My friend went with Fogo to celebrate her 40th Birthday. When she sent me the invitation, I was surprised because I did not know they provided brunch. Nonetheless, I knew I could stay for the entirety of the event but I still went for about an hour. I arrived a little later than the majority of the attendees and they were already served their omelets and waffles. However, my friend let me know that there was one person making the omelet and it was the same person who delivered it yo the table, which meant many times people went to go get their omelets, but the station was unattended. I did not want to eat the meat, and really didn't want an omelette either, I just was fine with some mashed potatoes but I was informed I would have to do the full course since they do not just offer sides. I was confused by this but just accepted it and order mimosas and a non-alcoholic drink for the birthday girl. Even that took a long period of time. Another attendee waited over 30 minutes for her, which was comped, due to them bringing the incorrect drink. After my departure my friend's birthday continued to have issues with long wait times for drinks and meat to be served despite having the green card up. Overall, I think the restaurant looks nice, and while I understand they recently opened there just seemed to be a lot of confusion amongst the staff with how to operate. For instance, as we waited at the bar, my friend mentioned the bartender was new because she was looking at the book for drink recipes. Also, my friend was told she could not bring birthday balloons, but yet, we saw another group come in with 40th balloons for their group. We went for a quick bite on the All Day Happy Hour. The service was decent. We started out with a lady that made amazing drinks and she disappeared. I think she went on break. Wish she said I'm going on break is there anything else I can get you before I leave. Or would you mind closing out I'm heading to break. There was a 10 minute period we were unable to order anything in limbo. This $10 burger should be illegal it is so delicious! The strawberry Caipirinha was a little too sweet for my liking but the traditional Caipirinha was just right! I tried to convert back to wine and it was a no! Do not order happy hour wine they list the bottles it's my fault for not looking. Alamos is a Sutter Home cousin. Pay the extra $2 for the cocktail. Or order wine from the Main menu. Then we had a gentlemen bartender he elevated our experience and was new to NY from DC. He was there to see us through. This was my first time I will go back. Finally, Brooklyn has its own Fogo de Chao! I love my borough and I'm enamored with this restaurant. I think it's the best ambiance of all the locations in NYC. You will have to request to be seated near the bar of the restaurant to truly experience the open churrasco grill that gives guests a 360-degree view of the culinary art of churrasco as the chefs butcher, prepare and grill Brazilian meats over an open flame. I came during the soft opening courtesy of Tara and had pretty good service. The drinks were well made and the scrumptious meats were consistently being passed around. For me, it's all about the well seasoned and grilled meats. My favorite is the PICANHA (Prime Part of the Top Sirloin) which is crispy and most at the same time. During this trip, I was able to sample the PORK BELLY which was paired perfectly with honey and absolutely melts in your mouth. I'm so glad that I paced myself and was able to make it to dessert because the Tres Leche Cake was deliciously moist and full of flavor. I can't wait to come back here. I went here for my nephews graduation lunch, because he requested steak. Lol. To be honest, i used to love fogo. It was my go to restaurant for birthdays or any celebration. Nowadays, it just doesn't seem to hit the same way anymore. The meats weren't as good, it was a bit bland, and although the meats are unlimited, It seems to always be the same cut that came around. Went at a Tuesday lunch time and it wasn't crowded at all so got seated instantly. Waitress explained the card (2 sided) to use for servers to know if you still want to keep the roasts coming or not. They have a side bar that contains a lot of choices so you won't get bored of just roasts. Smoked salmon, tomato basil mozzarella, fruits, salads, charcuterie, rice, soups, etc. Since we went for the lunch menu, we had the sirloin steak, lamb, chicken, etc. But my favorite was lamb, the flavoring of it was nice and really tender. There were some pieces we had that felt to be a bit tough or dry. Servers were really nice, explaining the cut every time they brought roasts over. They also serve the mashed potato, Brazilian bread, and caramelized bananas per table which is way too much food, although the mashed potato was good and I had that with the roasts. Place is beautiful with a huge wall of alcohol and high ceiling and sofa seats per table with crystal lights. The female bathroom only had one working stall at the time. Came here on a Saturday night for an ex