It looks small but they have other rooms probably for bigger parties. Dry aged porterhouse. Husband was disappointed in no seasonings. Bland would be the word. Do we not salt our steak here? Just curious. It was cooked perfectly medium though. The star of the night was calamari. Never had this tender of calamari before and we order calamari at every restaurant. They're the best. Margarita that was black in the picture? Don't be fooled, THE CUP was black not the drink. And they don't even put enough alcohol in it for that price. Lobster bisque was not even luke warm. Aren't soup suppose to be hot though? We also had asparagus, mushrooms, and spinach. Crème brulee was ok. We've had better. Had the lobster and crab cake, the pan fried calamari, the Korean BBQ candied bacon, the lobster mac and cheese, and the Oscar-style fillet, and all of them were incredible...though the filet was the pièce de résistance. Our group of 10 went last night with a vendor. Service was good. A few mishaps. Food delivered to wrong people. Seems like this should not have occurred. They didn't bring me a fork for my meal when they provided to everyone else. Two folks steak weren't cooked correctly. We believe they 2 got each others. Again; a service failure. We had the best time at Capital Grille in Schaumburg for my Fiancé's birthday. The staff was amazing! Micheal at the bar was so fun to chat with while waiting for our table. Nicole was our server and she really brought to menu to life and was so accommodating. We can't wait to come back soon. Every dish was to die for. This place took care of us! We came here for a team meeting dinner. They got us a private room with a big round table - so we were able to see each other. PERFECT! SERVICE: Fabulous service from the bar where we waited to be seated, and then from the restaurant servers....very friendly, informational and attentive! FOOD: YUM. A friend selected this restaurant to meet up for dinner while traveling in IL. I'm so glad that she did! The service, ambiance, and food were superb! Not pictured were oysters that others loved, but not my thing. I prefer them charbroiled (New Orleans). However, the server recommended them and everyone that eats raw oysters loved them. He also recommended the African lobster and steak and it was delicious. The lobster was more tender than usual and the flavor was sweet. The steak wasn't the best that I've had, but good (I'd order it again). We ordered a selection of desserts to share and they were all pretty good. Though some of us didn't really care for cheesecake, this one surprised us. We loved the brûlée top and the ricotta and cream cheese filling made it really fluffy and delightful to eat. My husband and I centered our for a date night last Friday. Everything was wonderful. The tables were all full and the dining room had a nice buzz to it. I have been a fan of Capitol Grill for many many years & yes, it is a chain. There are many locations with slightly different menus, some are way better than others. However, each location offers nationally renowned dry-aged steaks, fresh quality seafood & acclaimed world-class wines. Moi used to work in the Chrysler building so i'm a big fan of two of the NYC locations. The Chrysler Building, home to The Capital Grille, in its ultra deco design, gleaming, seven-story glass & steel pyramid is unlike anything in the big Apple & one of the most unique dining settings anywhere. Fabulous OuiOui. The wall-street location is also completely fabulous. A somewhat hidden treasure in the historic Equitable Building, what was once a mighty bank vault is now the highly coveted Calloway Room. The perfect space for a very special celebration. Moi all time fave celebratory Restaurants. This location in Chicago is very pretty & has great service. Not quite as good as moi fave NYC locations but it's definitely worth a visit. We had steak & lobsters as usual. This location was offering African Lobsters, a la carte, so we decided to try them, side by side, with the Maine Lobsters. The Maine Lobsters were full lobster's WITH CLAWS that came on "The Grand Plateau seafood tower" We ordered both. The Grand Plateau was the clear Winner as the Maine Lobsters were way better in flavor compared to the African Lobsters. Moi prefers the claw meat also. Maine Lobster is just better all around. The steak dusted in the porchini mushroom was very good. Mashed Potatoes were sublime. The best we have ever had. The salads were also good. We tried all 3 & the clear winner was the beet salad. We don't know what happened to the side of spinach it was horrific. No one ate it. We also ordered the creme brûlée & flourless dark chocolate cake. Both were excellent. Sorry I did not get to take photos of the dessert as my phone charge was dead by then. However, the creme brûlée was sublime & the clear winner of the two. An excellent time was had by all. The cheese & onion bread was my fave, followed by the bread roll. Steak (NY Strip boneless) was