The menu explicitly indicates which items are gluten-free, and I was thrilled to find out that the vast majority of their offerings are entirely safe, with only obvious exceptions like the standard bread and croutons. I started off with a glass of moscato while exploring my options. Because I am a vegetarian, I opted for the Market Table salad bar, which is an absolute dream even without the meats. It is loaded with an impressive variety of fresh salads, cheeses, hot soups, rice, beans, fresh vegetables, and seasonal fruits. Our server was pretty attentive throughout the night, ensuring we always had what we needed. They also brought out the traditional Brazilian sides for the table, all of which are surprisingly gluten-free. We safely enjoyed the mashed potatoes, the famous Brazilian cheese bread, fried bananas, and crispy polenta--our server even took the extra step to confirm they use a separate dedicated fryer for the fried items. To top off an already great meal, we looked at the dessert menu, which clearly marks options like ice cream and crème brûlée as gluten-free. Since it was my birthday last week, the kitchen kindly brought out a complimentary birthday crème brûlée for me to celebrate. What has happened to this place over the years...Its gone downhill for sure. Its seriously overpriced, the meat is either bland and or overly salty, the waitstaff helicopter hover over your table non-stop to the point of annoying, half the time the meats you want aren't available or never show up at your table...Did I mention the food is overpriced and believe me, I don't mind dropping alot of money on great food and a good experience and vibe but you get neither here... Another problem is the table seating here has you practically sitting in your neighbors lap and hearing everything said or whispered I've been here a few times and it's definitely dropped off over the last 10 years but I keep giving it a chance but I'm done...The food and vibe is waaay off...No wonder on my visit the place is half empty for dinner... First time at FdC in Chicago area. Here are some thoughts: -This is one of my favorite restaurants. If you like meat you're going to love this place. -My suggestion is to get the full churrasco. That's what this place is known for. It's expensive but worth it! -You get unlimited cuts of 7 diff't meats. They just keep coming around with fresh cooked meat and carve it for you right at your table : ) -My favorites are parm crusted pork, two types of sirloin, and sausage. My sons love the spicy beef. -The key is to pace yourself. I like to hit the salad bar first, and then I try to pass on every other meat that comes by, and wait til I'm ready for more. -The place is usually packed and service is good but they have a lot of tables, so you have to be proactive with the wait staff, "Can you send the sausage to our table, etc." -We ordered tres leches for dessert and it was awesome (complementary for birthday celebration). -This place is not cheap, but highly, highly recommended!! read more

We have dined here a few times and the level of service has varied from very good to good. We had multiple servers and gauchos attending to our table. The restaurant was fairly busy with a moderate noise level. The salad bar had a nice selection of vegetables, salads and cheese. The warm side dishes brought to the table were very good and the meats that were provided were very tasty. It would be nice to have a list of the specific meat options at the service to avoid missing anything of interest. Even though the gauchos ask for any special requests, it is difficult to make a request when you do not know what options are available as some servers may not come to your table. As a side note, it was specified in the reservation that it was for a birthday celebration. There was no acknowledgement of the birthday until we were asked about a possible dessert order and it was mentioned to the server at that time. Some suggestions might be to distinguish the table as having a special occasion from other tables or ask the diners if there is any special occasion for dining at the restaurant. Also, my beverage refill request was acknowledged, but was not brought to the table until an additional request was made. Since my friend's and I are busy with family and sports we get together for birthday dinners! This outing the celebrant picked Fogo! We all arrived before the reservation (rare occasion - lol). We all hung out the bar until our table was ready. We were sat later than the time as the table was not ready but we were in no rush. After being seated, we were given menus and water. I got the Market Table with Feijoda Bar and Butter-bathed lobster tail. We all headed went to the Market Table to get some food. The Table area has a tight walking area so you were dodging people. I got jumbo asparagus, roasted zucchini, roasted eggplant, and quinoa tabbouleh, roasted corn