I haven't been to this place since 2014, but wow it was just as good as I remember it. We went there only for the dessert, but my party and me were all GF. So we got the GF platter with GF snickerdoodle and brownies. And it was all amazing. The service was fast and poppy.

I hadn't been to the Melting Pot in years but I was craving some fondue for my birthday this year! The new-er (not really new anymore) location in Station Square is huge compared to the old location! Plenty of seating with 2 floors and a patio. Our server was very friendly - they do try to up charge you the entire time but I understand that's their job. We ended up going with the four course meal for two - cheese, salad, entree, and dessert. Everything was excellent but my least favorite was the entree, Steak Lovers. I feel that the meat isn't very high quality and just tasted tough, even cooked rare to medium rare. By the end of the entree course, I was very full so next time, I think I'll just do cheese, salad, and chocolate. They do offer more dippers if needed which is nice. Overall would definitely go back as this is a fun date night option! And the cheese and chocolate is to die for.

I hadn't been to a Melting Pot in decades and they are currently celebrating their 50 year anniversary for 50 days (September 22, 2025). Our party of 4 went to celebrate a special occasion as the fondue experience is something different. Note: They offer options to recognize special occasions so if interested definitely let them know. Service was friendly, albeit below average. The ambiance was much nicer than I had expected from my historic experience. We sat upstairs with a balcony view of the main dining area. Our table decided to forgo the popular choice of cheese fondue and we each ordered an entree fondue that we than had to jointly choose 2 cooking styles. Note: current menus do not mark the gluten-free options like the old ones did. While you do get a family style plate of veggies (potato, mushroom, broccoli), it was one of each for the four of us. All the entree items looked and tasted good and we used our phones' timer app to make sure we fully cooked our entree items properly. We had fun. While parking in Station Square is still NOT fun with its limited pricey options.

After seeing an ad on Facebook describing The Melting Pot happy hour specials, I knew I had to go. Happy Hour is available Monday - Friday 4-6pm at the bar only. Select Cheese Fondue are $14 for a small that serves up to 2 people, and select Chocolate Fondue are $13 which serves up to 2 people. There are also $9 handcrafted cocktails and beer & wine specials. Our server/bartender was awesome. He was on top of everything and made sure we had what we needed. He was super personable and kind. The whole restaurant is welcoming with soft lighting and quiet music. The cheese, as well as the chocolate, came out fairly quick after we ordered it. The cheese was rich and paired nicely with the bread, soft pretzel, carrot, celery, broccoli, and apple dippers. Our chocolate was decadent and smooth. The waffle, pound cake, brownie, cookie, apple, and bananas were delicious when dipped. The cheese and chocolate do end up getting pretty hot when on the hot plate for about 10+ minutes, but our server was around to turn the heat down to ensure no one got burned. There is no onsite parking, but there is a parking garage about a 3-4 minute walk away. The Melting Pot is a perfect restaurant for a date night!

