As an avid plant collector, I was super excited to make a stop at Flower World on my most recent trip to Washington. A bit off the beaten path, you won't regret this unconventional stop. But make sure you give yourself at least an hour to tackle this beast! Mostly outdoor species, I explored as much of the grounds as I could but was most excited to see the green house. The crown jewel is an enormous tropical (I believe a type of philodendron) which overwhelmed and amazed at the same time. In in between drizzles and and patters of rain, it was a lovely place to kill some time and find some beautiful specimens. read more

Massive selection, good prices but terrible service. I have been going to Flower World for a couple years after my favorite nursery closed. I guess my expectations were set pretty high because the staff at my old place were amazing. Every time I go to FlowerWorld I am surprised at how little I am acknowledged. I typically spend 45 minutes and go thru the majority of areas. There are always a lot of people working but not once have I ever been greeted or spoken to. Not a hello, not a can I help you, barely even a look. Last year I spent a good 25 minutes looking at the camellia's clearly contemplating which variety was right for my space. Maybe 4 employees were around and saw me, zero asked if I needed help. This consistent experience leads me to assume they don't know much about the plants and therefore try not to engage. But I can live with this because I put myself in paralysis over all of my analysis before I buy. What really disappointed me and I think is going to lead me to not want to go there again is my visit today. The checkout employees are always friendly and that didn't change today, however the employees that engaged with my transaction really bothered me. We needed a price check on one of my plants which I knew was 19.99 but I understand they need to check. But when I mentioned I think that's the price an employee chimed in in a tone and look that suggested I was trying to get one by them. Once the 19.99 was confirmed she said well I guess you know more than we do. Felt unnecessary. Fine, petty nonsense but what really set me off was an employee loudly from a far saying you want a box? Well I had grabbed a plastic container that is spread out all over the store with signs to take and use and bring back to recycle. I replied that's ok I have this. Very rudely she asked well are you planning on bringing it back to recycle? I said yes and she said something like, well we don't want people taking them and had the checkout employees get me a box. It was really rude and in front of other customers so naturally I took offense. Not important stuff but you know kind of embarrassed me, felt again, unnecessary. Don't have the containers around if you don't want people using them. They have the containers and recycle stations all over the property. It's the level of unfriendliness that I just can't take. I think I'd rather pay a little more at a smaller nursery just to get a friendly face now and then especially if I'm giving them my business. read more

Flower World trip was amazing without much traffic. Not much crowd either, that's exactly what we wanted for wondering around and picking lots of house plants. Terrific choices of plants for variety of foliage types, pattens, shapes, colors for various light conditions and budget. My husband and I visited the nursery for the first time this past Saturday, during a quiet morning. Mark greeted us (appropriately from about 12 feet away,) and spent about an hour answering my many questions and walking us around the nursery to show us plant after plant. It's December, and everything is dormant, but he was kind enough to show us photos from his mobile phone and explain the growth habits of each plant as it grows. It was a relaxed, zero-sales-pressure morning with people who obviously know and enjoy plants. (For what it's worth, I am extremely conservative about my exposure to people and COVID, and I felt safe the entire time I was at Flower World. After seeing the amazing variety of plants they had I couldn't help but to leave with a car full of plants. The staff was also very helpful and gave great advice on how to take care of each plant as far a watering, amount of sun it needs and where to keep it in your house or where outside. There is a reason why it's called Flower World, it's the biggest nursery I have ever been to. I love it! We re-did our front yard after receiving numerous of threats from our HOA to clean up the yard or get fined (LOL). We've always wanted a palm tree in our front yard to replace the existing tree and with the referral of one of our landscaper friend who told us to check this place out. We went to numerous of nurseries and although the palm trees were gorgeous, the pricing was out of range. I can only vouch for the palm tree, and not so much the other plants but I'm sure it's great as well. We did find a gorgeous palm tree for a reasonable cost. Although this place is located in Snohomish, it was definitely worth the drive. The kids really love seeing some farm animals at the fruit stand before the nursery entrance. The staff there is really helpful and nice. Make sure you join their Flower World membership club, it's free to join and you get a 10% off. read more

This place is HUGE, at least 5 acres of plants, so if they don't have it I highly doubt it exists! But be forwarned, you will be doing a lot of walking! I went here mostly looking for some Succulent plants, but ended up buying about 9 plants all together. Plenty of things to see and get. I would most certainly recommend this place, but be forwarned give yourself plenty of time! You'll need it! And wont regret coming to this place. read more

