I stopped in hoping to try both the ice cream and a matcha latte. Since they offer coffee drinks, I was excited when asked if I wanted to add another flavor to my matcha. I chose strawberry, but it was straight strawberry syrup. In hindsight, I probably should have gone with the ice cream option instead. The bigger issue was cleanliness. When I went to pay, the card reader had what looked like some oily substance on it. My tap payment wouldn't read, so I had to insert my card, and afterward, I had to wipe it down before putting it back in my wallet. It wasn't the best impression. The ice cream may be the main attraction here, but with so many great ice cream shops in the area, nothing about this visit really stood out enough to bring me back. If you're coming specifically for a matcha latte, there are probably better options nearby. Unfortunately, I don't see myself stopping in again. read more

Stopped by here on a Saturday around 9:30 pm, there was a decent little crowd inside but the wait time wasn't too bad. The decor was really cute and everything on the menu looked really good. I decided to try their chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream mixed with a caramel pretzel ice cream (10/10) it was really good and the two ice cream flavors together ended up being a good choice; different from what I usually get. Despite the cute outside and decor this place was terrible. We went specifically for crepes. Two people were working and apparently one didn't have a clue about what they were doing. They almost refused to make the crepes but the other guy decided he could do it. We were refused to be sold milk as a beverage even though there wasn't anything normal to drink in their store. This was a good ice cream experience. While on Atlantic Avenue I was searching for a good ice cream parlor and Dream the La Cream popped up in my search. Central Atlantic Avenue on Virginia Beach has plenty ice cream options, many of which are just good enough for beach goers and kids lacking discriminating taste, however, this ice cream parlor is a good option for trendy, non-chain ice cream. The interior has fun decor and the vast ice cream selection and menu is just as fun. Although the workers didn't seem as friendly as I would have liked, the customer service was not bad. There is seating on the inside, albeit booth seating, which virtually limits seating to three intimate parties. I would like to see more individual seats perhaps across the side wall. My daughter and her friend found a $100 bill on the floor inside Dream the La Cream in Virginia Beach. Rather than keeping it, she did the right thing and immediately handed it to the cashier, asking that it be held for whoever dropped it. The cashier took the money and placed it directly into her own personal pocket -- in front of both girls. Not into a register. Not into a lost and found. Into her own pocket. When I found out I called the business repeatedly and received no answer. My daughter had to physically return to the establishment before I was able to reach the man who identified himself as the owner by phone. He was combative, talked over me, called me unprofessional, and when my daughter offered to leave her phone number in case no one claimed the money, he refused and walked away from the conversation. Let that sink in. A young woman turned in money that wasn't hers and was met with hostility, avoidance, and a door slammed in her face. When she offered to leave her phone number in case no one came forward to claim it, the owner refused. He has made it clear that if no one claims that money, he has no intention of returning it to the young woman who honestly turned it in. He intends to keep it. And if that wasn't enough, let me tell you about the product itself. My daughter ordered the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup for $14.99. They were out of pistachios -- a key ingredient -- and substituted Oreos without any meaningful disclosure of what she would actually be receiving. What arrived was Oreos, strawberries, and Nutella in a cup. No chocolate. No pistachios. Nothing remotely resembling what was advertised. She paid $14.99 for something that had no business being marketed the way it was. This is not a substitution -- this is selling customers something entirely different from what they ordered and charging full price for it. This not only speaks about their customer service, it speaks to the quality of their ice cream. The character of a business is revealed not in how they treat customers when things go well, but in how they respond when things go wrong. This business failed that test completely -- twice in the same visit. If an employee will pocket found money in plain sight of customers without hesitation, I would strongly encourage anyone visiting this establishment to keep a close eye on their belongings and their cash. You have been warned. A police report has been filed. Complaints have been submitted to Virginia Beach Consumer Affairs and the Virginia Attorney General's office. Highly disappointed in this place. We had high hopes based on the pictures but did not get the experience we had hoped for. I got the salted caramel milkshake, which did not include all the toppings as advertised. They put in so much milk into the milkshake and not enough ice cream that all I tasted was milk and no ice cream flavor. This also made the texture too thin. There was a biscoff cookie and mini crunch bar on top. The edge had chocolate frosting around it with pretzels stuck onto it. I didn't taste any caramel anywhere in the mix. My husband got the brownie frappuccino milkshake, which again, only tasted like milk because there was way too much milk and not enough ice cream, so there was no coffee flavor. His toppings were better, there was a whole brownie on top and brownie stuck around the edges with frosting. However, it was again missing toppings that they advertised on the sign. Finished it in a few minutes and still felt hungry afterwards. The man putting together our milkshakes didn't add to the experience at all either. He turned his back to us and didn't let us watch him make it and didn't chat with us at all, other than to tell us they were out of the Reese's milkshake. I got the New York crepe, the manager watched me have ONE bite, and when I came back after having a few more I found that the crepe tasted stale and my friend got an açaí bowl which was horrible.
