We had egg roll appetizers and I'd order them again Pass on their calamari too small just breading and obviously from a mediocre frozen food company. I love the food at Bonefish. Have had some great meals there but tonight we had a 5:45 pm reserved time. We waited for 30 minutes to place a drink order and 60 minutes for a food order. When the food and drinks came they were very good so I gave it an OK rating. I like this restaurant but their service needs some help. I think the financial stress of the company has really impacted the staff. The two people at the desk could have cared less but our waiter offered to buy our first round because we waited so long. Love the food, service, when you can get it is good, just prepare to wait to get it. I posted this review and got a referral from Angellica H to contact them and it just went into a loop. Went to Bonefish the evening of March 21 with a group of four and sat in the bar area for dinner. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark. After we finished eating, we asked our waiter to clear the dirty dishes and glasses. He removed one plate, but despite multiple polite requests, the rest of the table was left cluttered with dirty dishes and the glasses we had brought from the bar. We ended up sitting there with a messy table and being ignored, which completely turned us off from ordering dessert or another drink. We decided to leave instead. We've never had this kind of experience at Bonefish before, so it was really disappointing. Not sure we'll be returning anytime soon. read more

Always enjoy the happy hour offerings here, drinks and apps are just right. Dinner however was sub par. Definitely avoid the mixed grill for 2 special. Recommend the salad and skip the soup as the crab corn chowder was way too spicy, the bowl came piping hot on the outside but the soup inside was cool. The mixed grill proteins were disappointing; mahi was a sad little mushy fillet and the grey salmon was way over salted, 4 grilled shrimp with mango salsa was ok as was the seared ahi. The asparagus side was good but the au gratin potato side dish was terrible. Slopping sauces on everything doesn't improve the quality of poor fish. Fish tacos had some sort of weird mushy fish. Fish and chips were good. Lily's chicken was ok. Trout was ok. Can't shake the feeling that I'm eating food reheated in a microwave as opposed to scratch made. As always the bartenders and servers are 5 star, courteous, friendly and accommodating. Food quality in general seems to have gone downhill since the last visit. Social Hour Review! My husband and I stopped in after hearing great things about the Social Hour. They offer discounted drinks and bites every day from 4:30-6:30pm. The deal is not just offered at the bar but anywhere you dine in the restaurant. I tried the Mango Bourbon Sour which had a sweeter and fruity note with the bourbon. My husband tried the Bee's Knees Martini which was well balanced in flavor while still letting the gin shine. Neither drink was too tart which I really appreciated. We shared the Crispy Cauliflower which I loved!! The sauce was perfectly tangy but cauliflower remained crisp. Our server Kayla was great with giving recommendations, making small talk, and answering any questions we had. We returned here after a long 9 year hiatus and I was very pleased to see that this good value franchise, which closed on us long ago in Skokie, is booming and successful here in Schaumburg.  We came in with another pal couple to enjoy Bonefish's special event Autumn Reserve 4-Course Bourbon Cocktail Pairing Dinner.  The dinner goes for $65 pp, is a very good deal, and is a very popular event.   The event attendees numbered 63, and we were lucky to make it in off of the waitlist.  The large restaurant, which is partitioned into two cozy dining rooms, with one also being a bar room, was bustling and filled to capacity with other regular diners as well. The 4 courses were 1) harvest apple salad paired with a WhistlePig apple bourbon martini, 2) sea scallops with spinach and mushroom risotto paired with a Woodford Reserve bourbon margarita, 3) swordfish with pumpkin ravioli paired with an Angel's Envy brown sugar manhattan, and 4) spiced apple cheesecake paired with a Knob Creek pumpkin sidecar.   These were all cocktails with premium, delectable, and well-known bourbons.  Every course of the dinner was very fun and delicious and this dinner actually made it onto my list of all time favorite dinners, yiiipppeee and yuuuummm.  I look forward to attending another special event dinner someday here at Bonefish, and thank you! read more

