I'm a business person, it takes a lot for me to go on Google and place a negative one star rating…read morefor any business because I know how difficult it is to operate any business, as a matter of fact this is the only time I have ever done this. I had an appointment for my dog at this establishment, not my first one. I was away on a business trip, my wife brought our dog for a complete grooming and bath for our Australian Terrier Poodle mix Annie. The appointment was for noon and the pickup time was between 2-3PM. My wife showed up to pick up Annie a little early sometime around 2:30PM and walked in while she was still being groomed. Sarah the owner/groomer was about halfway through grooming Annie, she was not happy that my wife showed up a little early, instead of saying, please come back in thirty minutes or longer, she stopped grooming Annie (she was barely half done!) and told my wife she could not continue grooming her because Annie was too excited about seeing my wife at the door (all the grooming is completed in the front of the studio) my wife asked her to complete the grooming, she refused and she did NOT offer to finish the grooming another day, she wanted my wife to pay for the full grooming, and she did, which I am also unhappy about! Annie looks horrible she literally is barely half groomed with the hind legs completed and up to halfway to her middle, the rest of her is about full length. Today I found another groomer to complete the grooming for Annie. I found this behaviour by Sarah extremely unprofessional for a business owner toward a customer who has been coming in for the grooming service she provides for a couple of years, this is really unprofessional behavior period, even if I was a first time client. For this reason I cannot recommend this establishment for dog grooming services again, this type of behavior toward established customers, or any customer, shows that this business does not appreciate their customers, maybe because she has a lot of them and is not worried about losing a few here and there, book an appointment at your own risk here.

After 2 hours of driving to fix their mistake, the owner Chad refused to apologize, refund, or take accountability and claimed a quick 20-minute brush counted as the full service deshedding. Details: We scheduled a deshedding appointment for our dog the week of the 9th for Friday afternoon. At pickup, I noticed my dog was not fully dry, and the total charge was $55 instead of the $70 we previously paid for a deshedding service. When I asked Eric about the price difference, he assured me the deshedding had been completed and that the groomer simply adjusted the price because my dog was not shedding as much. Later that evening, my dog was shedding more than before the appointment. The following morning (Saturday the 14th), I contacted the owner, Chad, who apologized and asked us to return Tuesday or Wednesday after 5 p.m. so he could correct the issue personally. We drove from Mount Pleasant (30 minutes each way) on Tuesday, but Chad was not present. Eric took our dog back for approximately 20 minutes and later acknowledged that the deshedding service had not been performed. He showed us the amount of hair removed and stated he would inform Chad so the situation could be made right. After not hearing back for several days, we contacted Island Pet again regarding a resolution, including the time spent driving to correct the mistake. During that conversation, Chad was defensive, raised his voice, and stated there would be no refund, credit, or further resolution. He claimed the 20-minute brushing session qualified as a deshedding service, defining it as de-shed shampoo, time to sit, followed by blow drying and brushing. However, that full process was not performed during the original appointment. We booked and expected a deshedding service but were instead charged for a basic wash, plus tip, and spent two additional hours driving.

3.5 stars. They responded promptly and fit my two dogs in. I asked for both of them to get a bath,…read morenails clipped and for my husky mix Fritz, to get a deshedding brush. I was impressed with the place. It was clean. It looked nice. I saw a happy customer coming and going. I think the pricing was fair. Couple of things, though that didn't exactly work. They called me and told me the dogs were done and that I could come pick them up at any time about an hour and a half after I dropped them off. OK I'm thinking that's a short time for two dogs. I came to pick them up about 15 minutes later - Not ready. I waited 15 minutes at the front desk, no one was there. I waited another 10 minutes and the manager came out. once I told them who I was before they went and got my Fritz, he looked great. Sophie wasn't ready. They tried to bring her she's a small Maltese . The person at the front desk stopped. Made them take her back. Now it's 35 minutes I've been waiting and I take them and I put them in the car and Sophie's clean, but her face is dirty - Fritz looks great. Sophie looks like she dried wet after rain. They probably forgot I had two dogs. They let me know when Fritz was almost done so I could come get him and they likely forgot my Maltese. I brought her home - I washed her face and cleaned her up. All this would be just a bad day for them, I could be more clear next time. Except one thing - they forgot to give me her leash and I texted them. I asked for the leash and why her face was dirty. No response.
