My partner and I visited this location on a slow Tuesday night. We ordered two catfish baskets, with hushpuppies, fries, and lemonade. The food came out fresh to order. The catfish was large in size and extra crispy. It was lacking a little bit of flavor but not too bad. The string fries were great and large in portion. The hushpuppies and the lemonade were the stars. The hushpuppies were crisp and had a really nice flavor. The lemonade was the best I've ever had! I think I had about 3 refills. Don't go for the crawfish!!! I can't stand more than anything when a restaurant puts "live crawfish" signs out and the crawfish was live..... like at least three months ago. You can tell a huge difference from crawfish that was cooked live that day vs crawfish that has been bought precooked and soaked again. And then to charge $8.95/lbs which is a lot more than most legit establishments. The crawfish were tiny, the head butter was stale and the mudbugs were rancid. I went to Flying Fish with a friend and we very much enjoyed our meal. We shared both our plates so we could try as much as possible. The quantity of food was outrageous. We had the Vera Cruz Snapper and the grilled Rainbow Trout. Both were delicious. I was a little disappointed the snapper was only offer fried. It was a whole fish. My friend loves the head and the crispy fins etc, I am not a fan.... She thought the fish tasted a little muddy for a salt water fish. I feel it had to do with the frying. The trout was delicious. This place is packed before 6p on a Friday night. It is a self serve joint... stand in a long line, order at the counter, and find a seat. The unfortunate aspect is that many grab a table as soon as they arrive while half of their party orders, which leaves those who arrived first without seating... please be considerate and not "that" guy. I got the Grouper Sandwich and my son got Catfish, and I almost fell over when I saw the tab for $44! I have been to 48 of the 50 states, 4 Continents, and numerous Countries that specialize in the type of sandwiches they serve, and this was without equal on the saddest sandwich with the 4 tiniest bits of meat I have ever seen and at some of the most exorbitant prices. There wasn't an ounce and a half of meat! Even with this horrendously ridiculous spacing between the meat, there was still at least 1/3 of the bun with no protein and very limited amount of salad on it. It was burned on one side and soft on the other, and the sandwich was in such disarray that it looked like it was made from a distance of 5 feet with dressings thrown at it, and whatever hit it was fine, because it just wasn't complete. I almost broke out laughing from disgust. But, I didn't want to make a scene in front of my son. I called later and the girl at the counter remembered me and said she would take care of it and remove it from my bill. This didn't happened and I called again a month later to follow up, promising again it would be handled. It hasn't been, so I've spent my time steering people clear of this place in my business. There just appears to be a lack of concern for customer quality, value and satisfaction. Everything looked haphazardly done, lackadaisical, people unaware, just a lack of concern and then lack of follow through. I cannot recommend this place or their food. How does this place possibly have so many good reviews? It absolutely is the worst place I've been in over 5o years of paying for my own meals! read more

David David David. David is the cashier at the place. I brought 5 guest here to eat fro out of town. David gave one of my guest a one stamp fishing license. That license was given to me since he's out of town. I then asked David to transfer that ONE stamp to my license and an all out argument ensued. David insisted that he would not transfer the stamp and I was certain he could since they've done it many times before, every store has. I just feel that for the price the quality of food should have been better. I also noticed on the receipt that they added $1 to donate to Ukraine, I am not opposed to donating but I don't appreciate it being automatically added. This is our second time and both times I got the fish tacos with red beans and rice . My red beans and rice were cold and gross. Fish tacos were warm but not hot. We ordered the oysters. They are 75 cents on Sunday . They asked if we wanted the oysters out first and we said yes. My husband looks at our receipt and we were shorted 6 oysters. They did make it right and gave us 12 for the price of 6. When our buzzer went off I went to pick up our oysters and nope no oysters . Our main course . They came out way late . I think this place is struggling. Rodeo goats patio was packed . This place not at all. Maybe the same experience as we had today. Prob won't go back. So disappointed. read more

Cole Slaw was incredibly bland - what is it about Cole Slaw that so many strike out on? How about spiking it up with something. Go talk to the Colonel or something. At least the Hush Puppies were decent. Wife had the Ceviche which, again, was terribly bland. Lobster Stew - yuck - not even close. Prices were definitely too high for what you get. Someone said that Long John Silvers was a better choice. And, I'd have to agree. For $12 we could have had a much better meal. At almost $50 - this was one of my worst dining decisions I've ever made. Seriously do not know how places like this survive. Too bad. A great place but for the food. That ain't gonna work. No complaints! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu was extensive. The establishment was clean and well decorated with a casual fishing vibe. Halotus and I split a cup of the lobster stew... It was hot and delicious with a lot of veggies and they didn't skimp on the lobster. We also split the Hog Wallow platter... The catfish, oysters and shrimp were tasty with the "snappy" seasoning option. The platter also came with fries and hush puppies, both were quite good. Halotus had two draft beers served ICE cold. Had two great experiences and one horrible experience that prompted this review. First two times the service was great and food was good. Third time, they got my order wrong and the catfish fillets were thin and tasted muddy. Sides were good. Called back and was assured that they would take the charges off for the part of the order they got wrong. Surprise, they charged me the whole amount!