chowder. I enjoyed all the sides and the caramelized bananas, Pão de Queijo (Cheese Bread), friend polenta and Garlic Mash Potatoes were so good that I couldn't stop eating them. The butter bathed lobster was a a nice size and it was so soft and tender. I really enjoyed it and would get it again! I had the grilled pineapple coated with sugar and cinnamon. Wow! So tasty. I wish that we didn't share the Cheesecake Brûlée cause I wanted it all. My cousing did have a server spill some honey on his shirt as he was being served, the server was so apologetic and their customer service rep that walks the restaurant come over and apologized and offered dry cleaning if the stains did come out. They also comped his dinner. SO it was all good on how they handled it. Overall, great dinner and even better hanging out with the guys to celebrate a birthday! We will be back, I'm sure. read more

5 stars for Fogo de Chão! This is a very nice Brazilian Steakhouse - all you can eat style! The service was excellent as was the food. The workers bring meats to your table and you decide if you want that cut of meat or if you're going to wait til the next cuts come out. The filet and bacon wrapped sirloin were my favorite cuts of the steak they brought out. They also have a huge salad bar that is also included - all you can eat! I took my son with me to get the $49 complete fogo de chao lunch. It came with salad bar, soup bar, mashed potatoes, cheese ball bread, plantains, baked cheese with honey, polenta, and of course, the meat. Our reservation was at 2pm so it wasn't very crowded. We were seated next to the bar, so we got to watch a World Cup match between the U.S. and Australia, but I'm getting off topic. Beautiful restaurant, decor is in good taste, and tables are nicely spaced. The servers are all very nice and helpful. After a slow start, the meat started to arrive, and it never stopped after that. Now I have to say, I was not there for the chickens or the pigs. I wanted cow, and lots of it. They brought top sirloin, bottom sirloin, flank steak, rib-eye, filet mignon, skirt steak, garlic steak, lamb chops, and several others I can't even remember. Each one was tender and juicy. They asked if we wanted something brought out that we hadn't had in a while. I cannot stress how good each cut of meat was. You could get it rare to well done too. We drank only water, and our glasses were constantly filled. Nice touch. One thing I have to say about the sides. They bring small portions to the table, but I think thats so it never gets cold. We had 5 or 6 dishes of mashed potatoes, 4 dishes of plantains, and I couldn't really get a picture of my plate of meat, because once you finished what they just sliced for you, here comes another to offer a different cut. I went there for my son's birthday, and they threw in a free dessert. He got a slice of the chocolate cake, and I got key lime pie. Both were to-go. I've been to most of the Brazilian steak places, but I think Fogo de Chao offers the best variety of meats at a very reasonable price. I would go back after my body recovers from the meat sweats. Having dined here a few times, it's been a pleasurable experience with the staff, ambiance and service. The only thing I would change is the buffet table because it has poor fen shui. Really beautiful restaurant that's close to Woodfield Mall. The interior makes you feel like you're dining at a fancy steakhouse and the restrooms were clean as well. My family came here for brunch on a Saturday and loved the cold bar selections. There was yogurt parfait, papaya, berries, prosciutto, Parmesan, salad, Asian noodles, and lentil soup. In terms of the meat, the picanha stood out to me. The meat was well seasoned and the fat was rich with flavor. I do think all the meat was on the drier side compared to Texas de Brazil. When I asked for medium, I got more like well done. If you want chimichurri sauce you have to ask for it separately. The lunch price was a little cheaper than the dinner price which was nice. Always wanted to try this place and finally got the chance and I have to say I'm a little underwhelmed. The buffet was smaller than I expected. Fruits, cheese, deli meats but nothing special. No seafood expect for some smoked salmon. They had soup but it's lentil no lobster bisque like Texas de Brazil. The meats were fine, flavorful but they lacked a 'wow factor' to set them apart from other Churrascaria in the area. The one thing that did stand out was the Queijo Assado. This is the fourth Brazilian Steakhouse that I've dined in and a favorite for these reasons: Plethora of free parking. No time limit for dine in. You're welcome to dress to impress or arrive semi casual and will be treated equally. Access to salad bar at any time. You're welcome to choose different options for Churrasco experience or other choices from the menu. The guys chose Full Churrasco while the ladies