We ordered take out. Bang bang shrimp came with rice and it was really banging. Perfect amount of spicy if you love spicy food. Soft shell crab with fries fried basket was also bomb. We shared a cup of gumbo and it was alright. Wouldn't say it was the best gumbo I've had because I'm picky but it was doable for Dallas. A group of 10 of us went to The Boiling Crab last week to celebrate on of my girlfriends birthdays. All staff were super nice and welcoming to our group of 10. We walked in and filled out the iPad waitlist form. When we walked the restaurant was packed with zero seats available but we still only waited about 15ish minutes. We explained to staff that we were celebrating a birthday and they dat us in the corner so we wouldn't disturb others. They even allowed us to bring outside cupcakes in to celebrate her birthday. I actually really enjoyed our experience here. My friends love boils so they were living their best lives. I don't love boils so I was excited about the fried options. Unfortunately, every item I wanted they were out of that day. I settled for the calamari and don't get me wrong they were ok but it's not what I had my taste buds set for that night. I have been coming to TBC for years during crawfish season but today we decided to try their new rolls. We got the lobster roll which is lobster chunks covered in the whole shabang sauce in 2 rolls of Hawaiian Bread. We also got the shrimp poboy. Out of the two I would recommend the poboy because the sauce coating the shrimp was delish, similar to a Baja shrimp/ dynamite shrimp sauce. For me the sauce on the lobster was a bit overpowering as I like a more delicate lobster roll. All rolls come with either lemon pepper fries or Cajun fries - we opted for the Cajun fries which were perfectly crispy and seasoned. We also got the snow crabs which are always a hit! I thought flavor wise it was a little more on the salty side. We also got the soft shell crab and it came with fries. I thought the crawfish was fairly small but also it is not in season so they only had frozen crawfish. I loved the soft shell crab, the server gave us three different sauces and I'm not sure which one it was but it wasn't ketchup or cocktail sauce, but it was delicious. Service was excellent and the dining area was spotless. My go to spot no longer sell King Crab. That's okay because this is it. I got a pound of king crab and a 1/2 pound of shrimp. Never coming back to boiling crab worst customer service ever we went early when they first opened. We brought back seafood boil. While me and my husband were eating our left overs that be brought back we found a HUGE FLY. Mind you I don't have flys in my house. I called the day after and I had the worst manager she said that the fly probably came from my house. MIND YOU I HAVENT SEEN A FLY IN MONTHS. Stopped by for lunch on Saturday (6-6-2026), still not too busy. I asked the server how the crawfish size was, the answer was medium. So I ordered 3 lbs Garlic butter crawfish and also 1 doz of oysters to start. Oyster showed up promptly, because they were pre-schucked instead of freshly shucked. I could see the color of the oysters was dull instead of watery-look because they were dried up being stored in the fridge. When the crawfish showed up, they were not medium, they were more like medium small crawfish mixed with about 20% of small ones. This outfit was also trying to cut corner by just giving you a plastic back to put the crawfish shells, while all other crawfish joints I've been to would provide a bowl to hold the shells. Service was slow, never saw the waiter again except the manager stopping by once to re-fill the ice tea. Overall, it was not a good experience, contrary to how people had been raving about in the past (especially for the one used to be near Walnut). read more

First time going. Party of 2, waited 45 mins for a table. They did bring out our food 10 mins after we ordered so that was great! We had shrimp and snow crab legs, our order literally came with more "shrimp heads" than the whole shrimp so that was disappointing.. flavor is good though. Cajun fries are AMAZING. We've been to this location numerous times and really enjoy the food. We decided to come in on Tuesday Feb 25 with 4 adults and 2 kids. Half of the tables were already cleaned with the chairs on top of them and we were told it was a 35 minute wait. It also looked like another family was waiting and more people walked in when we walked out. Very odd that they close half of the tables when they seem very busy and this is at 7pm when they close at 10pm. Ownership should be ashamed that they have 2 hosts explaining this instead of having one of them become a server, which isn't very hard for a crab restaurant. We won't be recommending or going back anytime soon to this location which is pretty sad because we spend $350-$500 each time plus a hefty tip for the "service." read more

I placed a to-go order while literally sitting in the parking lot, got the "ready for pickup" notification, walked inside, and somehow still ended up with cold crab legs and undercooked, rubbery shrimp. At this point, the only thing Boiling Crab Plano consistently gets right is... the corn. Congrats, I guess? When I spoke to the female manager, she didn't even pretend to care. Instead, she got instantly defensive and started rattling off some imaginary timeline that didn't match reality. I was sitting right outside the entire time, but sure, go ahead and rewrite history. The dismissive attitude was honestly more disappointing than the cold seafood. And what makes it worse? This isn't even the first time. My family and I have dined in multiple times, and on several occasions our food still came out cold. So yes, we actually frequent this location, or at least we used to. You'd think being regulars would get us better service, not cold meals and incorrect excuses. At this point, I'm done giving this Plano location the benefit of the doubt. I went last night with family and food was okay. Their sauce is good & they're not stingy with the amount they give you. However, I left a personal item on the table. After realizing, I went back in within 5 minutes and they stated that they threw it away. I know that it was my fault but this is where they got me... The manager or team lead said her name was Nee, handed me a pair of blue gloves and told me to go out back and check in the 3 dumpsters. I was flabbergasted. I could not believe what I was told. Being my first time, I was extremely exited. they were out of most of the crabs the dishes I they wouldn't let us substitute the french fries for anything else so every dish we got fries as if we needed more didn't get trays to put your in. want us to throw them on the table which all of us weren't having the same thing that would've looked very messy and very nasty and my son is allergic to shellfish that wouldn't have been good for him. I don't go to a restaurant to hear no over and over and over again. The biggest issue is when I asked about the gumbo I asked her was it good? Could I have a small sample before I ordered it? We love the Boiling Crap. The staff is always very knowledgeable and helpful. A few things we've noticed after visiting several times. The food comes out very quickly. If you order online, arrive very quickly. If you don't, it may be cold by the time you pick it up. The options for flavoring and heat level is also very comprehensive. The heat level is there.