coworker's farewell dinner. We were a large party and we also received the menu for the night. The overall ambience of the place was meh at best. I felt that the lighting was too dim and if you want to take a picture? Either forget about it or have your own personal light. The salad bar was okay, nothing I would go back again and again for. The meats - I wish I could say they were spectacular (bc I paid a lot for what little I ate) but it was also very meh. Not only did I have trouble hearing the guys bringing the meats around (I have an aversion to lamb so I need to ask what it was) but by the time I did hear and would like a piece, off they went. We came here for Sunday brunch to celebrate our anniversary. I made reservations, but it wasn't very busy anyways when we arrived. For $48 per person, this included the rotating meats that came around and the market vegetable. Since it was brunch, they also had custom waffles and omelette, but I'd skip those since it's filling. The meats ranged from filet mignon to lamb. Some of the meats were too well done for my liking, but still a good deal for AYCE meat. Even though you're here for the meat, I really enjoyed the vegetable and fruits --especially the beet and green juices! Happy hour is also offered all day on the weekends, which was such a great perk to enjoy with your meal. I had the Strawberry Hibiscus Caipirin ($10), which was nice and refreshing. By the end of the meal, we were both overly stuffed. Even though we were so full, we got the Cheesecake Brulee ($11.50) for dessert. Always been a fan of Fogo De Chao, so when I found out that they were opening a location in Brooklyn, I was super excited. The restaurant is spacious and definitely nicer than the midtown locations. One problem I've always had with Fogo De Chao is that the salt level is kind of high when it comes to certain cuts of meat. But you learn and avoid getting those cuts. Now when it comes to service, you definitely get better service if you're seated to the main area. We never got all of the sides that were included and when asked about it, they said they'll bring it, but it never did. The people who bring around the meat have a certain exit, so if you happen to sit farther away from the exit, most of the good cuts rarely get to your table. So you end up sitting around waiting for people to come by. Always fun to do but the service and idling makes the price tag of Fogo not worth paying at this location. Came here after a big event for a party of 4. We arrived an hour early and they were able to accommodate us. I've been to the Midtown location before, so I knew what to expect. Once seated, they give you a rundown of all the meats and what was included. We went with the full menu, so we were able to get food from their bar and the meats that came around as well. The meat just kept coming!!! Before you know it, your plate is filled with different types of meats. You can always decline and flip the card they give you to red. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had, especially for a place like Fogo de Chão. Our server had a clear attitude from the start and provided almost no service the entire night. We had to repeatedly flag him down just to get basic things like water. He forgot multiple drink orders, and my sister didn't receive her drink until nearly closing time, even after several reminders. That's completely unacceptable. The service only got worse from there. The staff walking around with the meats consistently skipped our table while serving the tables directly in front of and behind us. We even spoke up about it, and it STILL continued to happen. At that point, it felt intentional and extremely disrespectful. To top it off, we never received the dessert that was included with our meal, and my cousin barely had anything to eat the entire time because the servers weren't coming to our table. The only reason she ate at all was because I shared my food from earlier. For the prices you charge, this level of service is beyond unacceptable. Okay... so I've been to this location twice at at the point of this review. My first experience was for Saturday brunch and it was great! I love me the combination of brunch options combined with the full Brazilian experience. The service was on point and the cocktails were mixed to perfection. My birthday was in early November and my mom treated me to dinner. She asked me where I wanted to go and the first place that popped in my head was Fogo de Chao. I've been to the location in the city, but it's nice being able to dine somewhere and be home in 20 minutes. We made reservations for 7 pm but due to two private parties, we still had to wait--luckily, it wasn't too long (maybe 10 minutes). We opted for the Churrasco Experience. I'm a big fan of the market table and Feijoada bar! Their brown sugar and pepper bacon was out of this world. I couldn't get enough. On the other hand, my mom thought it was too sweet. As most people know, you're supposed to turn the card over to green if you want meat and red if you need a break but