The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant chain that has several dozen locations across the U.S. and Canada. The restaurant in Pittsburgh serves lunch and dinner for dining in and to-go. The menus list fondues for cheese, proteins with different cooking styles, and chocolate. Please see my attached photos for the menus in January 2024. For many years, my husband and I have eaten meals here off and on. For our most recent visit, we ate lunch. Our reservation was at noon, and a smiley seating hostess seated us at a booth on time. Soon, our courteous waiter arrived, explained the menu, and took our order. The entire meal lasted about 1.5 hours, and the waiter brought out our courses at appropriate intervals. At the end of the meal, he promptly brought our bill, thanked us, and wished us a good day. As we exited the restaurant, the seating hostess said goodbye. Here are my husband's and my opinions about our foods and drink: Cheese fondue - 5 stars - Several cheeses were available, and we chose the Wisconsin Cheddar, which contained cheddar cheese, emmenthaler, Sam Adam's Boston Lager, and garlic. Using skewers, we dipped breads, broccoli, carrots, celery, and apple chunks into a heated pot of cheese. Salads - 4.5 stars - A few salads were available. I chose the California salad, which contained mixed greens, candied pecans, gorgonzola, tomatoes, and vinaigrette. My husband chose the Caesar salad, which contained the typical ingredients plus pine nuts that he described as "great" and "like candy." Entree fondue - 4 stars - We chose a cooking style of Coq Au Vin, a broth that contained Burgundy wine, mushrooms, scallions, and garlic. For my proteins, I chose the Land and Sea, which consisted of garlic pepper steak, herb-crusted chicken, shrimp, and Atlantic salmon. My husband chose the Classic, which consisted of garlic pepper steak, herb-crusted chicken, shrimp, Memphis-style dry-rub pork, and teriyaki-marinated steak. We both felt so-so about the flavors of the chicken, and we enjoyed the other proteins. On the side were several dipping sauces, and we liked many of those. Please note that the cooking times are ~2 minutes for most sea and land proteins and up to ~5 minutes for the chicken and the included vegetables of potatoes, mushrooms, and broccoli. Furthermore, the colored skewers particularly help during this entree course, so you can keep track of whose food is whose in the pot. Chocolate fondue - 5 stars - We chose the Original, which contained milk chocolate and crunchy peanut butter. We dipped chunks of brownies, blondies, waffles, krispy treats, cake, marshmallows, bananas, and strawberries. Paradise punch - 4 stars - My husband drank this beverage. Its ingredients were Bacardi, Myers's, Captain Morgan, and Malibu rums and also orange and pineapple juices. Our four-course experience for two people cost $119, the drink cost $12, and we of course also paid extra for tax and tip.

We had such an amazing double date night here! Dylan was an excellent server, very funny. We loved having so many options for different fondues and entrees. Cooking everything was a little stressful for me as I like to temp my food but I did enjoy mixing and matching my items. I was a huge fan of both the mushroom ravioli and the bourbon rubbed steak - YUM! The drinks were phenomenal especially the punch. Such a fun drink! All in all a lovely night!

I met friends at the Melting Pot on a Tuesday evening. We made reservations a few weeks in advance. When we went they had a Friendsgiving special that included your choice of fondue cheese, a salad and a fondue chocolate for dessert. We chose the alpine cheese for the starter. It was good, however I would like to try the spinach and artichoke next time! With the cheese, you receive bread and veggies to dip. For my salad I chose the California. It was super good and I would definitely order it again. I do not eat chocolate and was going to skip dessert but our server brought out my own tray of berries and waffle bites. It was awesome! I can see how a visit here could get very expensive. I would say if you are going in a group and splitting items its worth it!

The restaurant was dimly lit and had a good ambiance. The service was decent. We could have gotten refills a bit quicker. The Wisconsin cheddar fondue was delicious, and we finished every last drop. The steaks weren't my favorite, but my husband loved them. They were all very heavily seasoned with fennel, which I don't like. The cuts were marinated for too long, which made the meat texture spongy and chewy. The Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue was mouth-watering. We also got the dessert add-on, which was delicious and included the cheesecake, macarons, and cream puffs. Overall, it was decent, but I probably wouldn't get an entree again. The dessert really stood out and saved it.

The original chocolate peanut butter dessert course with our special "date night" plate. This was very good!

The wife and I went here for a date night during Pittsburgh restaurant week. It was definitely a really cool experience. The special came with three courses but we added a cheese fondue. We chose the Quattro Formaggio which had a funny after taste. We both agreed that we should have gotten the spinach artichoke. Everything else was very good! They bring you out the raw meat and vegetables then you cook it yourself right there at your table. There are 4 cooking styles to chose from, we picked the citrus marinade option. Along with the food they bring you different sauces to have with the meats. There is a website you can pull up via QR code to help time your cooking. We used it the first couple times but had to keep refreshing the website. We then just set the timer ourselves on our phone using the website as a timing guide. The staff was all extremely nice. The waitress even brought us out a special "date night" plate for our dessert which was really nice of her! Although we did notice our clothes had the cooking odors on them when we got home. It is a bit pricey as well. Overall we really enjoyed the entire experience.

