For my drink, I decided to try their bridesmaid's tears and this drink was just ok. It watered down very easily and didn't really have much flavor. I ordered the catfish and subbed fries instead of the grits and it came with collard greens. This meal was ok but the catfish wasn't fried hard (as I requested) and the greens were too vinegar based. The fries, however, were good! The sauce they offered - crawfish cream sauce - was way too oily and didn't have good flavor. Would've preferred a tartar sauce, though. Overall, the spot was ok. It had its hits and misses!

We weren't complaining, but wondered why? The first floor at Acme has been described as a high-energy "Funky Tonk" atmosphere featuring a main stage for live music, a large bar, and fast-casual dining. Our band during our stage was even a little different than that, and what an enjoyable group is was! The Mudbug Stompers brought us the sounds of old-time jug bands, Dixieland jazz, blues, trains, baseball, and crawfish boils. Although this is a Nashville Band, we could have easy been on or around Bourbon Street in NOLA. I was particularly impressed with the trumpet player and the lead singer who played a mean mandolin. Add the string base, sax, and fiddle, and we experienced a very impressive whole. We were highly entertained and engaged, and we're still talking about the experience!

There wasn't a hostess at the front when we arrived, and I genuinely did not see the sign indicating guests should wait to be seated. Since the restaurant was nearly empty and other guests were already seated in the area, I simply took a seat. When Marissa came out from the back, she handed me menus and immediately told me this wasn't a seat-yourself restaurant. She pointed out the sign, rolled her eyes, and walked away. It felt like an unnecessary amount of attitude for what was clearly an honest mistake. A little kindness and understanding would have gone a long way, especially that early in the morning. Thankfully, Tory, the shift lead, was incredibly kind and professional when she learned what had happened. She handled the situation with southern warmth and courtesy, and I really appreciated her customer service. Unfortunately, Marissa's rude behavior left a negative impression on what should have been a simple interaction.
