Tried one of their limited time items; the smoky and wild Alaskan salmon bruschetta. Not my favorite. The salmon was not the star of the show, red onions were. The bruschetta was not crispy and the overall flavor profile had me thinking ham sandwich. Our poor server was in the weeds, running from table to table, seemingly understaffed. My hub loved his selection. He got the a salmon on a bed of garlic noodles with spinach and artichoke and asparagus on the side. If you knew my hub, you'd probably think I was lying. This was our first time trying Rockfish, which is surprising because we've been here 2 years and I'm just now stumbling on this place. I doordashed, so I can't speak to the service or ambiance. I ordered a bowl of gumbo, brussel sprouts and my son ordered the blackened fish market salmon with cilantro lime rice and broccoli, and then we had bread pudding to share. Everything was delicious! The appetizers today were 1/2 off. Except, for the crab cakes and oysters. Go figure, those are the ones worth a dang to order. The majority of the appetizers are greasy. Used to love their fish tacos, now it's just scraps of thin pieces of fish tails put into a taco. Especially disappointing when buying for others to treat them when they go through a stressful time or are working on your home and trying to show your appreciation. Ordered it to go and asked for a couple of extra sauce, came home and there was no sauce, since I bought it for others I went back to pick the sauce up, still no extra and barely any to cover the orders I bought. Maybe I'll still go to eat in the place so things can be addressed but definitely got scratched of our last supper list before my kids leave after visiting, and def won't get take out fish tacos anymore. My wife and I went tonight and it was really good. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. We love the chalkboard specials hanging around the restaurant and open concept kitchen. My wife had the campfire grilled shrimp and she really liked it, she got a full sized grill roasted corn on the cob and she said tasted great even with us at the end of the corn season. I got the oysters Rockefeller and built my own boil with crab, corn, new potatoes, and andouille sausage. Man, it was good! We loved everything about the food here!! On the day we visited, it was right around 4 pm on a Friday and it wasn't crowded at all. We were quickly seated and served our drinks. We took a little time to decide what we wanted though. My mother had the fried seafood and I opted for salmon. Our food was delicious!! We also had the crab cake appetizer, which came with an aioli sauce. Yummy!! After eating the appetizer, we barely had room for our entrées. My salmon was cooked to perfection and went well with the Pontchartrain sauce. I didn't realize that it's served over rice. Had I known, I would've picked a different side than the red beans, which has more rice! It was okay. My mother's dish was extremely good. I loved the way they fried the catfish. Even she was excited about it...she danced a bit like a kid in a candy store. That's how I know the food is good to her. Lol She ordered the bread pudding dessert to go. We had a long wait before being helped by the Bar Tender Bret. He was so pleasant and apologetic! He offered to comp our appetizer because nobody knew we were seated. While eating our delicious food a cock roach walked across the table. He asked if we were okay because we immediately moved our food to another table. I advised him what we saw and he saw it too. He spoke to his Manager and was advised that they exterminated this morning. I loved the food but now I am kind of grossed out. Careful... specials are really deceptive and deceiving! For example the crawfish special they have for Thursday has a picture of a couple of ears of corn. Special does not include corn even though it is pictured. Also, if you need to order gluten-free do not order from the gluten-free menu because they jack up the prices on those menu items. A couple of them were a little cold on the inside but still melted and tasted excellent! Definitely recommend this appetizer. I ordered the Cajun Pasta...STAY AWAY! It does NOT taste like pasta but rather some sort of pine cleaning solution! I took one bite and sent it back and got the fish and chips which was very good and can't find anything bad about. Just a good white fish. My wife got the crab stuffed salmon, which is not a "stuffed" fish, but rather two pieces of salmon with a crab cake in the middle on a bed of herbed Orzo. First we tried sitting outside, but we didn't see anybody for 10 mins. So we got up and went inside and only saw our server maybe twice. We were never brought out water or asked how we were doing at any point during our meal. I also felt that we were cheated out of food/ money.
