Man, it had been years since I last visited a Fogo. I came this past Sunday 9/13 to celebrate my wife and I's 1st wedding anniversary, woohoo! I made reservations for 6:15 ahead of time and was seated right away. Once we got to our table we were quickly greeted by our first waitress. She was nice but I kinda felt she had a concerned look on her face like someone just told her something that irritated her lmao. My wife said she felt she was giving her a dirty look. Idk. Not because of the waitress, I asked to move a table over because I preferred the view from there. We were initially behind a pillar. The vibe was nice and some patrons were dressed way more casually than I expected. I know it's not a super duper fancy place but still, it surprised me a little. When we moved over we had a few other people tend to us, but Michael was the main one who would continue to come by the most. He was awesome. Super polite and friendly, attentive but not overly. I went out of the way to stop the manager and tell her he was awesome. In the same breath, I said the same about a gaucho named Diego. Apparently he's knew, but he was very friendly and would make casual conversation with us. All gauchos were good, but he stood out. Shoutout Michael and Diego! To drink we had our waters and I ordered this bourbon drink that was good, and my wife had a sangria. The sangria was a very generous portion and she couldn't finish it. Onto the food! I wish I would've taken more pictures but I was in the zone! I only managed to snag a picture of their shrimp appetizer. It was 6 large shrimp with cocktail sauce. It was solid but I'd probably order something different next time. Now onto the meats! I said yes to every single piece of meat that was offered to me lol. Sadly, the filet mignon was my favorite and came out last. So good! Super tender and flavorful. Easily my favorite. I didn't get a chance to try the Parmesan chicken which I remember loving from years ago. Other meats were all solid as well. There was a spicy meat that was runner up. I did make two goes at the salad bar and loaded up on deli meats, cheese, salmon, and their chicken salad. The cheese bread they bring out to you is good too. They brought complimentary polenta and caramelized plantains that were very good as well. I'll definitely be back sooner than later, and maybe sooner than anticipated because I did receive a promotional text from them for 50% off my next visit. In my heart, Fogo will always be my first love for the "gaucho experience". But this sadly wasn't the Fogo I remember. I remember when Fogo first came to Houston around the year 2000. It was the pioneer of modern churrascarias before all the imitators arrived. I used to frequent the old Westheimer location across from Walmart often, and back then it always felt like magic. Admittedly it has been years since I've visited any Fogo, and I'd never been to the Woodlands location before. Before arriving, I had talked it up to my kid telling her stories of days gone by. As we walked, I was hoping the nostalgia would hold ... whelp it didn't. The staff was friendly as it always has been. But after the initial greeting our waiter disappeared. Never saw him again. Our plates were never swapped out like they used to do. And in fact we just kept eating off our used salad‑bar plate. So much for fine dining. And No pão de queijo! I kept telling my kid about the legendary cheesy bread here. We didn't get any. Nada. And in fact we didn't get any of the sides. And I eventually had to ask for the complimentary mashed potatoes after being well into the meal because my kid kept asking when the mashed potatoes would arrive. The asparagus on the buffet honestly looked like green beans -- a far cry from the thick, vibrant stalks they used to serve. I remember they were like stalks of carrots back in the day. Some of the meats weren't even warm. And some of the cuts were tough. No premium meats ever made it to our table. The green/red steak medallions on each table to flip over indicating "more meat!" used to feel like part of the whole experience -- solid, good heft, almost ceremonial. Now it's just paper cutouts. Not just this location but the Westheimer one too in this regards. It felt like Fogo was basically admitting they're cutting corners on the tiny details that used to make the meal feel more premium. And honestly, those medallions discs mattered. They made the whole "more meat / no more meat" thing feel official instead of arts-and-crafts cut outs they have now. And the flies here. Ugh. So aggressive and persistent. I have no idea how they got inside the establishment. But they were annoying and relentless. At the end of the meal my kid looked at me and said, "Can we just go to LongHorn next time?" I really wanted to pass down the magic that I had remembered, but honestly I couldn't argue with her. "You bet," I told her. It kind of reminded me of seeing Depeche Mode as an adult -- the nostalgia was there, but the feeling just wasn't. Some experiences are better preserved as memories, rather than trying to be revived and relived. This unfortunately was one of them. Sigh. read more