Having had a disappointing first experience at Bonefish, I left a review several weeks ago, but now must explain that the immediate response by Bill Benjamin to my comments was not only surprising but an uplifting moment and I wish to point out that this is a restaurant which not only cares for its customers but also cares about reputation and professionalism. I was pleasantly surprised at my receiving a call from Mr Benjamin and heartened by his assurance that he appreciated my comments, valid as they may have been and written out of concern as a former restaurant chef de cuisine myself. I not only have returned several times but now look forward to coming back to the welcome I received from Kirk (and Doreen) who remarkably remembered my name from a busy Saturday night at his bar. The inside is gorgeous, had a warm feeling . Bathrooms were very clean . Our waitress was Joanne and she was fantastic. The service couldn't have been better . She was sweet , had a smile on her face, and brought over cheesecake to celebrate my husband's birthday . We had the bang bang shrimp and seafood cheese dip for appetizers. Both were SO good . We were only going to get the dip but Joanne said the shrimp was one of their top sellers so we decided to get it too, good thing we did :) my husband got surf and Turf for his meal . Only thing wrong was the meat was medium , not medium rare like he had ordered and his risotto was cold in the middle so seemed like it was old and they reheated it and put it on the plate . I had the walleye special, I never had walleye before so I took a gamble and ended up loving it . It said it came with broccoli but they decided to give me corn, which I'm allergic to , thought that was odd that you add a different side instead of was was suppose to come with it but Joanne got me my broccoli and offered her apology . The goods outweigh the negatives so we would definitely go back !! ** Bar Review ** A group of 4 of us stopped here on a Saturday for a few drinks around 3pm. The place was empty which I expected as this isn't a prime time for eating lunch, dinner or grabbing drinks. As someone who is introverted yet a selective 'extrovert' this was perfect for me. By 4:30pm the place did start to get busier. We decided to grab seats at the bar and within minutes we were served with water and drink menus. Throughout our time here service was attentive and fast. I ordered 2 drinks - a dragon fruit margarita which was fruity, refreshing and delightful. Next I tried the Pomegranate martini which was also fruity and easy to drink. Apparently I was in the mood for something sweet that day, haha! I also had a few sips of the smokey old fashioned. I am NOT someone who prefers whiskey or bourbon, however, after the initial gasoline down my throat experience I actually really enjoyed this drink. The smokey-ness was truly enjoyable and gave a very relaxing after taste feeling. I went online and order a meal for takeout. It was so easy and straightforward. I ordered early and scheduled pickup for 6:45. I received text messages at 6:23 and 6:40 with status updates. I arrived promptly at 6:45 and before I could text them to say I had arrived, a pleasant man was at my car door with my order. After eating a late lunch with family, we decided to come here to celebrate my cousin's passing her exam for work! She worked hard and it was time to raise a glass so she picked Bonefish Grill! There were 4 of us so we decided to sit at the bar. When we sat down, we were instantly greeted by the bartender. We were given menus and were asked if we wanted water while we decided on the drinks. I looked at menu even though I knew what I wanted, an Old Fashioned. When the bartender came back, I ordered it and he asked if I wanted it smoked. I said yes as I have not tried it that way in the past. When he came with our drinks, the old fashioned was presented with a smoked encased glass which I was not expecting. I let the smoke infuse and finally lifted the top glass to release the smoke. It was pretty cool experience for me. The bartender mixed the drink and I actually really liked the smoke flavor. The large square ice cube sat in the glass and slowly chilled the bourbon with the perfect amount of bitters and simple syrup. As liquor reduced with every sip, I couldn't wait to eat the Bordeaux Cherry and it was well worth the wait. Overall, it was a great time due to the drinks and service but celebrating my cousins accomplishment made it better. Congrats cuz! read more

