My cousin mentioned this place specifically because they have "fusion" sushi rolls so we decided to try the $55 platter of 5 chef's choice rolls (there are only 6 on the menu) and although I liked the one that had some sort of Seafood mixture on top and the maduro on top, the rolls were very basic and took a long time to come. The smell of hookah coals being lit is very unappealing while trying to eat. They do charge 18% gratuity automatically and while the $8 happy hour margaritas were not bad they charged us $12 for two (not very cool in my opinion when we are only one of two parties there during happy hour). The calamari was almost too chewy to be good- but the seasoning and sauce saved it. The waitresses were excellent and seem to only speak Spanish- but I was able to get by with what I know to say. I just made an order from Grubhub and although I appreciated that my food arrived hot, their are a few things that I was disappointed with. I ordered a Fokkus Roll, Krystal Roll, and a Skirt Steak Mofongo. My steak was good but not great because of the way it was cut. I found some pieces to be very chewy and thick. They should have sliced it thinner. My mofongo was very good but the sauce it came with was very overwhelming. It was made with a heavy cream sauce and not meaty savory one. I mean you are supposed to drown the mofongo to keep it moist but it should be with a tasty sauce, this sauce was just to rich. Did not like it much. My kids love the rolls they received but one of them happened to be one we didn't ordered. We were able to figure out the difference by the ingredients they listed. That was disappointing because my daughter doesn't like sweet plantains. She also found it to be very sweet adding to it this sweet mango sauce they served with it. She just took off the sweet plantains. My oldest had no complaints about her roll. I was just happy that it was the same price as the one we ordered. Didn't lose any money, but still the mix up wasn't cool. Overall I found everything to be ok, but don't think I would buy from here again only because its still a pandemic and I rather just order something myself and check the items before I leave, rather than using Grubhub and paying what seems like extra unnecessary money. read more

Disgusted. I went here with a group of friends, and as expected, I was searched along with everyone in the group. However, the female bouncer who searched the women in our group was way too intrusive. She fully grabbed our boobs and slid her arm straight up my skirt. She had her entire forearm between my legs and pulled up and towards her. I understand precautions need to be taken in certain areas or locations but I felt completely violated. All of the other women in our group stated the same. Additionally, when we stepped outside to leave other women were being searched and complaining as well. Anyway, parking sucks in this area but I was lucky to find parking about 3-4 blocks away. I ordered some really huge drink that was about 20$ (They said this was the only drink available at this time) My date & I also got the hookah (30$) and the calamari. The calamari was OK. Cute restaurant that turns into a lounge after hours. The food... I tried the Dominican Sushi roll, made with sausage; it was delicious. The yuca paradise was full of flavor. Perfect pairing of cheese that made the dish stand out. It was so tasty the shrimp was not needed. The salmon was tender and juicy and not over cooked. The drinks were strong. I had a great time. The chef "Dominican Ninja" is awesome, a very personable guy. My only complaint is that after you finish your sangria (which they give you 1.5 hours) they basically kick you out. In other words, if you're not a hookah smoker you have to eat your food and go. My sister has been trying to get my friends and I to come out to this place for months. To be honest I was scared to give it a chance as it's in the Bronx, but I had a great time. They have $35 margarita/sangria/ mojito pitchers. The pitchers r humongous! The drinks were great, they have a dj that plays literally everything. My only complaint was the food which is always a big part of if I'll ever come back or not. I didn't like any of the appetizers. I ordered a ceviche and it was so gross. They charge you $400 for decorating for a birthday theme and don't even include your name on the menu and give you ONE BALLOON as part of the decoration. Horrible horrible place. For starters, it was $60 to get in for me and 2 other people, then it was a mandatory $15 coat check???? I've never met a place where they MAKE YOU do that. Second EVERY SINGLE table was "reserved" and we couldn't have a table unless we paid for bottle service. The food and drinks were good specially when Esmeralda was the bartender. Overall, I had a great experience there on my first couple of visits. However, this all changed when they decided to come up with stupid new policies such as no credit/debit cards, entrance fees, and higher prices on their drink. I believe for a place in the Bronx their standards are a little bit high. You can just cross the bridge and find ten places where your money is better worth spending.
