I've reviewed this place in the past and it continues to be my favorite breakfast in Gulf Shores. The food is consistently delicious and the staff are familiar from the many years I have been coming here, so they are doing something right! Two things to know. First, if you get a bloody Mary (and you should), the double is double vodka, not a larger drink. That makes sense when I think about it now, but it was a STRONG drink. Second, our server suggested adding sausage to the biscuit and gravy, so I gave it a shot. I didn't think they could make their gravy better, and I stand corrected. I will keep doing that!!

Polite and prompt service. Very easy parking, lots of happy customers and a bubbling environment. Lots of traditional American items on the menu.

This was my first time at Kitty's Kafe and I enjoyed it! The Kafe was pet themed and adorable. There were pictures on the walls of pets and painted murals of animals - great attention to detail! We were seated quickly and the staff were polite. I ordered from the breakfast menu but one could also order from the lunch menu. I got the eggs Benedict with Canadian ham and grits. All were good. I would come here again!

Today was my very first time trying this cafe out. The service was great, the ambiance was a really homey feeling. The staff was nice, menu was easy to read and pick from, except one thing... I ordered a kountry breakfast and I did not want to make a scene, I wanted to be nice and not say a word but please make sure the food is checked before serving, the food was great, well my fiancés own was but this threw me off.

Oh wow! I found something on the menu I haven't seen in years.... SOS (chipped beef on toast)! It was SO GOOD! Friend got the hamburger steak and was extremely pleased with that. Giant cup of coffee to seal the deal! Will definitely be back! Awesome top notch service too!

Lots of pictures of dogs and cats.

Very cool old school diner with good lunch specials. I went real Southern with fried chicken livers, speckled butter beans, fried green tomatoes and cornbread. All that and sweet tea for $10.99. My wife had fried chicken, green beans, mac and cheese and a roll for $11.99 (drink included). Fast, friendly service and cool decor (lots of pictures of dogs and cats) made for an excellent lunch. Check 'em out!

Visiting Gulf Shores, AL? Nice seeing you... now go home!…read more LOL, I had to start out with that one. But seriously--whether you're a local or just visiting, you have to try Duck's Diner - Gulf Shores. It's a true local favorite, and it keeps getting busier now that the tourists have discovered it too. One of my personal favorites is the Creole Shrimp & Grits--a true classic packed with awesome flavor. They are definitely not skimpy on the sauce or the shrimp, so be ready because you're probably going to need a to-go box. More of a burger person? Heck yeah--the Cowboy Burger is always a strong favorite and a solid choice. Want a sandwich instead? Go with the Reuben on Rye. It's definitely a winner and never disappoints. Need something to drink? They've got you covered with everything from good coffee and sweet tea to a Screwdriver, which happens to be one of my favorites. Overall, you really can't go wrong stopping in here. Sometimes I almost wish y'all wouldn't because it gets so busy , but I'd hate for anyone to miss out on one of the best local spots around. If you stop in, tell them the local biker "1/2 Time" sent ya! I won't get anything for it, but at least they'll know I was true to my word and gave them the solid review I promised.

Although there was a line out the door the wait was less than 15 minutes on a Fri morning. The berry biscuits tasted a lot like a funnel cake--really good. Kids enjoyed their Nutella and chocolate chip pancakes. My husband had the stuffed French toast and it was delicious and a huge portion--def meant to be shared. I was a bit disappointed with the Creole Benedict. Underneath my poached eggs was what tasted like a seared piece of ham or spam and I just wasn't a fan of this, I don't believe I read this in the description. In my opinion overwhelmed the other flavors in this dish. We overall enjoyed this for a nicer casual sit down breakfast in the area.

Hominy, hush puppies, cornbread, grits, Alabama white sauce on any meat, especially smoked chicken, are all popular in Alabama. BBQ is practically a religion in the South! As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.

It's a locally owned and operated restaurant in my neighborhood called PHO-MO Asian Kitchen & Grill. It was a pleasant surprise since I've had hit-or-miss experiences with pho restaurants around the country, and I was a little skeptical since my research revealed that they also serve Chinese and smash burgers. Well, they totally won me over because absolutely every dish we had exceeded expectations. The spot itself has a really nice, clean look inside. The decor is simple and welcoming, with bright white walls, modern light fixtures, and a clean concrete floor that gives it a fresh, up-to-date vibe. I do fancy restaurants that have an open kitchen, well when you walk in, you can see right into theirs through a window where everything is made to order. Online reviews were outstanding, with a near-perfect 4.9-star rating, with lots of folks pointing out how great it is to have a solid Asian kitchen right here in town. For the food, as my research indicated, the menu is surprisingly diverse. Our appetizers set a pretty high bar, starting with the spring rolls, which were the biggest I've had, fresh, and came with a delightful peanut sauce. The steamed dumplings were also incredibly fresh, light, and very tasty, so off to a great start. For the main course, my General Tso's chicken was different from many I have had in the past. It did not serve the chicken floating in a heavy sauce with a bunch of different vegetables. Instead, the chicken was fried light and crispy, served by itself, and tossed in a sauce that was beautifully balanced and delicious. My honey had the shrimp lo mein and she called it outstanding. I tried it and completely agreed, the noodles were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right with plump small shrimp. And throughout our visit the service was excellent, and the food was served promptly, fresh and hot. Looking over the rest of the menu, they have a massive selection of traditional Vietnamese pho options, rice bowls, stir-fry dishes, and even specialty burgers like a Banh Mi burger. I am definitely going to be returning here regularly, and I look forward to trying some of their other dishes down the road. I know, how's the Pho, well that'll be next but I also have my eye on the Hawaiian burger :-) Bottom line: Fresh, hot food, excellent service, and a great addition to the neighborhood. Highly recommend giving them a try if you want high-quality Asian food around these parts!!!

See the picture of vegetables and garnishes needed and usually in pork bun vermicelli. I had almost none of these and had asked for a side of the normal basil, bean sprouts and jalapeños and was told they don't come with this dish. I asked for them anyway and got a small baggie of bean sprouts with a few measly jalapeno slices. The pork itself was hard as a rock like it was old. The fresh rolls also lack herbs usually included and were shrimp, lettuce and noodles only. They need to follow the more traditional recipe. I guess they do this to save money but unless we start getting something closer to original recipe we will quit ordering.