My husband and I went to Bonefish Grill with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. The dining room was not very full yet the hostess seated us right next to another table that was full. Throughout the lunch the dining room was never more than 25% full, yet all of the tables and booths around us were filled. I understand that you want to make your service efficient BUT when this happens it makes it harder to hear the people at your table and enjoy your time at the restaurant. To start, you are served bread and olive oil. We tried the creme Brule French toast from the brunch menu, the crab cakes, and the bang bang shrimp. The French toast was good but I couldn't taste the orange flavor that was advertised in the menu. The crab cakes were very good and the bang bang shrimp was fried well with a spicy sauce. We have lived in the Schaumburg area for a long time and for some reason had not been here until just recently. And now we will definitely be going to this restaurant more often. We were there on a Saturday night. Seated promptly at our reservation time. The service was great! Our waitress was very helpful and she was working hard. We've been coming to this Bonefish for years and love it! I mentioned previously that staff here are veterans and seem to stay for a while, and that is still true. John was our server last night and he is truly amazing!! He took care of us on previous visits and we remembered him. We were celebrating our anniversary the day after the fact, and he truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was great from start to finish. There are many seafood options in the area closer to home, but Bonefish is always at the top of our list! We'll happily drive a little out of our way during rush hour in the rain to get out here for a great seafood dinner! read more

It was a Sunday afternoon. The wife and I, along with some friends, ventured out to Bonefish Grill. This was strictly a drink tasting excursion but we plan to go back for food for happy hour. The bartenders were attentive and quick to refill or drinks. I first got a Crushed Pineapple Martini to quench my sweet tooth. It was good. No complaints. I drank it quickly because I really wanted to try the Smoked Old Fashioned. It came with a glass full of smoke on top of the drink. I let it sit for a minute or two to let the smoke infuse with the drink. (Not sure if that's how that works, but I did it anyway) It was probably the best old fashioned I've had. It's made with Woodford Reserve bourbon. I might just buy a bottle for myself one day now. Look for my next review when we try some happy hour deals! read more

I was really disappointed by my experience but I really appreciate the service given by Kristen, the manager, who worked to ensure my satisfaction. I ordered my fav Bonefish Grill salad - Caesar with salmon. Unfortunately, when the salad arrived, the lettuce was wet and wilted. After taking the salad back, they brought a new salad with different lettuce, but the same piece of salmon which was now lukewarm at best. At this point, I decided to just call it quits since it was clear that they were not going to get my fav salad right. However, Kristen was persistent and didn't want me to leave hungry, so she asked what could she do. I reluctantly decided to order some bang bang shrimp, which I also love from Bonefish. The shrimp came out and were hot and delicious, which saved the evening. When it was time for me to leave and I asked for the check, I was super appreciative that they had not charged me at all. It was a date night for us. This is our 25th year of being married so he wanted to go to someplace we've never been before. This is a chain restaurant so you get what you get . The place had a nice atmosphere and out Waiter Rob was attentive and provided good services. I had the grilled scallops and shrimp came with mango salsa, rice, and steamed green beans. My wife had the catch of the day which was halibut with rice and steamed green beans. The portions were small enough that we were able to finish our entire meal and share a cheesecake. Everything was tasty. The only downside is the green beans could've been steamed a little longer, and the Halibut was a little overcooked. Everything else seemed OK and Rob was pleasure to have waiting on us. It's debatable whether we go back again. We will just have to see how that goes. read more

I am super- fussy. I've been here twice since May and I have zero complaints. Comfortable. Very attentive staff. The Walleye pi,e I had last time was quite good last time. Because I'm lactose intolerant, they had to improvise a bit, but once I added lemon it was great. Tonight's Burbon Salmon was great. My only peeve would be that the potatoes could have used some garlic, but still good. Asparagus is cooked to perfection. Their house Chardonay is the best I've ever had. We stopped here for a late lunch after attending the Aquashella convention in Schaumburg, IL. Aquashella is the largest fish aquarium event in the U.S. We purchased tickets a while back, so although I was a bit under the weather during the convention, I went anyway thinking that getting out of the house would be good for me. I enjoyed the convention and was pretty hungry afterward when I arrived at Bonefish Grill. I've eaten at other locations so I knew what to expect. I ordered the Atlantic salmon with bacon Mac n' cheese and steamed asparagus. It was pretty good. The fish was cooked perfectly. The Mac n' cheese was okay - nothing unique about it, but it was good. The same can be said about the asparagus. Overall, the meal was good and the ambiance was relaxing. I had a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.
