Looking for somewhere different to eat in the area, came across Flynn mainly for the large craft beer menu. I knew even with mediocre food I could at least have a good pint. Fortunately I was very happy with everything here. It's a loud Irish pub with with some really hearty sandwiches and burgers and a large variety of bar snacks and appetizer but wierldy not to many full entrees. Me and wife got huge fried chicken and steak tip sandwiches with sweet potatoes and regular fries both on point. Go for the pretzel bun. Shits fire Drinks and dinner ran to 70 bucks for 2. Service was friendly and fast but the one glaring omission to the well crafted sandwiches were the lack of a nice dill pickle on the side? Are there pickles in Ireland? I came here yesterday for some beers around 5.30. It was slow then but by the time I left at 7 a steady stream of folks had arrived. No doubt they were taking advantage of the TUE burger special which is 2 for $12 From the looks of the menu burgers is a big deal here. From the looks of the burgers the couple next to me got and from thier delight in chowing, burgers are a solid choice at Flynns. I had dinner waiting at home though so I passed. Flynn's is a cozy Irish pub in downtown Mansfield that has plenty of seating and a really big bar. The décor is traditional and the vibe is casual blue collar. Nice 90's era rock playing courtesy of Pandora brought back memories. There's also a separate dining room that looks comfortable too. No problem parking as I was there early but later patrons may have to find something on the street as the lot is small. Extremely friendly bartenders were helpful and knowledgeable about the beers. A local brewery 6A is owned by the owners of Flynns and the beer is well represented on thier list of 45 beers that run the gamut from diferent types of Ales, Porters, IPA's, fruits and seasonals. How I select my beers to drink is pretty simple I take the IPA list first and just google the selections and make note of the average ratings on Beer Advocate. Anything that is 4.0 or greater indicates a superior beer. The Brewmaster Jack "Beerly Deloved" was a nice start and an IPA that I would seek out at my local package store. Followed up with a Maine Beer "Zoe". It's one of the better red ales that I've had. Last beer was the Sierra Nevada "Celebration" not a local beer and easily found but always tasty. All in all a good experience. I wouldn't hesitate to come back for more beer and next time I will snag a burger for sure. read more

My friends and I walked in here after a concert and weren't greeted at all so seated ourselves. We waited about 15 minutes before we realized we were being ignored so we went to the bar to order food and drinks. Abruptly we were yelled at by the angry bartender who drunkenly spit out "table needs a waitress". Ok we we waited for the waitress to come over and yell rudely ok what do you guys want. We were shocked and orderd shots and food. She said no shots we don't allow such drinks. So we decided no shots and poor and no service that resembles that they care so we said ok just the drinks and the bill. We've been here several times now and I can honestly say that Flynn's has been consistently exceptional! The food, the drink, the atmosphere and the staff are all awesome. This place was once my favorite burger, but since the pandemic it's become a shell of it's former self. It gets 3 stars because the food is still decent, but it used to be phenomenal, unlike any burger I had ever had with it's unique seasoning and toppings. So happy to have a Irish Pub back in Mansfield. The new owner built this place right! Loved it from the moment we sat down - the atmosphere is clean and the servers attentive. All of the classics are there - belly warming food and a beer selection that is amazing! Be there to have an experience - but warn you the serving portions are generous and you may have to make multiple visits to experience it all. Start with the Rueben Egg Rolls (they are hot, so be careful) - but all elements remind you of a classic Rueben - the sauce is amazing! Have your first pint with this one - from Ciders to all types of Ales - and if you are not sure - try a "flight of beers" and sample away. You have all the comfort foods - Shepherd's Irish Pie (my daughters favorite) to the best fish and chips in town (sorry Fresh Catch) - the batter is light, the filet of fish amazing large and plentiful and so fresh and flaky you feel like you are in Ireland. Oh did I forget the mashed potatoes and gravy - the BEST anywhere! Compliments any dish you have there. You won't be disappointed for a lunch an dinner at Flynn's. If you are a beer drinker - join the "beer club'! Then on live entertainment night - come to enjoy a great meal and performance. Only disappointment - parking is limited - but you can use the street. Doing It Right A friend suggested this place to me a couple of weeks ago. I'll have to say, what a pleasant surprise. Flynn's is a cozy Irish Pub style restaurant with a large bar and a cool fireplace. The menu is filled with pub items that are done with a little higher level flair. Flynn's specialty is burgers. They have a multitude of combinations and they are all made with fresh burger and a pretzel bun. The other thing to go for is the beer selection, they have 15 beers on tap and several are eclectic craft beers. This is a neat little pub, and I will be back. Excellent tap list, leaning toward local craft, which is not a bad thing! Had the Donegal burger, and it has me thinking that a grilled burger MUST be accompanied by peanut butter, lol. Burger was cooked to order and was delicious. Onion rings could have been a tad crispier, but still very good. Only downside was that most of the better beers were 12 oz. pours instead of 16 oz, regardless of their ABV. read more