We came for a team building event and I'd say that I did like the place but there were these tiny gnat flies all over the salad bar and around the table which was making me insane. I don't know how they could have fixed it but there were so many. Another item I felt was lacking was service when it came for drinks and sauces. We love Brazilian Steakhouses. The variety of meats and the flavor is delicious. My favorite is the Picanha and flank steak. They provide cheesy bread, fried plantains, mash potatoes, and fried yucca. The salad bar has a large variety of additional sides. The atmosphere is buzzing with the service of meats and staff running table to table to help provide service. We went recently for my son's birthdays. They did not do birthday song but they did provide a dessert. They have two options for the Churrasco menu. We choose the full Churrasco, the upgraded version comes with a premium side and a desert. I would recommend going when they are busy. We have been during non peak hours and the service and offerings were limited. Try everything, when they are serving you can ask for smaller portions. read more

Valet parking was free from 11-4, which was a nice touch. We made reservations for noon and arrived early. Since it was Mother's Day weekend, it did get busy as we were leaving. The food was excellent and fresh, with the exception of the omelet station. There was plenty of bread, and the waitstaff was very attentive, checking on us throughout the meal. Was super excited for the company Christmas party being held here. Was gravely disappointed... The seating was tight, elbow to elbow, and a few coworkers showed up late due to an accident/traffic and they didn't get ti eat as well, not their restaurants fault. It felt as if the the first 3/4 of the table got the best service/meats/attention. We had to keep waving ppl over because we were at the end against a window and the spacing was so tight the waiters could barely fit to come near us. Not their fault. Salad bar was amazing. We love FOGO for any celebration or even just a lunch date. We come here often for my brothers birthdays. They love the options at the market table and sometimes they even have brunch options like waffles. Best cuts of meats and you honestly get so full after tasting a few. Sides are on point all the time. Plantains are yummy and potatoes are tasty. Favorite part is the cheese with honey... omg so delicious. Always turn your card green when this comes around. Don't worry about the pork or chicken, always go for the red meat here. Service is always fast when it comes to drinks but sometimes the meat deliverers are slow to come to your table. In my opinion one of the premier Fogo de Chao locations in the Houston area. The service here is well trained and attentive. The location and atmosphere simply can be beat by rival locations. One of the classier locations with excellent views of the nearby water and brilliant lighting coming through the glass walls. The market table only option is also a sneaky budget friendly option for lunch. And Ofcourse the meat cuts are all to Brazilian steakhouse standard. Came here for Christmas dinner we had an amazing time in fact I didn't take a lot of photos as we were having family time. My mother in law really needed a nice dinner she had recently lost her oldest son and husband of fifty years in the span of a few months apart, she needed to be pampered so we came to Fogo. Made our reservations weeks ahead (definitely do that) and called a day before ourselves to confirm we still had the reservation. We got there and the valet staff were amazing-valet don't do self parking as that is difficult. Went in a the restaurant was super busy!! It took a few minutes as there was eight of us so they had to put tables together to accommodate us. I can say the food situation was great however like most folks have stated getting alcohol beverages or even any drink took forever. Even getting our bill took forever, they looked fully staffed just extremely busy. We will come back. We always come between 3 or 5pm not late. Restaurant was clean and decor was good. read more

I have been here before and it was very bad. Bad service, the waiters were constantly missing our table, it almost looked like on purpose. I have been reading similar experiences for this particular location. Servers not coming to the table, some steak hard, chewy, and overdone, pieces of meat never showing up. I have been going to Fogo de Chao for more than 20 years starting with the Westhiemer location. It was the finest ingredients and service was the best. It's really sad to see the Woodlands location struggling like this. The meal was the worst I had in a long time, starting with the salad bar, it just didn't seem fresh. The meat was low grade, no flavor, overcooked and too tough to chew. My daughters ordered deserts and the molten lava cake was stale, the key lime pie seemed like it was sitting out for a week or so!!! Actually, I think they purchased the lowest grade of meat possible it was horrible and I will never eat there again!!! Sorry, but when I pay several hundred dollars for my family to eat I expect a high quality meal, and to top it off our drinks sat empty the whole time too!!!! Never Again!!!! read more

