It's right on the end of the main strip in The Boro with tall glass windows that let in plenty of light. Made me feel a bit like I was sitting in a french cafe somewhere in Paris. Well, except for the dearth of Parisians. Plus, the interior layout was very open with good spacing between tables, tall ceilings, etc... we definitely felt very comfortable indoors. Really liked the artwork, was a great touch. Rest assured, we got pictures of the family in front of the wall art. The food was ... mostly ok. Seems like the special for the ... ah... day? week? month? was a chicken shawarma wrap--and ostensibly the best of the three entrees we ordered. My wife ordered the roasted chicken, smashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts. She concluded that because it was a custom bowl, she probably didn't mix the right flavors. They were all "okay" by themselves, but didn't pair well. I ordered the teriyaki shrimp and avocado. How best to describe this. The shrimp was delicious and nicely drenched in teriyaki sauce. The bowl also contained brown rice, cauliflower, snap peas, avocado, bok choy, shittake mshrooms, and corn. Sadly I don't have a lot of positive things to say here. The ingredients did not tie together in any way. Every fork-full was an independent sensation: oh, I'm eating mostly raw cauliflower now; aha, this snap pea sure is chewy; mmm some rice... good thing I happened to pick up some of the sauce sitting in the bottom of the bowl so it's not so dry. I was pretty excited about the shittake mushrooms but really couldn't taste any of the five shriveled slices in the bowl. Will I come back? Maybe. I didn't leave offended. I had to make a trip to McLean and remembered seeing recommendations for Flower Child. I can't believe I missed this during my previous tips. My daughter and I ordered ahead since we were in a hurry. The app was super easy to use and I was able to weed out options that contained gluten for me. They had SO many options that looked delicious, it was tough to choose. After submitting my order the wait was around 15 minutes plus they delivered the food right to my car, which was extremely kind of them. I ended up with the Glow Bowl. It smelled amazing and it was beyond delicious. I love a good veggie bowl and this hit all the notes. It was crunchy and warm and flavorful. Mmm... My daughter decided to get an entree with chicken, broccoli, and the smashed potatoes. She said it was really good and would definitely go back. She also had the seasonal lemonade, which was rose petal, and raved about it. I had a sip and ohmygosh, so good. We will be back. We went here early in the summer as some of the pandemic restrictions were relaxing. We like their menu which is healthy. We sat inside after ordering at the counter. After ordering, customers receive a stanchion with a number to place on their selected table. When the food is ready, the staff delivers it to the table based on the displayed number. We had the turkey avocado cobb salad and a veggie plate. The veggie plate choices were cauliflower and quinoa, Yuzu brussels sprouts, and glazed sweet potatoes. We had glasses or wine and beer. The location expects payment at the time the food is ordered and expects customers to pay a tip before experiencing the quality of the service. This seems like a great place for a wholesome, healthy meal but the food can be hit or miss depending on what you get. I wasn't a huge fan because my mashed potatoes were too salty and my eggplant was too minty. Cute, chic and healthy restaurant serving many vegan and vegetarian options. I was in the area and needed to kill some time to not have to deal with traffic. There are many Flower Child restaurants in the DMV so it seems like a franchise. It was my first time here. It is across the street from Tysons galleria in a new development with other restaurants and a Whole Foods. They have a tables outside with umbrellas so I opted for outdoors since it was a good day. I ordered the sweet potatoe noodle entree with tofu. I must say I'm not a fan of tofu but this was amazing. The tofu was grilled. The noodles were delicious in the sauce they used and it had plenty of veggies in the dish. It is a good portion so it was filling. I also had a pomegranate kombucha, it was so refreshing. I was in the area for business and stopped in for lunch not knowing anything about Flower Child. One thing I learned is that I sure wish there was a Flower Child location near me. Even though Flower Child is billed as healthy they do still have filling and comforting options. When I visited I was fighting a cold and I wanted something to sink my teeth into so I got a turkey and avocado wrap that was packed full of veggies and flavor. Drove by this place a bunch of times so I looked at the menu and figured it was a possible healthy option so after a weekend of bad eating, decided it was time. We placed a pickup order online for an early dinner. We got the avocado hummus, two forbidden rice bowls (one with chicken), sweet corn & quinoa, and braised super greens. It was hard to find parking outside of the garage so keep that in mind. The food travels very well though which is a plus. The hummus was different than what I'm used to, a little corn and a nice hint of avocado. Wish there was more pita/bread. The forbidden rice bowls were