This place sounds like vegetarian paradise,most of items are like you can't go wrong. I ordered vegetarian entrée witch should be a three sides on your choice.I can't believe that someone decided to place everything in one bowl without dividers and tastes were unrecognizable! What a mess... Brussel sprouts were totally burned and bitter,five spice in butternut squash was so overwhelming and out of place,that I couldn't even taste squash.The only edible thing was sweet potato dish glazed with chili and mixed with bok choi. Service was good,place is clean and inviting,but my dinner was ruined. read more

Very cute place with a great uplifting vibe! I ended up getting the Elderberry Kombucha on tap for my drink, Crushed Avocado Toast as an appetizer, the Mother Earth bowl with Salmon for my entree, and a Bittersweet Brownie for my dessert. The Elderberry Kombucha was amazing! Definitely recommended. The Crushed Avocado Toast was a little more salty than I preferred but still very good. (I was so excited to get eating I forgot to get a picture.) For my entree the salmon was cooked perfectly and all the flavor components of the other ingredients in the bowl were balanced well. The brownie was a great way to end the meal, it was rich and decadent. Thank you Flower Child for this event! I will definitely be back. A very much welcomed addition to the Tysons area :) read more

I needed to order dinner in and also needed to walk the straight and narrow from a calorie perspective this evening so I decided to give Flower Child a shot. I will first say that the pictures of the food on DoorDash were absolutely not appealing so I of course ventured on over here to Yelp for the real deal pics from diners and they made me hopeful enough to place the order. I went with the salmon which comes with 2 sides. The selection of sides while healthy totally all sounded pretty yummy and ended up being just as yummy as they sounded in real life! There's absolutely nothing frozen about the salmon or the veggie sides as everything was fresh and cooked pretty darn well, which is commendable for a fast(er) food healthy joint. The side order of shrimp were the least exciting part of the meal (& it's probably what I get for being greedy and ordering a side of shrimp) as they weren't chargrilled as they looked in pictures I saw and were a bit watery which was odd. Overall, the meal was tasty and truly healthy and for that I will give them a second go round and try another few items from the menu when I'm in the mood for healthy and yummy! read more

Flower Child is your perfect weekday lunch spot - between both the indoor and outdoor seating options and Boro vibes you feel you're somewhere lost in a bustling city, casually sipping teas and healthy salads. I appreciate the abundance of veggie and protein options, and the fact they are serving more than just a salad (bowls, plates, etc). We ordered the curry bowls with zoodles and chicken. Prices are $$ (which didn't surprise me due to location, ambiance and any healthy place will always be more expensive) but overall I felt what I was eating had good flavor and wasn't just healthy food. I think portions are great (not too tiny, and not huge). Sitting outside was also lovely since there is so much shade and it doesn't feel too hot. read more

An excellent place to eat healthier, but delicious meals. I've only eaten here because my bosses love it and buys us food from here. Looking at the prices, it's somewhat affordable, but I don't think it's worth it to get that often. My favorite things are the mac n cheese and brussels sprouts. The chicken isn't too bad, but I prefer more sauce and juice to it. I also enjoyed the avocado toast :-) read more

Disclaimer: I love flower child. Hence why I took a friend to this location today. Both of us got a horrible upset stomach. We stick to a very clean, organic diet so we are very disappointed by the keto lasagna and salmon + curry cauliflower & yuzu Brussels sprouts we consumed today. My family and I stopped here the other day, as it seemed to have accommodations for both myself (a vegan) and my brother and mom (meat lovers). The service was quick, and we all LOVED our food! I ordered the create-your-own entree as did my brother. I got mine with tofu, which was well cooked but could have used a bit more seasoning. The brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes I got it with it more than made up for that flavor, though! My brother got chicken, brussel sprouts, and Mac n cheese, and he loved his food! He's hard to please at healthy restaurants like this, so this was a big win for me and the main reason I rated this place 5 stars! Went here for dinner. Been to the Bethesda location but heard this location was amazing. Wanted to see for myself. Ordered the hummus, glow bowl salmon which is my go to, Mother Earth bowl and added the salmon. Wow! The food was no less than perfect! The general manager Rudi came out to check on us and she has more hospitality than a manager at a 5 star restaurant. We were blown away. We've tried several of these restaurants and there isn't one that measures up to this one! Perfect! Go out of your way and stop in Tyson's and ask for Rudi. Thank you to Rudi, chef and the team. We placed a family meal order one day in advance. The order was supposed to be ready by 11:15AM. However, our order was not even prepared at all when we arrived the store at 11:20AM. We waited another 20 minutes before we can pick up our order. During the time, the staffs in Flower Child just let us standing there and did not say anytime. Yummmmy - i went here with a group of friends (actually just another couple) and they live in Reston and us in Alexandria - - . It was my first lunch/dinner social thing since the move and i'm so glad i chose this restaurant. The menu is TO DIE FOR! You can look it up before you go and you will be blown away by the options for vegitarians/vegans + carnivores. I mean, vegan massaman curry with SPAGHETTI SQUASH??! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Did we go out + go grocery shopping to try to cook the Indian cauliflower dish and buy spaghetti squash to eat for the rest of the week - - yes and yes. I even asked if i could taste the massman sauce because i tend to try to be careful with spice and they gave me a tester! I ended up not getting it but still gave money to Giant for our squash purchase after :) The prices were fine (think... "Panera" prices ~ $9-$15 a plate); all the staff wore masks and very well-spaced throughout the restaurant. The ambiance is glorious and beautiful and exactly goes with their food. All of us had great portions and had a wonderful time! No issues with staff bothering us while we were hanging out and talking either! Here's what we got: *Mother Earth x2 (one with Tofu + added spaghetti squash) *Entree with 3 side dishes: Protein = Chicken, indian spice cauliflower, roasted brocolli, RED CHILE GLAZED SWEET POTATO *Thai Dye Wrap *Kombucha on draft (*and the angels sang*) And we all enjoyed ourselves ALOT! Came here for lunch with my sister in law and baby nephew a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint! Love the healthy farm to table options and the environment was very calm/relaxing for a newborn baby- not loud, easy to have conversation, tables nicely spread out etc. The decor is also very cute. Incompetent restaurant where they can mange to loose a simple order for a pair of wraps. Desk staff had to be chased down and then didn't follow up until I went back. Place is light and airy, food was fresh and tasty (wild caught salmon, sautéed just right - crispy outside juicy/moist inside ), great quality ingredients and produce....very subtle seasoning, just like the way everything should be prepared! They definitely target an after-yoga clientele with plenty of vegan and gluten free options and kombucha on tap (there is even a "yoga mat parking" basket). But the food offers something for everyone and was really delicious. I got a bowl with no added protein and my spouse got the steak with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. I was worried that the bowl wouldn't quite be filling enough and was tempted to get an extra side- but decided that if I was still hungry, that just means room for dessert. It was so satisfying though on its own! It was the perfect size for a hearty dinner. I will definitely be back. The staff was also super friendly. read more

Awesome experience. Low key Sunday and I decided to check Flower Child out after hearing people rave about the Forbidden Rice Bowl. The atmosphere and hospitality was great. My rice bowl was flavorful and exceeded expectations. For $14+ (with a healthy portion of chicken) you really do get your money's worth. Sweet potatoes were fabulous - "best I ever ate" - said my 90 year old grandfather. The quinoa and sweet corn was also top notch.