Horrible, horrible lack of service. Not only do they never have enough staff scheduled to help you find anything, but there are also limited cashiers open, especially on weekends. To top it off, over the last two years I have had to "re-apply" for their little membership card. First, they lost my info, then they updated and I had to do it again, and today, I don't even exist in the "system". So I spend over an hour locating the plants I want, get to the checkout line, and the cashier asks for my phone number. We try all three, and her only reply is, "nope". Not, I'm sorry, do you have another number, just "nope". Then she asks for my email and says, you guessed it, "nope". I told her that was nuts, and she said that it wasn't her fault that the new computers didn't talk to the old computers, so my info never made it over. I said, fine, let me sign back up, and was told, "Nope, I can't offer you any discount today, but you can sign up at home." You guys/managers or whatever need to get a grip on how to do business. If you can type in my phone number three times and my email, you can surely "sign me up" while I am standing there. It really is a joke and the cashier could care less. And honestly, to drive 15 miles is not worth it, the prices are really not any better than Lowes or Home Depot. Good luck keeping people coming back! You lost me over $15. read more

I came in search of house plants and I was so pleasantly surprised by their selection. They had plants I've never been able to find at other local nurseries but, THEY HAVE A PEST PROBLEM. I bought a large house plant and when I got home I discovered the plant was infested with SPIDER MITES, so I returned It and got only store credit. So I bought another plant. I checked it before I left but when I got home and was very closely examining the plant, this one had SCALE! I'm not sure I'll buy plants from here again unless they get this problem under control. This is a great place to take kids. There are goats, peacocks, and chickens to admire-- with geese across the street. You can take a nice stroll through the gardens and flowers and then head over to the animal side across the street. There's also a shop with produce and snacks. Love this place, it's one of the happy place. I found some uncommon / rares here too from time to time. Several selection for indoor and outdoor gardening. I found some awesome sans , Philip and cacti here that I don't See often in other plant shops. Don't forget to visit the edible tree area if you're into those kind of stuff. Wonderful selection, heathy plants, lots of information care sheets and professional horticulture staff here to answer any and all questions. They usually play jazz or classical music for the plants which makes today very odd as they were playing sports radio which was very anxiety inducing as me and the plants had no idea what was happening. I loved the massive selection and valley of fauna and flora at flower works! This was my first time but certainly not my last. We actually went there as a destination for"something to do with the girls" and though our age spam was 13 to 79, everyone enjoyed it very much! The plants all looked so healthy and so did the Koi and the turtles. It was my first time visiting Flowerworld: update: I've never been before and went to go stroll around and shop during a sudden hailstorm following the restock of the black maranta prayer plants (also, when I called about these, the lady on the phone who was new told me she would take my name and number and then get back to me about it, but I hadn't received a call so I decided to head in) and when I checked out, this lady named Julie (with a bob) actually raised her voice at me for not knowing what the e-membership was and did shove my receipt on the table with some force. I was really shocked and thought she maybe had just had a bad day- I usually like to give customer service employees the benefit of the doubt since I've been there myself! I went back again to the same girl to try and see if she was just flustered that one time but then she checked me out again AFTER I told her I just signed up online and said "Next time you can give your phone number instead of wasting people's time". I wanted to cry. The plants were very cheap but some had spider mites on them! Not sure if I will be headed back again as it's awfully far from Seattle and this experience my shopping spirit in general. read more

First time customers last week. We were treated rudely by a female supervisor directing people thru the checkout lanes. Went back today to get some more of a particular plant. I was treated very rudely by another female supervisor when I had to ask her a second time the specific location of a plant. She was very abrupt. Young checkout staff were pleasant. Customer service at Supervisory Staff level is seriously lacking. We wont be back despite wonderful selection of plants. Not worth it to be treated poorly. read more

I used to love Flower World, I always recommended them to friends and neighbors and said it was worth the drive. That's changed. This year is the first year I've been consistently disappointed. Someone else mentioned in their review that there was an incorrect price on a pot; that's one of the great things about Flower World, they accept all of your old plastic pots and re-use them. You can't rely on those stickers, you have to look for the price on the table or on the actual plant tag. The reason for my frustration this year has been stock quality, stock quantity, and the summer "sale." They always used to have full tables of every species you could imagine. This year it took two trips to finally find half a table with a few straggly geraniums (perennial, not annuals). Their selection of petunias was unimpressive this time, too. I have made several trips there and most of the time I came home with few or no plants. I purchased a barberry shrub about four weeks ago. I went back to buy two more during the sale last week and they were marked up $5. Most of the 4" pots were still the same price, and some of the 1 gallon plants were the same, but many of the prices went up right before the sale. I think I'm done with Flower World. Even though both Sky and Molbak's nurseries are a little more epensive (about 50 cents more for 4" pots, a little more for gallon plants) it's worth it for the quality and quantity of plants. read more