selected Indulgent Churrasco. I went with Indulgent Churrasco because my mind and tummy was set on devouring the Butter Bathed Lobster Tail. Steamed to perfection, easy to peel and satisfying. This option included dessert. One of the dessert choices available was Cheesecake Brûlée with Fresh Strawberries and Raspberry which tasted fabulous! Our Servers provided top quality customer service from beverage to protein recommendations, refills in water. Continue to face up green circle when you're ready to eat or red circle if you'd like to rest or are done. My faves were the lamb and rib eye which tasted very succulent and flavorful. Garlic Mashed Potatoes are to die for and complemented all of the seafood and meats. We enjoyed catching up in conversations and our meals for about 3.5 hours. We didn't feel rushed at all. Our server, Alexander, was excellent. He was busy waiting many tables but was super attentive and spoke kindly. The entire staff was inviting and welcoming the moment we stepped through the door. We visited during dinner hours and had a positive experience dining and celebrating my birthday there. The food selection was good. The meat was tender and flavorful. My favorites were the beef rib and picanha. They were fatty but in the best way where it brought such robust flavor to the meat. The Market Table buffet had fresh greens, mixed salads, all sorts of salads and fruits. I particularly liked the candied bacon. It was the best combination of sweet and salty. We tried the authentic Brazilian Guarana soda which reminded me of ginger ale type drink but not spicy. It was nice and bubbly, not very sweet, and was good cold. Another favorite of the night was the queijo assado with honey and the cheese bread. The queijo was salty but with the honey drizzled over it gave it such a nice sweet complement to the savory taste of the cheese. This location recently opened and everything was crisp and new. The tables were sturdy with well pressed linens. The staff uniforms expressed the traditional "gaucho" style-- Brazillian herdsmen/cowboys skilled in grilling meats, the churrasco experience. From the uniforms to the variety of grilled meats, it felt like an authentic Brazillian tradition. At the time we were dining, It was unfortunate that there was a large party of 20 in our seating area so we waited substantial amounts of time inbetween being served the variety of meats because the table of twenty would be served entire skewers or plates of the queijo assado. We waited several minutes that the staff would come by three times to assure us more was being prepared and coming. We have always viewed Fogo de Chão as a special dining experience, which made this visit particularly disappointing. It took nearly 20 minutes before any bread, mashed potatoes, or bananas were brought to our table. We also ordered a Diet Coke shortly after being seated and did not receive it until about 30 minutes into our meal. I am honestly not sure if there was a server assigned to our table at all. It appeared that one of the servers may have been in training, but throughout the evening we had to gather what we needed from different employees and were never certain who to ask for assistance. For example, we requested chimichurri and steak sauce and did not receive them until about 20 minutes later, after reminding two different team members. Additionally, our group spent $400+ on this meal, yet we received very little variety in the meats being offered. There was a large party seated next to us that seemed to receive consistent attention and a greater selection of meats, while the gauchos would often serve that table and then walk away before coming to ours. We understand that busy nights happen and that every experience cannot be perfect. However, for the level of service and experience we have come to expect from Fogo de Chão, this visit was disappointing and did not reflect the quality we anticipated. read more

I was looking forward to try this place for the first time and I will not be coming back. My reservations were at 730pm got here with plenty of time before they close at 9pm to enjoy my meal . The service was very disappointing I had to ask for the basic things my meal came . We waits 45 minutes for a dish that came with our meal to be told they no longer had it because it was close to closing time . I will not be returning to this location at all . If you are debating whether to sit at the bar or get a table, I highly recommend the bar for its bar menu and exceptional staff. I loved the lively energy of the bar crowd that night. I was in the area for a layover and went over enjoying the burger with polenta fries. It was out of this world. The staff at the bar are also very attentive. I was always asked if there was anything I needed on a busy Saturday night. They also offer the regular menu at the bar, but being alone and not really hungry like I usually