They are over priced! They gave me a quote of 4,000. I went to another flower shop they said 2,400. All they care about is your money. I asked her if I could you the flowers on the arch she said no. The new florist said absolutely. I told them I wanted small bouquets and she said they at least have to be 12 roses! Shop around these women are money hungry! . They were so nice and accommodating at first then their true coloea show I should her photos of what I wanted. I specifically told her I wanted peach and white only. I called a couple weeks after to if she could create a sample of what I wanted. She said ok. I went in and there was pink and peach flowers. There were a few old flowers. There wasn't as many roses as the picture showed. She asked me to put 1,000 dollar deposit. I told her, I was going to get a quote from a few other shops. She got upset and was very rude. said this sample cost money. She got up and left. I decide to read the reviews on yelp. Glad I did. I also emailed them six times, they never got back to me. Beautiful! We had Lavorka as our florist for the wedding shower and our wedding day. She was great to work with. Her arrangements were absolutely beautiful. We were married about a month ago and our flowers are STILL beautiful. My wife's bouquet was absolutely stunning. All the flowers for the wedding party were perfect. There wasn't anything we would have wanted to do different. She has great ideas and had everything we wanted to make our big day what we wanted. We can't thank her enough. I am a budget bride when it comes to flowers. I only really wanted to get a wedding bouquet and most other decor are going to be other things besides flowers, therefore, I have a very low budget for flowers. After filling out my contact request form, I received a phone call but when asked my budget and the fact that I was just thinking of getting a bouquet, she said she "didn't want to waste my time" then hung up. I understand it may be disappointing that I don't want to do a big flower extravaganza, but that was just plain rude. It sounds like others have had issues with her services as well. Even if I decide to devote more of the budget to our flowers, I will never consider this business as they don't want to have their time wasted with people like me. read more

This review is long overdue, but there is no one else you should work with in the South Bay for floral concept and design. Lavorka's aesthetic is spot-on, her work speaks for itself. The wedding I helped plan had a very romantic but very clean concept. We wanted the flowers to be white with pale pinks and soft greens to accent. Lavorka had examples of work she had done previously, and created the big bold manzanita centerpieces we wanted with smaller, more understated centerpieces interspersed. The work she did for our sofreh, Persian wedding table, was also the perfect mix of modern and traditional. She's the recommended vendor for The Redondo Beach Historic Library for good reason. I heard about Lavorka through my ceremony/reception location. She's listed as one of their preferred vendors. She was the first florist I met with on the road to wedding planning and left me with the fear that I was in for a much bigger battle than what I had anticipated. Let me just say that she came across as very nice at first. We sat down, I showed her photos of what I was looking for and discussed what kind of colors I wanted. She immediately took that and ran with it. "I see your vision" seemed to be her tagline. Over and over again, she told me that she not only understood what my overall vision was for my wedding day, but that she shared it and wanted to make it come true for me. Honestly- her words. I'm sure there are many brides out there who want to feel like they're completely understood, and that there's this magical person who really gets that it's their day that they've been dreaming of since they were little girls. But I just wasn't one of them. I didn't appreciate getting the hard sell like she was trying to sell me a used beater car. I very explicitly told her my budget, which I felt was a fair to average amount to spend. She gave me some very dramatic sighs and said that she would have to see what she could do for me. After moving to another table at a completely different computer and again sighing very loudly, and with lots of dramatic head shakes, she came back to me with two different quotes. One was exactly $100 under my budget with the other being about $1500 over. She then proceeded to spell out to me that with my budget, I could manage to get a little of what I wanted, but it really wasn't much. I asked her how large an $80 centerpiece was and she showed me what looked like a $30 FTD arrangement. BUT!! Good news!! If I was willing to spend just a little bit more, she could bring my vision to life!!! For only $1500, I could have beautiful bouquets and lush centerpieces! And just for me, she was willing to just split the difference and only charge me an extra $1000. I wouldn't have to pay any additional labor! All the extra money would go 100% into the flowers! I felt that the almost $400 delivery and set up fee was really on the high side and she fobbed me off with telling me how much gas prices are. Really? My venue was in San Pedro, she's in Redondo Beach. Not a huge drive. When she called me back later asking if I had made a decision yet, I let her know that I had gone in a different direction. She sounded extremely insulted that I hired a different florist and wished me the best in a very rude sarcastic way. I'm so thankful I didn't have to have any further dealings with this woman. read more

My flowers were absolutely breath taking - exactly what I wanted, but I didn't care for Lavorka. Our original payment was for 14 centerpieces and in the end we only needed 11, plus we were short one groomsmen and a grandparent. I asked Laurel if she could compensate for the unneeded centerpieces (that's a lot of money that we had already paid) and her response was so rude - she actually said, "Your flowers were really expensive!" My husband and I weren't even asking for our money back - we just wanted petals in the fountain or something like that, but there was absolutely no budging from her and she was SUDDENLY very hard to get a hold of on the days leading up to our wedding. Again - the flowers were stunning, but I'd give her a ZERO based on customer service and satisfaction - her personality alone is something I would warn every bride to stay away from. read more