Absolutely amazing nursery! This was the best, most exciting plant nursery I've ever been to! This place is SO huge, if you want to look at truly everything, it may take you well over an hour or two. It's very easy to get lost inside so I'd make sure to pick up a map and take note of the aisle numbers you see above haha. All of the plants look really amazingly healthy and well taken care of unlike most plant shops and they have an amazing selection of plants. There's even a few ponds that have koi and turtles in it! I was even able to get hibiscus here when I was looking at other places that said it was too early to get it but I found a lot in Flower World! There are many plants indoor and outdoor and various kinds of everything, though make sure if you're going into the indoor one it might help to wear a t-shirt or something light because it can feel really hot inside. Sometimes it's hard to find staff since it's a pretty big area but when you find them, most of the staff were pretty friendly and were able to answer all of my questions I had about the flowers. Some plants are in multiple locations- like I was looking for succulents and then I saw a small table of them near the entrance and thought that was it but then when I walked to a whole different area of the same building I saw more succulents/cacti. There was also complimentary coffee offered near the entrance/exit by aisle 17 area. Make sure to sign up for e-club membership so you can get an extra 10% off (you can do it online supposedly for free- though it wasn't working for me so if it doesn't work for you online and you don't get an email, you can go to the information desk and ask for a "day e-club membership" which you can show to the cashier to get your discount. read more

Sakes alive, this place is jaw-dropping. The name "Flower World" only tells part of the story; it could be called "Plant World" or "Tree World" or "Shrub World," or even "Lots of Fowl Wandering Around World"...you will see all of these things in abundance when you visit here. I dropped by recently to get a few house plants, and more or less wandered around in glassy-eyed awe for most of the time I was here. I did my level best to avoid getting lost, because the store is quite expansive and even though there are maps available, I nevertheless felt at times like I was going to need to send up a signal flare to be located and rescued. Flower World has extensive selections and displays of outdoor and indoor plants and trees, and they are in superb condition; individual species of plants are generally clearly marked and include a wealth of info on what kind of light, temperature, watering, humidity, drainage, fertilizing, etc., will be required to keep your new little green pals alive after you bring them home. There are neato little mailboxes all over the place that contain copies of helpful planting/gardening info. The prices are certainly higher than chain stores, but the health of the plants and the selection available more than justify the cost. Also on the grounds is a large garden area, featuring ponds, fountains, a waterwheel, and all kinds of chickens and ducks and geese wandering around, clucking and quacking and honking and being generally silly. Closer to the main road, there is also a little zoo-like area with more chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks, sheep and goats...that area was a real hit for tiny humans being accompanied by adult humans. There's an adjacent produce stand too. Staff were all over the place, busily helping customers and tending to the plants on display and talking to one another on walkie-talkies. The number of people they employ seems, to me anyway, a clear testimony to how seriously they take their business, and how successful they are at it. If, by some miraculous holy act, I manage to not kill the two houseplants I bought, I will certainly return here to get some more. 5 stars all the way for this arboreal retail wonderland. read more

I know there was a lot of drama about masks and what not at the beginning of the pandemic but I went there in March 2021 and had a great experience (and I don't even walk my dogs without a mask). First of all, the selection of indoor and outdoor plants is gigantic. You can find every plant under the sun here. Secondly, the staff were friendly and helpful. Thirdly, the place was organized and clean. Additionally, the setting is beautiful and peaceful with a pond, ducks, walking areas, and lots of trees everywhere. Finally, I loved the Maltby Produce Market next to this nursery. The store had lots of fantastic organic produce, herbs, wines, and snacks. All in all - I will be visiting both Flower World and Maltby Produce Market in the near future - with my mask on. read more