am, the bar food was the highlight of my evening. Unfortunately, I was right. The eagerness and quality has disappeared since their opening just 3 months ago. It was a complete 180 degree experience from just a few short months ago. Here's what happened: Our reservation was at 11am on a Wednesday. We were greeted promptly and provided a table that we requested. After that.... Bread was brought out, but no plates? The salad bar wasnt ready and the meats were still being prepared. took about 15 mins to get the salad bar opened and the meats were served until 11:40. Potatoes/ plantains were served late as well. The opening act was the top sirloin (dry and grey) followed by the sausage (very dry and tough; no moisture at all) and finally the third offer was the beef wrapped in bacon and you guessed it, dry , grey , tough to chew. We decided to ask for the manager to provide feedback. He was able to correct the subsequent entrees that came out like the ribeye, pork chop, top sirloin, and picanha. He mentioned that he inspected the original batch and confirmed that it was dry and should not have gone out to customers. He also mentioned that he and someone else gave the meats a squeeze as well and confirmed dryness and had them throw out the bad batch. I took pics and i will share shortly. The only other explanation i can think of is that the food that they served us at 11:40 were leftovers from the previous night. The food that was quality checked by the manager and served to us the second time was night and day different. Alas, I had high hopes for fogo, but because of lack of quality controls and very avg service at best along with delays. We will not be returning and am updating my review. I have been eating at the Fogo de Chao in Rosemont for the past four years but tonight my friend and I decided to try this Schaumburg location and I am glad that we did. The menu is the same as other Fogo de Chao restaurants but there are many advantages to this location over Rosemont location. First of all, there is much more parking here, with four handicap spaces directly in front of the doors plus giant windows for a scenic view of Golf Rd, great salad bar, tender meats and great service! I have to especially complement the waiters, waitresses and the three customer service reps that kept coming to our table to make sure that we had everything that we needed for a fine dining experience. A big shout out to customer service reps Dayana, Ileana, and Izabella for great service. Great food especially the Ribeye, Top Sirloin & Filet Mignon. Highly recommended...Five Stars! read more

I came here for the Sunday brunch and was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately the experience fell short compared to other Fogo de Chão locations I've visited. The positives: the brunch setup itself was nice, and when meats came around, they were decent. The negatives: service was very disappointing. We had to constantly flag someone down just to get sauces and water refills. Fresh cuts of meat were sparse, and when they did arrive, most were cooked medium to well-done, even though I had specifically requested medium-rare. There was no one available at the egg station, and I had to ask for someone to come over. On top of that, a server asked if I'd like to "try" a drink -- but it turned out we were charged for it, which felt misleading. Overall, this was the weakest Fogo experience I've had. Other locations have been far better in both food quality and attentiveness. I'd recommend visiting a different branch if you want the real Fogo de Chão experience. read more

It was really busy, even on a week night which can be challenging to navigate. It took much longer when you flip your card to green to get served here. Like, much longer. If you're considering this location, take this as a warning. - The birthday note on our reservation was completely ignored -- no greeting, no acknowledgment. - Our server, Diego, only checked in on us twice the entire evening. - Not a single water refill the entire time until 5 minutes before we left by a food runner (not even our server). - Wine was dropped off without glasses. - When we asked his partner, Isabella (or Isabelle), for the grilled cheese with honey, she said she'd send someone over twice and no one ever came. - Diego didn't even close our bill -- one of the food runners had to do it instead. The hostess set the tone by sitting the party behind us (also a group of 5) before us and telling us to wait. Throughout the night, we noticed Diego gave attention to every table around us while ignoring ours. It was impossible not to notice the difference. To make matters worse, the entire staff looked overwhelmed and lost -- frazzled, stressed, and running around with no clear direction. The lack of organization and basic customer service was obvious at every step. This was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had.