great, charred on the outside and flavorful, topped with crusted bleu cheese. Lobster Mac n Cheese - quite possibly the star of the show! I'm usually not big on this type of dish, though, other reviews encouraged me to try it. One word - Phenomenal! I celebrated a late birthday just before New Year's Eve, so a double celebration. I started with my favorite, Sauv Blanc. Clam chowder was hearty and tasty. I liked the plate option offered for lunch, which includes a smaller portion of the dinner entrées along with a soup. I had steak frites with truffle aïoli and a mushroom risotto. The server brought out a plate of sweets, a tasting sample of the larger desserts, with a birthday greeting. I enjoyed the mini cheesecake and mini chocolate cake when I got back home. Service was polite, professional, and attentive with just the right amount of check-in. Since we normally don't go to a restaurant like this this was kind of an opportunity to try out and see if they were any good. The service there was phenomenal and even showed us an iPad that had a nice visual and descriptions of their cocktails, their wines, and after dinner drinks. It really did help choosing a cocktail. My husband had a black tie Margarita And I had a Negroni Bianco. Those two cocktails were honestly a nice way to start off the experience. Afterwards we went to our first course I had the New England clam chowder and my husband had a wedge salad( I forgot to take a photo of it). Then we both tried the Kona New York strip it was the most tender piece of meat I've had in a bit. And for dessert we both had the espresso flourless chocolate cake that honestly I didn't even think about taking a photo until after I left the( it was just too good). We also had a cappuccino with our dessert. Everything came out in a timely manner and I believe the general manager did stop by to check on how we were doing so that was a nice table touch. The whole place feels a little bit odd in the sense of it's very dark and slightly ominous. The ambience is elegant and cozy, with beautiful artwork, black-and-white Chicago photos, and rich burgundy tones that give the dining room a regal feel. The world clocks, light fixtures, and classic touches--like the lions and the eagle--add to the refined atmosphere. One minor detail that stands out to me is the faux flower arrangement, which feels out of place, though that's likely just my particular interior-design eye noticing. Please remove or replace it with real botanicals. Either action would be an improvement. The food is consistently excellent, especially the steaks and the sea bass. The complimentary bread basket is great, and many steak cuts are large enough to share. The wine selection is excellent for pairing, and the hospitality is always top-notch. We visit once or twice a month because it simply feels good to be there. It's an outstanding steakhouse--on the pricier side, but worth it. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

They put out a basket of homemade chips which were very crisp and tasty. The bartender who served us was fantastic. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time, and the drinks were delicious. Had a great experience here. First time visiting this location. Wife and I both very much enjoyed the food and service! We had some oysters as an appetizer. My wife had the rack of lamb. I had the tenderloin & lobster. And we had the au gratin potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked. Raw oysters of course, they were fresh. Wife really enjoyed the lamb. Large portion as well! She ate 4 and took 4 home. Which she had the next day for lunch. My steak and lobster were very good! The potatoes also very good. For the cooks on the meats, I ordered medium rare. Came out perfect. My wife doesn't like pink meat, so she ordered the lamb well done. They cooked a perfect well done. Soft and juicy meat. We were celebrating as well, and they brought us a nice dessert plate with 2 mini desserts. Very tasty and much appreciated. This is a fancy place. It is pricey. We sat in a rear booth at the far end of the bar. A great spot by the way. Victoria rattled off the names of every gin including one I have never tried. So guess what was in my dirty martini - yep, that one! Girlfriend had a pineapple (vodka) martini, which I must say, as a non vodka-drinker, is lethal and dangerous - there was no alcohol smell or taste detected at all. She - NY strip (14oz) with peppercorns and a Courvoisier cream sauce - the bomb, with truffle fries. Me- had the lobster bisque finished with sherry, which is world class. Sushi grade tuna tartare on avocado with mango sauce finished with Sriracha and microgreens. Main was a seared sea scallops with lobster is an asparagus risotto Us - dessert, banana cream pie and a double espresso (and a pretty darn good one at that) Everything to go, and yes there was some, was packaged thoughtfully and carefully. Stellar, flawless service - this is my unabashed user experience. This