after a while, the servers would still come over regardless of what card you had flipped. The food was delicious. My mom really loved the crispy polenta and the plantains. For beverages, we got wine--I got the red blend and my mom got the Malbec. I also wanted to try the Brazilian lemonade. It was okay--I thought it could use more flavor, maybe some kind of essence. While I was getting food from the market table, the manager came over and spoke to my mom--she told her that it was my birthday, and we were celebrating. My mom wanted to leave room in her belly for dessert--which was a really good idea because we got the trés leches, and it was so good. Since my mom told them that it was my birthday, they comped the dessert--that's always a nice gesture. It was quite lively inside but not to the point of being too much. My girlfriend and I came to Fogo De Chao as a nice little date night, but were left with more to be desired. Service was less than ideal, our server that started off with us was inattentive and we had to keep calling her over. How many times do you have to ask for your drink that you ordered at the beginning of your meal? Apparently 4 times! The only silver lining to the dinner, and who arguably saved the meal from being a flop, was server Esteban! He was on top of his game and gave us the meats we had been waiting on all service. Was also invited to their soft opening event a couple weeks ago and while there were some initial issues with scheduling, the general manager there resolved that amicably and I was seated on a following day. The layout itself is simple enough, just grab a plate and enjoy the myriad of options they have to offer from the salad bar (which obviously includes offerings besides just that haha). I particularly enjoyed the black pepper candied bacon, that was great and worth multiple trips back to the bar. I had also heard a ton about the Black beans and rice there but the portion I had wasn't particularly flavorful, maybe a product of them still testing service then. As for the meats being passed around, there were quite a few options available and I got to try most everything include filet mignon, flank steak, bacon wrapped steak, chicken thigh, lamb chops, picanha, and beef rib, including a few items that I wasn't aware was on the menu like crispy pork and cheese with honey. My preferred meats were probably the picanha and in particular the beef rib, which is probably my favorite. I'm usually a huge fan of lamb chops too but the one I got this time admittedly wasn't the best. A little dried out and without a good sear either, left me wanting a bit more. On top of that, I will say that the meat servers still came up to me sometimes, even though my button was red( meaning that I no longer wanted to be served meat). Not a big deal though, and I ended the meal off with the Tres Leches Cake which was actually much better than I expected it to be. Overall, I enjoyed the whole experience. The food was tasty overall, and the service too, a few hick ups here and there but I'm willing to place that a bit moreso on having just opened and still testing out both their FOH and BOH. I have been to other locations and I was excited to see that they were opening one downtown Brooklyn. We sat down and was in awe at how beautiful the set up is. It's a nice cozy atmosphere great for groups and or date night. Our waiter Jake came and greeted us as he stated Jake as in Jake from State Farm lol he was pretty cool, very attentive and showed my mom the ropes since she's never experienced their restaurant. We all placed our orders for our drinks and I can only remember what I ordered because we were a large group. So I got myself a glass of Prosecco and my second drink was an Amaretto Sour. My Amaretto Sour was just OK. I believe that it could've been made much better than what I received. Maybe if I was to add alcohol in it it would be top notch. We then proceeded to the salad bar, which was amazing. There's so many different selections to choose from, and right next to the salad bar was the brunch station so we ordered our omelettes which were delivered to our table and there were waffles and the best bacon I have tasted in a very long time ready to be eaten by that brunch station. The lovely lady Leslie prepared our omelettes and she did a fantastic job. As we returned to our table the gaucho chefs started to come around with different meats for us to choose from and my mom the birthday girl was in AWE. She loved everything about it. I must say that I've enjoyed everything that I have tried that night including the bacon wrapped chicken to the garlic steak, but my absolute favorite has to be the Ribeye Steak OMG it was to die for. It was nice and hot with the right amount of salt and cooked to perfection and juicy. All in all, we all had a fantastic time. My Mom enjoyed her birthday, and she also enjoyed her complimentary Cheesecake Brulé. She has made it very clear that she will be returning again, and so will I. The venue offers an intimate ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a