I almost didn't try Chopt because some of the negative reviews made me hesitant, but I'm really glad I gave it a chance. The value was incredible -- my salad was enormous, easily enough food for two meals, and it was only about $14. Everything tasted fresh and the customer service was great. The ranch dressing wasn't quite the rich buttermilk-style ranch I usually love from restaurants, but next time I'll just try a different dressing. I want to start this review by saying that all other times I went to this location, I had exceptional customer service AND food -- no complaints, 10/10 would recommend. My coworkers also really like this spot and go often throughout the week. If you had asked me before what I thought of the McLean CHOPT I would've recommended it 1000%. That all changed today. On August 25, 2025, I came to this location for an early lunch. The line was several people deep but it went super fast, which is one pro. Another pro is the Chopt rewards app, which I use often (I often come to Chopt for lunch). I find this app racks up rewards better than like a Starbucks or Chipotle app, for example. Using the app, I quickly paid for my food and sat down to eat my lunch. Perhaps this next part is my fault (absentmindedly scrolling through my phone without looking at what I'm eating), but I got to the middle of my salad and realized the chicken (cut into relatively bigger chunks that day) was raw. And I'm not talking like there was room to misinterpret what it was, it was definitely raw (pink, fleshy). This isn't the end of the world, and it's a COMMON MISTAKE. I was under the impression that they would just cop to their error and fix it-- boy was I mistaken. I go up to the cash register (which was unattended) to just let them know. Keep in mind I did not go up there with a goal in mind of getting a refund or having my salad remade, even. I just wanted to bring the issue to their attention. I stand there for a little and eventually a girl comes over and asks how she can help me. I respond by letting her know that the chicken is raw. Her reaction next was very odd. Instead of taking a look, apologizing on behalf of the store, or just seeing how she could rectify the situation, she actually doubles down and goes, "It's not raw." At this point, I'm kind of astonished that she can just determine this without taking a look, and so I try to explain -- no, it really IS raw, I can see it. Her excuse? It's just bruised. We go back and forth like 3 or 4 more times with me trying to insist, no this is raw, before she gets fed up and goes, "Well okay, what do you want me to do about it?! You want me to make you a new one???" This was really weird and the shitty attitude was uncalled for. By this time, I realized an apology was out of question, so I accepted the salad being remade (which by the way, she didn't make either). They also made me give back the first salad right away (I'm guessing so no pics could be taken). I took the remade salad and left. I tried to chalk it up to maybe only that employee was the problem (because, keep in mind, I'd come to this location MANY times before and had never had a negative experience). I called the store afterwards and explained the situation and was only met by the manager making up excuses for her ("I don't know if she's going through something today or...") and there was no real apology at all. They definitely did not care. I went on to complain about what happened on the corporate website and while a refund was issued, there was STILL no apology. So this is acceptable behavior to Chopt I see. Here's what I have to say -- we could've just avoided all the issues if you had just accepted the chicken was raw in the first place (like I don't know, maybe TAKE A LOOK???). Proper customer service would've been just to say "Oh, I'm sorry about that, can I take a look?" or just acknowledging a customer concern, like, AT ALL?? Lastly, the blatant disregard for the only POC customer in the store seemed too noticeable not to mention. I realize now I don't meet the criteria of a customer they actually care about, so thought I'd just warn you all before you go. Obviously I will never go back. read more

The food here is great! I got the Mexican Caesar & let me tell you; it is fresh, tasty & will satisfy any hunger!! While in the store I got to interact with the manager, Rigel. Wow! The man leading this place is amazing! Every time I come, he is so friendly and helpful! Their store is super clean, which is something I appreciate as a germaphobe, and has lots seating options for everyone. I get the Mexican Caesar salad wrap (which all of my friends and family love) without the jalapeños and with an extra side of regular dressing! It is so so good, with super fresh and tasty ingredients, and always is ready quickly and in front of you. Decent but I order their salads weekly for work and always ask for extra dressing and they NEVER give enough. I even called them and let them know. The salads end up so dry because they give the tiniest containers of dressing. if you ask for extra, you only get one more tiny thing of dressing (if you're lucky, because they forget 60% of the time). Super frustrating when you order for delivery and can't get more. Just increase dressing container size or give 4 little containers. I don't undersand. read more

This salad was incredible The spicy Sonoma is a MUST GET ITEM. The combination of spice, flavor, texture was out of this world. I used to go to the one downtown and get the same thing just about every time: the Chicken Tinga salad as a wrap. It was a good size and very tasty. Recently I have been to that store and the one in McLean and gotten the same thing: the Chicken Tinga salad as a wrap. It was tiny. No where close to what it used to be, and significantly fewer ingredients than the salad version, which is the same price. Definitely not with the $10.50 they charge. Tonight was the night to restart my calorie intake watch, because the begining part of this week, I was goin all out with tacos, pizza slices, and a Greek gyro. I set out this day to be different and unique in a way that is actually care about what I eat, for which I have definitely slacked off in that department at least the past couple of weeks. I went for the Mexican Ceasar with the grilled chicken option. This creation was made with romaine lettuce and also included cotija cheese, jalepeno peppers, and diced tortilla chips. I have been to this Chopt before and had a relatively good experience. I went here with my daughter and she ordered first. The person who helped her was extremely friendly, great customer services. They were cleaning part of the food station so some of the items were hard to see. He acknowledged there was more items and brought them closer so she could see. Then another worker came to the front-line. I was about to tell him my order, but he tells me that the person helping my daughter will help me, he was going to help the person who came after us. If the person who was helping my daughter wasn't so nice I would have bounced without spending a dime. I took my other orders though elsewhere after paying for my daughters food. Not sure if it was a failure on the server or how Chopt runs their front-line, but I always assume to help the next customer who needs help. read more

Honestly, it's hard for me to get excited about salad, but Chopt helped me get as close as I ever will to enthusiasm. I got the classic cobb, which was really good and came with a healthy amount of avocado. I really like that all the ingredients are chopped up, because it removes that awkward moment when you bite into a piece of lettuce that's clearly too big for your mouth, and it removes the need to toss your salad yourself, which for me at least is always a messy affair. My dad got a salad in which he thought the avocado was not ripe enough, so he asked for another avocado and they offered to remake his salad for free! He didn't do that, but they gave him a whole new avocado for free. That was really nice and definitely gave me a good impression. read more

This location was disappointing. I ordered on the app so I'd have dinner on a flight. I ordered a substantial salad ($15 customer craft) and my salad was maybe 3/4 of the way full. It also wasn't chopped well -- I came home, dumped it all out on a cutting board, and chopped it myself and then added more items. This ended up taking way more time than just making my own salad. I don't think I'll return to this location, though I've had good experiences with Chopt (other locations, for example Rosslyn) in the past. read more