Before the pandemic my boyfriend and I would go once every week or 2. Last weekend (only our second time back since March!), our waiter, Matt, recognized us from before the pandemic, asked how we'd been, helped us navigate the updated menu, and was overall amazing. I had the chili burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was gigantic and cooked perfectly rare/medium rare. It was super juicy, but the pretzel bun kept things together. Their buffao+garlic wings were pretty excellent too. It was just a tastier version of Franks Red Hot on wings that were super juicy (though they could have been cooked a little longer to crisp up the skin). From out of state - decided to try. First off, beer is really expensive ($6-$8 for a pint). They only had 1 amber/red type of beer, and it wasn't craft. That was disappointing to me. Since we stopped on a Thursday, it was their Irish Faire that was only $9.99. The portions were large, but food was mediocre. I've had much better Shepherds Pie at other places. I've recently been to Ireland so my exceptions were high. Flynn's Irish pub didn't disappoint. They have a great beer selection for the young hipster crowd. We ordered the hot pickles as an appetizer. For our party of 3 they were a good side and they were hot hot hot as advertised ( came out very quick). Ordered the Kilkenny burger as my main. Came out med rear as I ordered, very large sized patty with thick strips of bacon, and a solid amount of cheese. The pretzel bun threw me for a loop (a little to buttery) at one point it slipped out of my hand. Had the buffalo fries as a side, we've had some pretty good buffalo fries in the past so seeing them on the menu got the whole party excited. They were regular fries tossed in buffalo sauce leaving alot to be desired. Overall the location, parking, and decor were fantastic and certainly worth a try for anyone in the area. read more

My husband and I's new favorite spot in Mansfield! We're so lucky to live only five minutes away from this place! We've been there twice so far. The first time was on a Sunday afternoon and there was a little bit of a wait for a table so we sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and helpful (don't remember his name). My husband got the fried pickles as an appetizer, which were really good. We both got burgers; probably the best burgers we've ever had! The fries are amazing as well. I also got a mimosa that was good. The second time we went was last night (Friday). There was no wait for a table so we were seated right away. The staff was over-the-top welcoming. Our main waiter, Jason, was so nice and friendly. We had additional waitresses come up to us to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. This time, we got buffalo wings as an appetizer, which were BOMB, & then burgers as our entrees. They came out very fast & were amazing again. Both times, there was live music. I visited this place for the first time a few weeks ago with my boyfriend and his parents. When we walked in, it seemed to be very busy (a good sign), but we managed to be seated right away. Our server, whose name I believe was Evan, was great. He was very attentive and accommodating. We had the Reuben spring rolls for an appetizer and they were delicious. For my entree, I chose a burger that had, if I recall, lemon aioli, roasted garlic, gruyere cheese, and caramelized onions. It was soo good, there were big chunks of garlic. We ate here for the first time last week and we all walked away raving about our meals. The Rubin eggrolls are TO DIE FOR. I don't like thousand island dressing, not a fan of sauerkraut or corned beef and yet somehow this dish was simply mouthwatering. Our one complaint was the outrageous price. I got what I think was called "The McNamara", which was basically a bacon burger with Jack cheese. I'm kind of particular about french fries and asked what the options were. Bartender said they had "regular fries" and also "sweet potato wedges". I went for the regular fries. The burger came out of the kitchen way too quick to be medium, but I'm OK with a little rare so I didn't complain. It was pretty pink though and the bacon was just 1 super thin slice. Not much to it for the price and didn't taste like anything special to me really. Just mediocre bar food. The fries were not "regular fries" as I know them, but were those battered kind and they sort of tasted like they'd been sitting out for a while. Maybe battered fries are regular fries in Mansfield though. Anyway, wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either. I'd go again, but it would be for the expansive beer offerings. read more

Flynn's is a new Irish themed pub that is in the space that used to be Casey o'conners. Pretty much the same interior layout, but fresh paint and decor. My wife and I have now been there twice. Both times we were able to sit in the bar area, and staff was courteous. The highlight of this pub is the extensive rotating draft beer offerings. Over 40 choices. You won't find run of the mill beer here. It's pretty much all craft brews. Wine list is also extensive. The food? Flynn's has a basic two sided single sheet menu that offers all the "pub food" you'd expect from a pub. Burgers, finger food, etc. I had a burger first trip, and a chicken sandwich second visit. Both were good pub fare. My wife had fish and chips that had light breading (not a crusty, greasy shell). All in all, this will be our choice in Mansfield for a "pub night out". read more

I ventured out to Mansfield to visit some friends who have left Boston for suburban life. I scoffed when they mentioned their "favorite pub," doubting that as one moves further and further away from Boston, the dining establishments become less and less tasty. I was wrong (I'm even admitting it here, online!) - Flynn's is the type of place that instantly feels cozy and New Englandy - like your elementary school friend's Irish dad will coincidentally be at the bar, raising a beer when you walk in, and yet it's also very clean and modern. Back to the noshes - it was Two for Tuesday Burger Night, and the burger selection was expansive. I got the "Feckin' Pepper" and while my friends warned me that it was very hot, I casually brushed their warnings aside and retorted with "psshhfffffhh I'm Indian, whatever." The burger was served up on a pretzel bun with warm fries and it was delicious. Half way through the burger, I had to set it down and ingest 3/4 glass of water because it was in fact, very spicy. I was doubly wrong, but instead of the shameful realization of erring, my tastebuds and tummy were elated, and I was in the company of great friends who looked at me knowingly when I exclaimed gleefully over the burger. I also had a glass of Reisling (buttery, yet sort of floral) and a Framboise - my friend described it as not quite as viscous as a shake, but more than a heavy juice - it was like biting into a strawberry - delicious. Two drinks, a full plate of fries, and a delightful burger for $25 with an evening with peeps who made me laugh until my abs hurt - what more could I ask for?
