Employee Ashley went above and beyond to help get me back on my feet. I live over three hours away from this location but suffered a front tire blowout nearby. I took my car into this facility and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My tires needed to be special ordered and the estimated time would have been a day or two. Ashley heard of my situation and arranged for another employee to drive to the warehouse to pick up my replacement tires. A potential two day repair nightmare was resolved in a few hours. I had 4 tires sent for my VW GTI from tire rack. I was happy at first, well balanced and aligned, and great customer service. It's been about 2 weeks and my wife came home saying something felt very off and scary at the end of her drive. Come to see that 3 of the lug nuts are missing!! Charged me over $200 just to send me home with a car that still would not start. $100 diagnostic fee for a problem they could not and did not fix. I guess I just don't understand why they took my car and offered to work on it when I came in stating there were engine problems. I should have checked that Flynn's worked on engines (they will not), but they shouldn't have taken it to look at it if they knew they were going to send me home with a car that won't start. read more

Flynn's Tire tried to charge me $1,600 for a $300 repair. My steering wheel was beginning to feel rigid and difficult to turn. I checked my power steering fluid and saw that it was very low. I topped it off, but my steering wheel issues persisted. I took my car to Flynn's because I had previously received tires and an oil change from them at a fair price. Jeff informed me that the joint on my intermediate shaft was rusted out and would need to be replaced. He went on to say that because of this he would also need to replace my entire steering rack. Additionally, this would require him to replace my tie rod ends and my power steering pressure hose. Further, without telling me he added in a power steering fluid flush (despite me just adding all new fluid myself) - Note that they charge $80 to do this, when it cost me $4 to do it myself. He also added an $80 alignment. This all came to a total of $1,612.22 see attached photo of receipt. My dad, who is incredibly handy with cars but unfortunately lives far away, thought this seemed suspicious. He had me take my car to Meineke in Parma. I did not inform them of my experience with Flynn's, and just said I needed them to diagnose my steering problem. They said the exact same thing as Jeff from Flynn's: My intermediate shaft joint was rusted and needed to be replaced. And that was it. Cost me $331.07 see attached photo of receipt. They replaced it quickly, and it drives just like new. Afterwards I mentioned to them my experience with Flynn's and they confirmed that I absolutely did not need to replace any of the other parts they added to the list nor did I need a power steering flush or alignment. I cannot believe this man was going to con me into spending $1,600! Unbelievable. I will never go back there again, and I have already warned all my local friends of their shady ways. FYI the orange highlighting on the receipts shows the only two things that SHOULD have been charged: the intermediate shaft part and the labor costs. read more

I like Flynn's Tire. I was a little surprised to see the negative reviews. Granted, I don't know a lot about vehicle repair, so it's possible that the others know something that I don't. I've taken my truck here twice for tires. The first time, I had a puncture in my tire (unfixable) and they got me in immediately at 8am, changed it real quick, and I made it to work on time at 9am - they even asked the mechanic to work especially quick, knowing that I had to rush to work. The second time, I had the other three replaced. Their prices were cheaper than Goodyear, Firestone, and Walmart. Also, they accept Goodyear Credit Card, which is convenient for surprise repairs/maintenance. One time, my gf needed some wiring or something repaired (had something to do with her brakes. I wasn't there, so I dont know the exact problem). Flynn fixed it for $200 cheaper than what she was quoted at other places in Kent Ohio. Also, they allowed me to pay for it on my card over the phone, which was convenient. One of the other reviewers recommended Main Street Auto in Kent. In fact, I've never heard a bad word about Main Street Auto. Unfortunately, they're always very busy and they don't take Goodyear Credit Card. Flynn has been reasonably priced and has always been very timely. Notably, they are part of the echeck waiver program. If you don't know what I mean by that, then it's irrelevant to you. If you have failed echeck (or fail in the future), then an auto repair facility that's part of the echeck waiver program could potentially be very helpful. I'm not saying you should definitely take your car to Flynn's for repair or for new tires, but I recommend putting them on your short list to consider if you need those services and are in the Kent area. read more

We were there for Freshman Orientation and the pesky tire light came on. Given that I didn't wanr to be stuck on the side of the road, I called these folks and they worked me right in. The gentleman who answered the phone was courteous and incredibly accommodating. They were able to help me out and send me on my way. Classic scam artists at its finest and they will lie to you and tell you that you need to fix things that actually don't need to be fixed FYI (they tried to play me for a fool because i came in alone and as a woman they also tried to tell me that my battery tested bad and was totally dead which is a 100% LIE i immediately took my car to honda afterwards and they said my battery tested fine) i wanted to give this place a chance because they are a small local business (which i love to support) close to my school, and i thought they would be friendly and fair priced but unfortunately i learned today that that is the farthest thing from the truth. I can go on and on for days about their unprofessionalism and lack of knowledge of what they are doing, and just complete disrespect. Do yourself a HUGE, HUGE, favor especially if you are a college student and take your vehicle to the dealership, in the end it may cost you more but don't forget that you get what you pay for and it isn't always best to cut corners especially when it comes to your car and your safety. Brought my car there for a transmission leak repair. Transmission is running smoothly, but there was another situation that arose. Battery clamp was gone along with the bolts holding in the battery tray. Being a victim of a car battery fire, I was shocked to see a "professional" auto shop not only forget to replace the bolts they removed, but also have the intestinal fortitude to tell me "that's how we found it." Don't go to Flynns in Kent. No respect for their customers. read more

Been going here for years as I work at nearby KSU. Hard to beat for tires. Plus if you bought tires there they will rotate when you get an oil change for free.
