. Within 15 minutes....with still a very much EMPTY dining room, they sat a party of four right beside us -- literally the tables were about 18 inches apart, I couldn't understand why they wouldn't sit us in such a way that both parties could have a bit of privacy. I found that quite annoying. The service was quite slow, the server did advise. They were a bit understaffed so I understood that, and was willing to be patient, but for as empty as the dining room was, our wait was longer than it probably should've been. The Edibles ... I ordered a pineapple something drink off the HH menu, and it was made well and was quite tasty. Everything else dinner-wise was subpar Literally nothing was notable. The wings were actually underdone, I thought to myself I would have to take these home and put them in my own air fryer to let them finish cooking. But by the end of the meal, we were so disappointed with the entire experience. I don't know if this was just an off day for this location or if this is what one can expect anytime, but I will not be returning to this location. Came here on 01/22/2023 to celebrate my niece's 18th birthday. Our party was 17 deep and arrived at 12pm, luckily the wait was not to long as there was a big party there finishing up, so they already had a place to seat us. Some of the food we ordered: Calamari, Tavern Chips, Kickin Corn&Crab chowder, Jalapeno & cheddar club, Chicken & Cheddar Panini, French Toast, Swanky Benedict, Smash Burger, Charleston Chicken & Avocado sandwich, Kids Cheeseburger. Me and my hubby also got the Everything Mary, we really enjoyed this but I was not a fan of the Everything season on the rim, this did not add anything to Bloody Mary to me except for a lot of sesame seeds in my teeth lol. Use to come to Bakers Crust all the time back in the day, mostly the Norfolk location. I always loved their Corn & Crab chowder and that was still good as ever. I had the Jalapeno & Cheddar club, with the house parmesan chips. I do love their parmesan chips, the sandwich was good, but I was only able to eat one 1/4 of my sandwich. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. My sisters wish they had gotten Julienne style fries in stead of the ones that came with their dishes but they were not offered that option when ordering, otherwise they would have. Our server was attentive and said that we were one of the easiest groups she had to handle. I really wanted a Diaboltin crepe to finish things off but decided to be good. The food here was delicious. I had the tomato and cheddar soup combo with the chicken and cheddar panini. The soup was so flavorful. The sandwich was ok, but it could've used a bit more sauce. Other than that, it was good. Our waiter, Noah, was polite and attentive. The atmosphere was nice, and the only reason I took off a star is because of the bugs. While here I saw two tiny roach-like bugs. It was pretty unnerving to see them in the restaurant. I don't know if it's because they were heading inside because it's colder, but it's still not something you want to see in a place serving food. read more

Last evening the pizza dinner was a disappointment. The quality of the dough was poor. The pizza " Prosciutto & Arugula " was overcooked and it got hard after about 3 minutes. I am rating three stars because our waitress was friendly. I have heard so much good things and was not so impressed with the food. We arrived very hungry and did not finish our meal. In a good location, I'm surprised I have visited before. Pit stop before wedding dress shopping so I wanted to keep things light. Baker's Crust consistently has good food, innovative cocktails, and wonderful service! Tonight we took advantage of their Happy Hour, which is during the week from 4-6pm. Draft beers for $4, Wines on tap for $6, and their craft cocktails for $8? They also have happy hour specials on a few of their food offerings too, listed in the picture I snapped :) You won't find better prices for great quality libations too often! On Wednesdays at their Hilltop location, they also offer their burgers for half price (excluding the tuna burger). I opted for their bacon double stack, which was delicious, juicy, and paired well with their house cut French fries. Looking forward to spending another happy hour there soon. read more