Never visited the place until a month ago. Sat outside at the patio bar, server was less than friendly, appetizer sliders were cold, drinks not replenished. Said we'd never go back. Well yesterday we wanted to sit outside for a drink and decided to give them another try. What a huge mistake that was to think things may be different. Bartender Daniel came to take out drink order and give us bar menus, never once smiling or welcoming us. Another server brought our drinks and was friendly. Daniel never came back to get a food order nor replenish our drinks. Personality of a rock.....bad day maybe, though it seems the bartenders we've run into they both have the same attitude. The food is delicious and the ambiance is very nice however, I don't feel like they came around enough with the meats. There were some long wait times in between meat servings and they often brought out the lower quality meats. We had to request the meats we wanted a few times which still included a wait time. My first time here at the woodlands location. I had a great meal. Loved the sides and they were all fresh and servers kept coming with fresh food to the self serve counter. Cuts of meats were done to our specifications because we like "well done" so when we told our servers they just knew what to come back to our table with and had no problems delivering. The breads they give at the table before meal is so delicious also. We had the Full Charrasco experience and it was great. I had a very disappointing experience at this steakhouse. We were seated by a window where the floor was completely soaked (likely from the rain outside) and it smelled strongly of mold, as if there may have been an issue with the window or sealing. Throughout our entire meal, every time we moved our feet, we could feel water splashing around in the carpet, which made it extremely uncomfortable and honestly pretty off putting. It also made the area feel unusually cold, so we sat through dinner feeling damp and chilled. We mentioned it to a server, but they didn't seem concerned at all or offer any solution, which made the experience even more frustrating. To make matters worse, one of the servers was wearing Meta glasses with the indicator light on, appearing to record while serving tables. That felt very invasive and uncomfortable during what should have been a relaxed dining experience. We were also looking forward to their "famous" brûléed cheesecake, but it didn't live up to expectations. It seems like it's prepared ahead of time rather than brûléed fresh, so it came out ice cold instead of having that warm, freshly torched top you'd expect. Overall, the experience felt very underwhelming for a steakhouse. There are definitely much better options out there. I'd honestly compare this to an Applebee's level experience, which isn't what you expect when going out for a nice steak dinner. read more

We went to many different Fogo de Chao locations, this is our first time at the Woodland location. It was a BIG disappointment. When you go to a steakhouse, you expect to experience many proteins especially beef since it's a steakhouse. However, we only had a few piece of meat as the meat server stopped by our table very little at a time. Picture below is my meat portion/kind of cut for the night. They brought the same kind of cuts and had very little variety. They had 1 grill chicken, 1 option for Parmesan pork, 2 kinds of cut for the steak (beef). That's it!!!! I mean, Fogo de chao has a long list of different kind of proteins, yet at this location we only offer 2 options for meat and chicken/pork listed above. We got full from their salad bar, cheese/beans station, cheese puff, mashed potato, fried plaintain, fries and wine. We felt cheated for our money!!! Leaving this restaurant, I thought I went to a salad bar rather than steakhouse. Service was super slow, we sat down, don't even have the dishes for the meat, we had to request for one. Although their employees are apologetic and all, we appreciate their apology. However, I felt the need to write this review in hope for them to improve in management in order to accompany the amount of guests. It's sad to see the grill station (we sat across from the open kitchen grill station) without anybody to manage the grill. People walk in and out grabbing the piece, couldn't circulate in every table, but only choose their favorite closest table to serve. It was disorganized, unfair for each table, create a bad customer service. Some guests left feeling full, some like us couldn't enjoy their much steaks portion, had to continue seeking for the meat person to come by despite the green/red light flip piece of paper on the table. I don't think their employee pay attention to that. It was annoying having to gaze at them, stop them in between as they fly by your table to the other favorite table one. It was hilarious that we need to do this in order to not leave hungry. My sister and parents gave up, upset, left the table and restaurant early as they don't want to express anymore anger and disappointment at the place. Food: salad bar is fresh, good and clean. Meat (limited options, some pieces are over cooked, some are super undercooked). Wine/cocktails are delicious. Cheese puff and other condiments are the same as other franchise/location. They really need to improve on the steak quality, service, and options. Otherwise, I rather drive to a different location to enjoy the experience of a Brazilian steakhouse. read more

I went there for the first time for a financial seminar that was being held in the restaurant so my experience might be different than a regular table customer. That being said the place is beautiful inside. Makes you feel like you are in a 5star restaurant. The salad bar was incredible. So many options. The basil salad dressing was very good. Now for the meats, I prefer my meats not to be still mooing or baaaaing. All the beef served was red or bleeding. The fat on the lamb was not rendered. No one out of the group of 20 ate it because it was so raw. I had the tres leche cake and everyone agreed it was supreme over the overly sweet chocolate cake and the plastic tasting key lime. Our group was large and the service we had was 2 star. I waited 10 minutes for a dessert fork. Never had my water refilled. My friend waited 10min for a cup of coffee while everyone else had there's. Went here with my family for my 50th birthday. Service was extremely slow. We waited almost 10 minutes for a simple glass of water and then once we ordered bar drinks the wait grew. Asked for the grilled pineapple several times and even or waiter did and it never made it to the table. The front lobby was dirty when we walked in with paper and items laying on the floor. The food was average nothing over the top. Salad bar was ok, but we will not go back.