Oh this place! Remember that feeling you got as a kid walking into a candy store? Yeah, Flower World is just such a place for the "bigger kids!" Nestled in the middle of a residential area with lots of small ranches and farms - you definitely get sense of driving out into the country side for something special! The grounds, the forest trail like entrance - it's a whole other world filled with beauty! Fountains, peacocks, trees, flowers, etc. Flower World is a feast for the senses! Handy wooden carts are available up front for you to guide along the aisles as you collect those must have treasures! There is so much to see and so much variety! For example, we were looking at Marigolds yesterday and Flower World had at least five different types that we saw! Some were all yellow, some had red in the middle with yellow stems, pac man yellow with wider petals, bright yellow with a larger honeycomb bloom, and deep orange! These are technical terms here I'm using to describe them obviously! Haha! The point is, there is just so much to choose from- best to go in with a plan or idea already firmly planted as it's incredibly easy to get distracted and fill up multiple carts! But maybe that's not such a bad thing? The real world needs more pretty flowers in it! Don't forget to try the fresh pressed Apple cider they give samples of too! It's good stuff! read more

We visited Flower World on a quiet rainy morning during the Covid crisis. Very disappointed with how poorly they are protecting staff and customers. No effort was made to provide a safe way to pay. They are requiring a signature on the credit card slips, which is really ridiculous at this time. Signatures do not provide any guarantee to retailers; if the card was swiped or the chip used, that is enough. The cashier tried to hand me a pen to sign; fortunately I had my own. Their phone message says masks are not required, but you can chose to wear one. I researched Flower World and found an article that the owner had used a bulldozer to push his sons vehicle (with son in it) down an embankment. Also, the owner has an old history of land use violations. This is a business that I'm choosing to no longer support. I'm spending my money with businesses who align with my values. read more

I keep going to nurseries in the area and get impressed and then I continue going to more nurseries and the impressed level just keeps growing from the last nursery! Washington is sure a great state for these kinds of places! Flower World is the latest Nursery that has continued to blow me away with this continued trend. Upon entering you go through a wooded area, greeted by various kinds of fowl like chickens, ducks and geese along with an adorable little pond and water fountain. Going inside the main buildings the variety of plants are simply mind boggling and they have very unique plants for sale as well. Maybe they are new to nurseries in general but it was here that I saw them first! They had scented geraniums. Not the strong smell you get with regular geraniums but ones that smell like strawberries and chocolate! A slight rubbing on the leaves and you are able to smell these wonderful plants! Love it! Another thing that I saw that was new to me at least was the Sensitivity Plants. Yet another "interactive" plant where if you gently run your finger down the leaf it folds up. Really cool! They have more traditional flowers and plants as well like Marigolds and so much more! There are so many plants, flowers and trees in the greenhouse area it makes your head spin! If that isn't enough you can walk around the grounds where most of the birds are and gaze at them, the pond and the fountain. There is a path that goes across the road where Flower World spills across where there are even MORE flowers and plants for sale in a small shop and even MORE chickens, geese and ducks in coops to look at. I'm not sure if the fowl are pets for the store or if they are for sale. A question to bring up at a later time for me and oh yes, there WILL be a later time. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. Enormous selection, well cared for specimens, lots of knowledge available from the staff. Kind of a haul to get out there, but the savings is worth it. Acres and acres of different things to choose from. Truly a gardener's paradise. Combined with a stop at the Maltby Cafe nearby, you can easily entertain your auntie or whomever has come into town for hours on end. I won't go so far as to say you can always find great specimens of what you're looking for, and they sometimes don't even stock things that you'd think are reasonably common. But the prices are a little better than some of the other big flashy nurseries, and it's fun to come out here and go exploring. If you're content with regular flowers and plants, a home improvement store will have better prices and be more in line with what you need. But this place comes as close as you'll get to giving you everything all in one spot. read more

Hands down my favorite nursery! This place is VAST and is located just adjacent to the little town of Maltby. They have so much to choose from, from trees, flowers, evergreens, vegetables,shrubs, bulbs you name it. A person can spend the good part of a day here and still miss some things! Their sales in mid summer are fantastic. We love to go to Maltby Cafe for breakfast ( the best but that is another review) and then hit Flower World. The first time I saw this place I was like are you kidding!! I'm in heaven! Great selection of organic products too. A charming nursery / children's animal farm. During these past few months this place has been a Godsend, I've been getting my gardening itch scratched and kids get to come out to the "farm zoo" which is worth a couple hours of entertainment checking out the geese, ducks, sheep, chickens, etc. I would say they are doing a great job at sticking to COVID guidelines especially given the polarizing views around masking. I am looking forward to buying more vines there, mine are blooming now in my back yard! read more