I've been to Bakers Crust other location in Virginia Beach. They have a few restaurants, and if we are in the area I do enjoy stopping by. There is a thing called hangry, and if the hubs has had nothing in the stomach by 12pm watch out lol. The parking lot is spacious as it's located within the shopping center. Upon entry we were seated, provided menus, and given water. That was quick and appreciated. There seemed to be a staffing shortage that morning, since we waited for some time to just give our order. I had fallen for their Charleston Chicken and avocado sandwich. It was one that I happily devoured from their other location. It was time to revisit that piece of fried chicken again :) My better half chose the breakfast burrito with a side of hash browns. So in my opinion the fried chicken was smaller than what was offered at their other location. There were sections where it was thinly battered, and some of it was falling apart, and then one where it was just batter with no chicken. The crunch factor was a bit underwhelming. The smoked bacon was cooked, but limp, and placed on the burnt brioche bun. I did like the avocado and in house chips. The breakfast burrito was about 6 inches long, and the fennel sausage was minimal. The hubs ended up still being hungry afterwards. I just wanted to hold the mayonnaise and tomato but the extremely poorly designed website has deemed their sandwiches are perfect as they are and will not let yo make any changes. we have been patrons of Baker's Crust for decades and today was beyond disappointing. $53 for lunch which included a chicken Caesar, bowl of soup, and a 1/2 sandwich/soup combo. First, the bowl of soup was a cup of soup. Second, The chicken was pathetic and small - I could have thought a whole rotisserie for $5. And the soup lacked crab. iIt is So sad to see prices go up and food quality go down. We will not be returning. read more

Unfortunately the last time I came here I did not have a good experience. Food took over an hour and came out cold. Decided to give today another chance and was told they ran out of biscuits. Couldn't order what I originally wanted. Most of the meals have a biscuit with it. Table next to me ordered a whole biscuit basket. Funny how that works. By the time our side of bacon came out we were already finished eating our improperly made food. Then a second side of bacon came out. Told them we already got our side of bacon. (It was cold too) can't have a good experience every time but come on. I was impressed with the timeliness of the food and the "hashbrowns" kinda had hope that they would be old fashioned hashbrowns..but they were good. We went to Bakers Crust Hilltop location Sat 2/3/24. They have absolutely no idea what the bleep a Neapolitan pizza is!!!! The dough was dead and neither "pizza maker" somehow didn't notice!!! Not one bit of this crust even rose up, they may as well have heated up a Totinos frozen pizza. Also, there had to be a minimum of 3 TBL of grease sitting on top of the disaster!! I wish I'd taken a picture of it. Our server showed up to the table randomly and believe me, this place was not packed (now I know why). Why is the Shrimp pasta dish not served with a bread option? This is a great farm to table restaurant. The dressings on the salad are delicious. I did a half sandwich and half salad. It was way more food than I could eat so I had another meal out of that. It's been years since I've been to Bakers Crust. We have one in Richmond but currently in VA Beach and wanted to grab breakfast before heading out. I don't typically like to go to places that I have back home but this location was convenient. They had a special on their mimosas for $4 which included flavors so I got the pineapple mimosa and it was great. I got the traditional bakers breakfast and a flap jack. My boyfriend got the Mediterranean omelet, French toast, and sausage links. The food is okay but I think it's the price that's a turn off. There's a local restaurant in the parking lot that I wish we would've tried instead. Again, food is fine it's just the price that doesn't make it seem all worth it. Service was great. read more

I ate here 4x this week. The Wine Country Salad is so fresh and delicious. I added a different protein each time- steak, shrimp and tuna. Well, I added steak twice! The portion is generous and the strawberries and grapes very fresh and sweet. The lettuce was cool - not freezing cold- and fresh and the cheese was just the right amount. The salad dressing is the perfect accompaniment and I am not a dressing lover. Her name was Mariah and she was wonderful, kind, efficient and a good listener. I ordered water with no ice or straw and rarely do I get it correctly. She brought me just that and offered to refill our drinks before they were empty AND she actually put water with no ice in the pitcher for me!! WOW!! I ordered a combo with the corn and crab chowder and Malibu sandwich. My friend ordered the fish tacos and corn and crab chowder. The food came out so fast which is so nice when you are on a lunch break. The soup was delicious but maybe a bit spicy. I was good with it but it was too spicy for my friend. My sandwich was good.