date night. I was Eager to try the market (Buffett) bar with fresh salad, tomatoes, mushrooms, smoked salmon etc. However all of the foods at the buffet are served cold which didn't pair well with our hot entrées. Every worker that came over to the table are super friendly and kind. They seem really enthusiastic and jolly and that rubs off onto me, which I love. This location is super romantic, prefect for a date night. There are many alcoholic drinks served and I got the Caipirinha, and it was refreshing. Fogo De Chao is known for meat on a sword and it is delivered to your table and onto your plate. Although, the meat is the highlight of the night, don't skimp on the salad bar, it pairs well together with rib eye, filet mignon, parmesan pork, lamb chop and many more. Ended the night with Cheesecake Brulee and Chocolate Brigadero. If you love chocolate go for the chocolate brigadero. But the cheesecake brûlée is one of a kind. The selection of meats for the promotion include top sirloin, bottom sirloin, garlic steak, pork sausage, parmesan crusted pork, bacon wrapped chicken, leg of lamb, and grilled honey and cheese. The meats were tasty but a bit over salted. Many parts were overcooked, even though you can request any doneness you would like. I always asked for medium rare but often would get a medium or well-done piece. The meal also comes with all of the food at the buffet bar, including soups, rice, beans, vegetables, salads, fruits, cheeses, charcuterie meats, smoked salmon, and some side dishes. Once you start your meal, they bring you side of mashed potatoes, plantains, and Brazilian cheese bread. The Brazilian cheese bread was delicious and one of my favorite parts of the meal! All meats, food from the buffet bar, and sides are all you can eat. Overall, the amount and quality of the food was great for $44, but I wasn't so impressed by the food that I would return. Service: Service was extremely disappointing. I expected more from a place like Fogo De Chao. I'm not sure if they chose to give limited service to those dining for the promotion, but I was not happy. When we first sat down, it took a while for our server to come. He eventually came and filled our water but left and didn't return for a very long time. We had asked him for a cup of ice and a fork because we were missing one in the place setting. He never returned with the ice or the fork and we had to wait at least 20 minutes to find someone else to ask. We also asked for more Brazilian cheese bread but it didn't come out for another 40 minutes and that was only because we asked someone for a second time. Not only did our server not come back, but none of the meats were going around until we asked someone if we could get some meat. Either they don't have the service and operations quite figured out here or they intentionally didn't serve the section dining for the $44 promotion well which would be terrible of them to do. The slow service was disappointing and ruined the experience for the evening. Ambiance: The ambiance and decor is nice. Seating is comfortable as well. They can accommodate any size group. I ordered the Full Churrasco Experience, which featured a delicious variety of Brazilian meats including steak, filet mignon, lamb, and more--each one perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. My mom and aunt enjoyed the Indulgent Churrasco, which included all the same premium meats plus a lobster tail and a crab cake--both were flavorful and fresh. The sides like sweet plantains and creamy mashed potatoes complemented the meal beautifully. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the evening even more memorable. I especially want to recognize Hector, who went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our food and had everything we needed. He was warm, attentive, and truly made us feel welcomed. One star off because you are not allowed to take your food home. You get a great deal of food and there is no way to eat it all in one sitting. I was here a few days ago for a pharmacy dinner. We were placed in the back room, and it was packed. I kept wondering how the wait staff would maneuver around the tables when there's so little space. They managed. The salad bar had a decent selection and tasted fresh and tasty. The meats that came out were a hit or miss. Most cuts weren't seasoned/salted enough and were very bland. The prime rib was probably the best. The desserts were amazing. There were 4 different selections, and all were good. I've been here 3 times with different people and alone, allowing time and growing pains. The verdict is bar fogo only. Far too much inconsistency for me. The market table has some pretty good offerings. I always enjoy a selection there, especially the fresh greens and chicken salad. The staff is very professional, I think this is where the review gains the 3rd star. They are warm and courteous. The meat service is inconsistent. Some items were delicious, fresh, and well seasoned, and others [of the same selection) were inedible, tasting as if they had not been prepped, a "wild" taste, just thrown on a grill. The drinks, non-alcoholic, and cocktails are delicious, so fresh! The seafood is bland (sadly) and the sides were only brought to the table when there was someone with me. I've been to this location 3 times since it opened and there is a lot that needs to be fixed starting with the bathroom doors in the women's bathroom. 2 out of the 3 that I've used were broken since day one.... I checked each time. The décor is very nice, especially for a chain, it has such an upscale vibe. But the experience comes off less than that. Hopefully it gets better. read more