I love it here. We sat at the bar for the half off cheese and chocolate and it was great. The bartenders were attentive and helpful. We asked for no nuts on the flaming turtle and they asked if we were allergic to clue the kitchen in being extra cautious. I really appreciated that. Plus, there was a mistake on the bill and they corrected it no questions asked. As pictured, the restaurant is beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Stopped in for lunch today & to try the 50th Anniversary chocolate fondue, it was good. This place never disappoints, the staff & servers are always so personable and accommodating. Today Leslie was our waitress she was so nice. Will most definitely be back again...

I like the Melting Pot! I know that can be a somewhat hot take, but I think it's fun to cook your own food - it gives you a silly activity to do while you talk with your date. I always eat way too much when i'm here but it's so worth it. I LOVE their dessert chocolate sauce the most. They always have fun drinks and the waiters are very nice. One time, I went after graduation and they gave us a cute cake that said Hapoy Graduation on it. My only complaint is I do find it slightly overpriced. You are somewhat paying for an experience like, though! However, if you aren't in to that type of experience, it might not be worth the price.

I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.

Fantastic vibe in there as well, cool lighting (although something from up above kept falling). It's a highly acclaimed place for a reason. I got to try their beet soup (borscht), tea, potato pancake, and rice pudding dessert. The menu changes decently consistently I believe, and I did visit a little while ago, for notice. The food was very tasty. Huge potato pancake that was cooked perfectly with a nice topping of what I can only describe as vegan sour cream and some sort of very flavorful vegetables. I quite liked it, surprisingly tasty and creamy topping. Now the borscht, which I tend to be picky with, was just okay. The number one detractor for the borscht was the salt level. The food is just far, far too salty (the pancake was pretty salty too). Other than that, quite good. Love the side of rye. The dessert was very good. Surprisingly light. Came with a little caramelized baked fruit on top (apple/pear, something like that). Rice was reasonably creamy and very flavorful. So good! All in all, a nice spot for a nice dinner. Especially great for vegans. However, the food did taste too salty for my liking.

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.

Not a big deal to me but elderly people might have issues. I ordered 2 smoothies, a chicken, black bean and cheese quesadilla, and a fruit cup. Ready for the total? $33..... insane. The prices are very steep. If you go in for just a smoothie thats a little more acceptable but to pay $5 for a couple strawberries, half a banana, and half an apple is crazy. The smoothies are also not even that great. I got my son the strawberry banana one and it was so bland. I got the sunrise sunset one and it was somewhat flavorful. I did ask my son if he liked the quesadilla. He said it was good so I have to take his word on it. I dont eat gluten so I didnt try it. I will say after waiting about 30 minutes for our stuff, the guy who worked there was very nice and brought it out to us. Im not sure if thats their policy or it was just kindness but I did appreciate it. All in all its a 4/10 for me. Too expensive for too bland of flavor.

I somehow always find myself back here for a delicious late night bite!! They really are one of…read morethe only spots downtown that serve food later in the evenings, which is something to always appreciate. Our server (I believe his name was Cody) was genuinely one of the nicest guys ever!! Incredibly amazing energy and super kind to answer and questions or provide recs. We tried the White Sangria and they had a Pina colada both delicious and so refreshing! We have recently tried the Pesto pizza (I sub chicken on top instead) and the brisket mac and cheese which was probably the biggest mac and cheese I have ever seen and super yummy. If you haven't checked it out yet I definitely recommend it to everyone I know!

I tried a black cherry ale that was delicious. My husband got a Vienna lager he enjoyed. He got the black and gold pizza with potatoes, garlic sauce, pepper, res onion parmesan, and provolone. It is fired in their brick oven with a crispy crust. He enjoyed it but it was a little over done and it was hard to distinguish the toppings as the char was heavy. I got the carbonara. It was definitely not traditional. The sauce was very thick and almost floury. They serve it with pork belly, which does not give the same punch of flavor to cut through the sauce as guanchali or bacon. The papardelle noodle were dry and clumpy. The dish was very heavy. Do not recommend. The place is chill. It is close to the theater. I might try it again if in the area.