is an all the way class dining establishment. You will not look out of place in a sport coat & slacks, or three piece suit and tie, personally I think you will blend right in. Go ahead, get crazy, dress up, and go out on the town - Old School. My husband and I came to this location this year for NYE dinner, and we were pleased with the food and service. We have never been to this location before, but have gone to the one downtown; although each has their own unique atmosphere, this location was still top notch. We had a reservation for dinner, especially because it was NYE, and we waited about 5 minutes for a table to open up and be cleaned. When we sat down, our waiter Frank came pretty quickly to ask if we wanted any drinks other than water and gave some suggestions. We had great service with Frank with his personable personality and demeanor. One thing the downtown location does when being seated that this location did fail to do is push out my chair. We have gone to the downtown location 2 or 3 times, and each visit, the host/hostess has pulled my chair out... it kinda makes me feel weird and out of place, but it truly adds to the VIP experience of coming to such a high-end restaurant, but this location didn't have that (obviously not a big deal, just an observation). I ordered a passion fruit mojito as my drink, and it was so good. As I got to the bottom of the glass, it was a bit strong for me, but overall, the drink had a great alcohol/fruity balance. Every table gets a complimentary bread basket with extremely spreadable butter, and we also ordered the calamari as our appetizer. The calamari doesn't come with any dipping sauce, but it has cooked hot cherry peppers cooked with it, which makes for a unique spicy flavor. My husband and I truly loved it. As for entrées, we both ordered the Kona Crusted Bone-in NY Strip and WOW. Both steaks were perfectly cooked at the temps we ordered (mine was medium and my husband's was medium rare), and they had such a great pepper taste to them. They marinated perfectly and were extremely juicy. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese for our side. It had PLENTY of bread crumbs on top and some large pieces of lobster included. I belong to a group of women who have been together for 45 years. We are still getting together every 2 weeks for a meal and fellowship. We went for the first time to celebrate the new year. All the food was under seasoned. There is not enough lettuce in the salad. Steaks are not seasoned. Sauces are bland and not an improvement to the steaks. Steaks are not cooked to requested temperature. The bread is good The drinks are well priced. Waitstaff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the pleasure of dining at The Capital Grill to celebrate my friends birthday. Everything was top notch. The restaurant had the table decorated with confetti for Happy Birthday. The ambiance was very inviting with comfy leather booths and tables. It had beautiful decor. The service was impeccable. The food was outstanding. I had delicious French Onion soup for an appetizer. My entree consisted of Strip steak that had been aged. It also came with Duck Fat fries. My friend ordered a delicious Cobb salad with grilled chicken. Our entrees were delicious. For a very special Birthday dessert there was a silver platter with my friends name and Happy Birthday drizzled in Chocolate. There was mini cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake and berries. I love the stoli doli and the bohemian from the drink menu. The stoli doli is definitely strong and refreshing, while the bohemian is delicious and sparkling. Went here with the wife after she recommended it after having it at a few work events. Was very impressed with the location (was scared by where it was and how it look on the outside to be honest). The inside did not match the outside (which is a good thing). Both of our steaks were DELICIOUS and cooked as requested. Drinks were good. Service was also excellent. We had visited this location a couple of times previously, once in 2019 for a fabulous New Year's Eve dinner with family and another time since for a not so great experience. My husband and I were in the Schaumburg area on Sunday and decided to stop in for dinner at the bar. We were so happy we did! We have been regulars at the Rosemont location for many years, having hosted a special birthday celebration party in their board room, along with many other occasions. The dinner menu offers a wide variety of options and everything we have ordered has been outstanding. On this visit, we selected long-time favorites - Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail, Tuna Tartare with Avocado, Filet Mignon with Peppercorn Cream Sauce and Au Gratin Potatoes. Our Bartender Stephen was a highlight of the evening, not just for us, but for all of the patrons seated nearby. He was engaging and entertaining, as he kept us all laughing with his anecdotes about life and family.