great. Rice was perfectly cooked and the veggies were so crispy and fresh tasting. The chicken really made my bowl filling. Loved how creamy the braised super greens were and if they're healthy I'm shocked. The corn and quinoa side was ok, nothing crazy. If I'm looking for a healthy option, this is definitely make the rotation because of the options they have. The steak is cook medium and it was flavored well. If you like your steak well done, try something else! The mac and cheese was creamy! I would order that entree again but maybe ask for less salt on the brussel sprouts. The staff were all very nice and friendly. They kept their masks on, had hand sanitizer readily available at the front and the service was quick. Social distancing was maintained/tables were spaced apart well. Thought it was just with avo ceasar dressing but salad come with lots of fresh avo cuts too. Dining room was mostly empty but dirty! Seemed like the staff preferred to do one big sweep all at once rather than clean as people leave. Picking a seat was essentially avoiding a dirty table. Within 5 min a busser went around and cleared all the tables so I guess I was just there at a bad time, otherwise everything else was sparkling clean. This place gives all the happy and healthy vibes. The space is bright and filled with plants, colors and all the things that make you feel good. Ingredients like good grains, vegetables, lean proteins, nuts, seeds, and roots will make you feel good on the inside and outside. I tried the avocado hummus, Mother Earth, and Teriyaki Shrimp & Avocado. The hummus was creamy. The pita bread arrived warm to our table. The shrimp was cooked perfectly in the teriyaki bowl. There was definitely Asian flavors going on and it wasn't bad. I like how Mother Earth had different flavor profiles for each ingredient. I thought both bowls were a little too salty and saucy. I think they are a wonderful addition to the Tysons area. They're also kid friendly with the kids menu and crayons to color. I wish the bathrooms were more kid friendly. read more

(They also used to own North Italia and True Food Kitchen, not sure why FRC places are being purchased left and right.) Ordered two Mother Earth bowls with salmon and chicken to-go. Also got a bottle of wine. I picked out the rosé from Natura wines, also organic. Loved the combination of the different ingredients, and definitely tasted healthy and fresh. A bit on the pricey end, but you pay for quality here. Waited about 15 min for both orders. Definitely seemed busy on a Saturday night with many to go orders. Restaurant had good Covid related signage and sanitizer stations everywhere. All staff in the kitchen was wearing a mask, and seemed to be working hard to get all the orders completed! Food was neatly packed, and everything was seasoned great. May try the steak or shrimp next time. Only negative -- Parking was kind of annoying since you park inside the garage, hoping for a good spot by the elevator, and then have to take an elevator to get to the ground level. I've gotten the Mother Earth Bowl w/ Tofu and the Turkey Zucchini Lasagna. Both were surprisingly good and had a lot of flavor! I highly recommend the Mother Earth Bowl, it's no wonder that's one of their bestsellers. New hip restaurant in Tyson's new complex, the Boro. Flower Child is a healthy option for everyone-even those with stricter dietary restrictions. The restaurant is spacious and hipster with writing on the windows and greenery on the inside. Each table is decorated with a cute flowered vase. Ordering and dining in will get you an order number where the employees will bring you your food. Bf got the Flying Avacado and we split the Crushed Avacado Toast. I got an entree of chicken with two sides: the Spicy Eggplant and the Yuzu Brussel Sprouts. The toast was yummy with perfectly boiled eggs. So picturesque! I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken but the sides were delicious. The Spicy Eggplant had a good amount of kick to it without being spicy and the Brussel Sprouts were very crispy. With many new options popping up, Flower Child will be a great option for a casual lunch with coworkers and friends. It's got great healthy options. I got the Mother Earth bowl with salmon added and their rose lemonade. The food came out relatively quickly and had great flavor. Got a chance to check out Flower Child's soft opening event on Sat, 10/12, as well as a peek of The Boro. The place itself has a pretty clean feel to it - modern, open air layout with a chill/casual vibe. Overall, all the appetizers, entrees (Mother Earth bowl) & drinks seemed pretty healthy, except for my dish (Steak+Cauliflower+Butternut Squash), which was a little too much on the salty side. We also tried the Avocado Hummus (very good) and an IPA on tap. Next time I'll have to try the Kombucha on tap. Pretty cool event and definitely a nice addition to Tysons. read more

I am absolutely in love with the Mother Earth bowl. From the perfectly sweet miso glazed sweet potatoes to the crunchy ancient grains and the acidic greens, this bowl is well balanced and my go to choice when I want something healthy for lunch. My husband and I tried the simple hummus to share (holy light fluffy airy hummus!!) and each got separate entrees. I chose the cauliflower, tofu, and Brussels.
