Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian churrascaria steakhouse that has locations throughout the world. Since 2018, I have eaten brunches, lunches, and dinners at this location many times. I always dine in, but takeout and delivery are available. Customers may choose to order appetizers, a la carte entrees, and/or the full churrasco experience of gaucho servers bringing meats to the tableside. My husband and I always order the full churrasco experience, which includes the market table (salad bar), sides, and most importantly meats such as picanha (top sirloin), Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), filet mignon, ribeye, chicken, and lamb chops. For our most recent meal, we ate at noon on a Saturday, and my husband felt disappointed that brunch was being served, because it did not include the potatoes and lobster bisque that we love. At least we got to eat lots of delicious meats. We also liked our sides of mashed potatoes, fried bananas, and polenta, although the first batch of cheesy bread was overbaked and hard so we had to ask for more. The cost was $49 per person plus tax and tip. Overall, our meals here are solidly good, so we will continue to eat here. Working out here for the NFL draft and saw Fogo was right next to where I was staying. Wasn't busy at all for a weeknight which was nice. Very friendly service with chill vibes. Ordered the Churrasco experience which is the side buffet and the meats that come out on skewers and they cut it for you table side. Buffet had many and great options including cured meats, salads, fruits, and cheese. The meat was hot and fresh off the grill. My favorites included the lamb shoulder, sausage, picanha. I went here for the first time for Thanksgiving with my family. The food was really good. The sides were amazing, we all really enjoyed them. The turkey was good but the stuffing was soupy and not edible. All of the meats came around consistently and we never had a repeat. The little charcuterie buffet area was ok. There was not a lot on it. Overall, I enjoyed myself. The restaurant was beautiful and the service was decent. I was disappointed with my experience at Fogo de Chão. For the price, I expected a much better selection and frequency of the meat service. The beef and chicken came around far too infrequently, and I spent more time waiting than actually enjoying the meal. Several of the popular cuts never seemed to make it to our table, and when they did, the portions were very small. The service overall was slow and inattentive, making the experience feel drawn out for the wrong reasons. We repeatedly found ourselves waiting for servers rather than enjoying the continuous dining experience that Fogo de Chão advertises. The salad bar was also underwhelming. While it had a decent variety, it simply doesn't compare to Texas de Brazil in Pittsburgh, which offers a fresher, more extensive selection and a much better overall dining experience. Unfortunately, this visit did not justify the premium price. Between the slow service, limited meat offerings, and disappointing salad bar, I would choose Texas de Brazil in Pittsburgh over Fogo de Chão without hesitation. read more

We waited 10 minutes for someone to arrive at the front desk to greet and seat us, which was mildly off-putting considering the restaurant was nearly empty. But, we were hungry, so we waited. Though I paid for the full experience, I felt I was hardly offered any meat at all. While I understand that it was lunchtime, I was still expecting to not have the salad bar be the main portion of the meal. The meats I did get to try were all very gristly/fatty cuts, which was a letdown. Some of the steak was also quite dry/overcooked. We were also only asked about refills once during our entire time there, and it took quite some time to get our server to take our bill. We dined here for a company trip and I was NOT disappointed. At first I was a bit confused why our room was so wide but as the meats came in I understood. Now, I can't it was ideal for chatter among your colleagues, but it made a lot of sense for the ease of distribution for food. For the meal doing the churrasco experience is the way to go. You are continuously brought delicious cuts of steal, chicken, and pork, cooked to order. The garlic steak and filet are my favorites. We came on a Monday evening so the restaurant was relatively empty but there were still a good amount of groups. We started out with the Market Table and grabbed a few fruits and smoked salmon but were mostly trying to save our stomachs for the meats. I sort of stuffed myself early on with the cheese bread. That stuff is too addicting. The filet mignon was my favorite. The meat was cooked so perfectly. It was juicy, tender, and nicely salted. The bacon wrapped steak was super tasty as well. Not a meat, but they had these roasted cheese bites or something that the gauchos walked around with. Those were so good I wish I had gotten more. The outside of the piece was crispy and the inside was soft cheese. The chicken thigh was a bit dry for my liking. I personally didn't try the garlic beef, but my bf and his friends said it sounds better than it tastes. It was a too overcooked for their liking. Our server was great and he even comped a tres leches dessert. It tasted so good! He was also sooo accommodating with all the gift cards we had (huge shoutout to Costco haha). If you ever decide to use e-gift cards, it would probably save a lot of time for both you and the server to print them out, since otherwise they would hand write the code and PIN. Although the food was decent for a Brazilian buffet, you can't expect the most from a franchise. The food wasn't exceptional compared to the price, but decent if you are looking for a night out. There's a card on your table in which you flip to say you want more meat or not as waiters walk around with several various meats. Their chicken and pork wasn't impressive but their beef was pretty good. There's a buffet area for you to get sides and the sides that are served as well such as plantains, cheese bread, and mashed potatoes were bomb. I was sad. They ran out of the crème brûlée and I don't recommend their tres leches. It was recommend to me and honestly not that good at all... Service was great but honestly if I'm waiting almost 2 hours past my reservation time to be seated, service better be good. A few years ago I gave this place a two because because my chillean sea bass had no flavor or texture. I gave up on eating in the dinning room and fell in love with the bar area. They have an amazing all day happy hour. The empanadas are everything. This is one of the only places downtown that you can get a quality burger and fries for $10. Their happy hour menu also has so many great things on it including great tasting wines for under $10. You can essentially go to happy hour with $20 and leave full. They also validate parking and the bartenders are super nice. I'm glad that this place survived the pandemic. read more

Fogo is one of those places you have to go to at least once! It's such a fun experience going up to the salad bar for seconds and thirds and trying all the different types of meats. You'll definitely get your money's worth if you try all the meat they have coming out constantly. If you leave not feeling like you're going to combust then you didn't eat enough :p The salad bar has some really decent options (it's not just salad) and sauces to pair with the meat. They accommodated for us even though we added more people to the reservation. They were busy! Lots of people at the bar placing bets since it was the same day as the Kentucky derby. A couple TVs by the bar as well. Once we got seated, the server explained turning over the circle thing to green for meat and to red if you don't want them to come by with meat. Endless meat! We got to try a lot of cuts of meat though. We even ordered wagyu and seafood. Too full for it though! It's cool getting a chance to try meat that I wouldn't normally buy at a restaurant.
