Robert's Western World is the real deal for traditional country music. The 4 of us hung out here for a couple hours one morning to hear Joshua Hedley and the Hedliners, twang their way into old time honky-tonk souls. There's a row of boots on the wall, which I think is for display only and a call out to the time when they actually sold boots here. This historic building itself feels like a shotgun (long and narrow) and apparently once served as a Civil War warehouse and later the Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company. To prolong our stay, we ordered cheeseburgers and beer (fries and onion rings were extra) for brunch. I tried to interest folks in their $6 "Recession Special" - A grilled or fried bologna sandwich piled high, with a bag of potato chips, a Moon Pie, and a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) beer, but got no takers. We sat up on the balcony, which we had all to ourselves and with a nice view to the main floor below. Our waitresses were down home friendly, hard working, and good at what they were doing. Wow! Just Wow! We saw a fantastic 3 piece here! A guy with a base, a drum set and a Stratocaster and they tore the roof off the place! Not difficult to get a drink here, which was surprising given the massive crowd. It's a narrow, cool spot with a tiny stage and it all just works! What a fantastic time we had here! This was probably my favorite honky tonk of all the bars I visited along Broadway (and no, I didn't go into all of them). It's small and doesn't have a DJ or 73,000 people crammed onto the rooftop bar. In fact, it doesn't even have a rooftop bar, or even an accessible rooftop. It does have a smallish second floor. The live band was great during our visit. There were no seats available downstairs so we planted ourselves upstairs and enjoyed the music, the drinks, and the food. Of course, we had to get the "Recession Special" (fried bologna sandwich, chips, moon pie, and a PBR, all for $6). Honestly, I could have easily devoured two complete specials but I am currently watching my girlish figure. The sandwich was good and much better than you might think. The drinks are strong here and the prices are reasonable. It's small, intimate, has great live music, strong drinks, and good bologna. I know it's not the hippest of joints but if you want an enjoyable place to enjoy very good live country music, make sure you come here. read more

Loved this spot! We had a late lunch at a dive bar and asked the server where he thought we should go next. He said Robert's Western World, so off we went! We were referred here by the receptionist at the country museum in Bristol! I'm so glad we followed her advice. The music was authentic country with upright bass and fiddles. This is the best bar if you like classic country music definitely on Broadway if not in all of Nashville. One of the few family owned establishments that have been doing it for decades. The environment is fantastic, the prices are great and the staff and music will keep you coming back. I've visited every establishment on the lower Broadway strip, and by far this one stands out for numerous reasons. This was similar to another bar we visited but I did like this one better. Upon entering, I immediately felt the liveliness. The band was playing good music and crowd reflected that. Over our 4 nights we probably popped in a few times, but one time on Sunday afternoon, needed grub, we headed over for cheaper beer (2.50 for M.H.L or PBR) and a $10 burger. The vibes were on point! It was packed though, lucky we had a large group that was able to make it upstairs and eventually clear out that entire small space for our group so it was almost like renting a place.