I forgot to add the horrible smell in the carpet. As you head toward the plates for the market table there is carpet and the stench coming from the carpet makes you.not want to eat in the restaurant. A few plates at the market table had something on the bottom of them I gave the waiter one to let him know it was dirty. I'm not going back. read more

Yesterday I attend the Brooklyn location. I was there to celebrate a friend birthday. Total 6 of us. We arrived on time and encountered a disgruntled female manager. We was told we were late but the the reservation was at 8:15. We were there at 8PM As I noticed there was a group seated to the left corner about 13-15 ppl in red and black dinning at the restaurant. I noticed they were talking about the manager and how unprofessional she was. We finally got to be seated a bit after 8:30. As we ate we noticed a commotion behind us with women from the group and the manager. The manager also had her two kids seated by the side of the door where she stood. A woman from the large group confronted the manager of $2,000 bill. The shouting began between the manager and few women from the group. It became so intense the whole restaurant started to pay attention. F bombs dropping every where as the manager and both engage in the altercation. My group and I were so worried because this altercation was very close to our table. What kind of service does this restaurant run...corporate needs to give us and others who attended the restaurant some compensation or incentive. Also train staff to not engage and deescalate situations. read more

I like Fogo De Chao, the restaurant in Carl Place, Long Island. It was my first time there. My guest didn't like the buffet style dining.

This is the 4th time It's gets better each time Rogelio is a great representation of customer service . Of course the ambiance is wonderful. I've come with family and friends and always get a well rounded of care. The food is right up my alley .. my son says he's a meat eat here but the buffet is bon appetite. read more

Went here for an event and was not disappointed! Fresh cut meats and delicious vegetables coupled with amazing cocktails, wine and non alcoholic drinks made for a fun night, with kind and attentive staff to top it off! Tyler made sure my table was taken care of as we tried the delicious famous Brazilian Queijo Assado balls, Crispy Parmesan Polents Fries (so cute!), tender Frango chicken, bacon, and Brazilian Limonada (highly recommend!!). The place has an upscale vibe with decadent seating, lighting and a beautiful bar area beside the main dining room. This place would be perfect for hosting an event like a birthday or work dinner and I'd love to return. 10/10!! read more

I haven't written a review in a while, but my experience was so poor, I was almost obligated. The was my second time going to the chain, and I was totally blown away by my initial experience from the service, decor and most importantly the food. (That lovely experience was at the queens location) However, I attended the downtown Brooklyn location as it was a little closer and more convenient as a Manhattan local. The server, while kind, constantly had a look of a deer caught in headlights, was uninformed regarding the options and menu and just overall was lax. The appetizers (we ordered the asparagus with crab/lobster)were cold to the touch, as were the biscuits - we also had to ask for refills. Granted we did not go for the traditional experience, rather we ordered the tomahawk steak medium well and it arrived 25 mins later well done, without seasoning. Just a dry bland piece of meat. Now while we were approached by a customer care specialist on 2 occasions, she promised to bring out extra sides to accommodate for the long wait and then I believe comp'd one of our drinks. She never brought the extra sides and honestly I didn't want to waste another moment in this place. Poorly run, touristy, and the food was just under sub par for a $255 bill. My daughter and I went there for happy hour. We wanted to try the food and the drinks. We sat at the bar and we had rosé wine, which was very good. We ordered the lump crabcakes and some type of potato fry. Not sure what it's called but the crab cakes weren't even cooked. I was very disappointed. I was planning on going here for my birthday this year, but I definitely won't go. However, the lady at the bar was superb so we did leave a tip for her. read more