Due to Covid restrictions in CA I was unable to have my wedding ceremony inside the Church. I was so nervous as to how the outdoor ceremony would turn out. We were impressed with Flowers by Laurel from our very first meeting with them. They had come highly recommended by both our reception hotel and our photographer, and we found that Kris was warm and knowledgeable. She quickly put together ideas for our daughter's ceremony and reception flowers that were beautiful and within our budget. When COVID restrictions resulted in churches being closed, our daughter had no choice but to postpone her wedding. Lovorka, the owner, put us at ease. She even assured us that the flowers we had chosen for a June wedding would still work in November. Through all of the constantly changing restrictions, and with the need to move both the ceremony and reception outdoors, Flowers by Laurel patiently adapted. From the time that Lovorka's daughter Isabel delivered the stunning bouquets and personal flowers, we knew that the results would be spectacular. Isabel was always on time, and worked closely with both the church and hotel to make sure that the flowers were perfect. In the end, the gorgeous flowers transformed the outdoor space for the wedding Mass. Our reception centerpieces were also absolutely beautiful. I feel like part of my disappointment with my flowers was my fault for not being aggressive enough, but I really didn't know what I was doing. (Hey, I've never been married before!) Some of the things we ordered were beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, these were pre-wedding event flowers. When I saw my bouquet, I was SO disappointed. I let it go, because I had other things to think about, but now when I look at pictures, I am just pissed. My colors were dark orange and hot pink. We looked through a ton of photos to see what types of flowers I liked. Lovorka showed me some roses and I said "but not that color, right? because those are light peach?" and I was told, no they would be the correct color. So what's in my bouquet - the peach roses I specifically said I did not want. And my hot pink flowers were nowhere to be found - they were all purple. I even brought samples of my colors so I don't know why the colors were such a mess. If I ever need to use a vendor for a similar event, I would demand a sample prior to the event to make sure we're all on the same page. Overall- the flowers were beautiful, but they kind of screwed up all of my wedding decor by being the wrong colors. My photographer is going to try to color correct them for me in some photos. :( And they almost never return emails, but if you call they are responsive. read more

Flowers are beautiful and fresh. The florist, Alex, really tries to listen to your likes and dislikes in flowers and she planned accordingly. Their prices were a little higher than other florists, but I felt it was worth it since Alex was writing down in detail what I wanted in the arrangements. Alex was great! I had searched a perfect florist for my wedding without success. I went to a wedding show at Los Verdes Golf course and met Flowers by Laurel. Lovorka took her time to talk to me in regards to all the flowers that she offered. She asked what my vision was for my wedding and really took the time to find out more about me as an individual. I set up an appointment with her and after viewing all of the beautiful flowers I signed the contract the same day. On the day of my wedding I couldn't be more happy with my flowers from my bouquet to my center pieces my wedding looked like a dream. Lavorka was the florist for our daughter's wedding and she is incredible to work with! The room looked beautiful with the trees on some tables and the rectangular vases on the other tables. She is very talented and has such a great vision of how things will look. At our meeting with Lavorka she described how the head table would look with candles of different heights and the flowers. I absolutely loved my flowers that Lovorka did for my winter wedding! My mother, mother in law and I met with her before the wedding and she sat down with us to discuss what look I was going for...i wanted the wedding to be romantic, and soft. I also showed her pictures of arragements that I liked and she showed us pictures of her work so we could get some ideas. All were amazing! She made suggestions on what would look best at our venue (Loyola & Redondo Beach Historic Library) and everything from the pew flowers, altar arragements, table arrangements, bridesmaid bouquets, parents boutonnieres, etc. were beautiful. My favorite of course was my bridal bouquet. It was everything i wanted and beyond! Lovorka really listened to what I wanted and the look I wanted for my wedding. We checked out other florists, but felt so comfortable and felt that Lovorka really saw our vision for our special day. She even hand delivered my bouquet to me before I walked down the aisle and was there to put the finishing to touches on it (i.e. pinned my rosary on). If I could give 0 stars, I would. Beware!!! Go anywhere else but here for your wedding. I would recommend Villa Hermosa Plant Shop instead. Lavorka seems very nice and is highly recommended in bridal circles, however, once committed with her, it's a different story. She promised my fiance and I that everything would be beautiful with our wedding. On our first meeting, she told my fiance and I that everything we wanted would be done and that we didn't have to worry about a thing. She also said she would call and meet with us again as we got closer to the wedding. My fiance paid her as she requested at the first meeting. As we got closer to the wedding, she never called to meet with us. Instead, I had to leave a couple messages before I got a phone call back. At the second meeting she assured us that everything that we wanted would be taken care of, however, this was not the case. If you do decide to go here for your wedding, make sure that you get everything in writing from Lavorka. She will tell you that this and that will be done, but then she forgets, so make sure that you get everything in writing, so that you can make her accountable. Our flowers were old, wilting, and fallling apart before the ceremony. She did not get the color orange that we requested, instead our flowers were light peach. She told us later that the peach roses were the only ones she could get, that she couldn't find roses in the color she promised us. Too bad she didn't tell us that we might have the color we wanted when we booked her. Also, thank God our photographer was able to doctor the photos and make the flowers the orange color we wanted for our pictures at least. The roses for my grandmother and mother were the ugliest roses I had ever seen and my fiance and I were quite embarrassed to give them to our family during the ceremony. They were yellow roses, even though the roses we requested were supposed to be sunset orange. Lavorka must have been embarrassed too, because she dropped off all the flowers at the church and took off. We never saw her before the ceremony or at the reception. She forgot to leave the bridal toss bouquet at the reception. Thank God, our reception host was able to make one for me from some of our center piece flowers. When I called Lavorka after our honeymoon to tell her of our disappointment, she offered us a $20.00 refund from the $1300.00+ that we paid and snidely stated that I should be happy that the flowers were the only thing that went wrong with our wedding. We paid way too much money to be treated so badly and for the awful flowers she provided us on the most important day of our lives. We wish we would have gone to the Villa Hermosa Plant Shop, but Lavorka (Flowers by Laurel) came so highly recommended. Please learn from our mistake and go anywhere but here, visit the Villa Hermosa Plant Shop, they are simply the best in the South Bay. Had we booked Villa Hermosa Plant Shop for our wedding, we wouldn't have been disappointed. read more
