One of the gals mentioned they knew the owner of the place that we should check out the store and see if the owner was in town. While waiting for the owner we took a look around and found some cute, fun and funny things! They had a Christmas tree decorated with camping themed merchandise which of course caught our attention. They had a little bit of everything for almost everyone and any age. Well, maybe not for infants at least i don't recall seeing anything for infants. The found the prices on some of the merchandise to be reasonable. Some of the clothing were on the pricey side. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't purchase the really cute, and funny kitchen towels, I did purchase a couple of stickers (I enjoy stickers!). This business will find me here again if ever in the area.

They've always done a good job of creating small vignettes to show off different themes. This being Ventura, they definitely carry a lot of beach-themed items. One area that caught my eye this time was a section with camping / get outdoors / celebrating the National Parks merchandise. Some very cute and unique stuff to be had in that section. I found something for my aunt to make as a gift. She's making a goal to get around to all of the National Parks, and is steadily chipping away at it. What I got will help memorialize that in a whimsical way. The ladies who work the store are friendly and helpful, which makes the shopping experience even more delightful. Take your sense of humor in when you visit - you never know what you'll find to make you smile and even laugh out loud.

They handled the things we did not have time to do, and even source contractors for us. To say this was worth the investment, is an understatement. Throughout the whole process, there were no feelings of stress or anxiety, I knew that they could handle everything.

Apparently I interrupted her morning when she had to ring me up and bag my items. There was absolutely no line and no one in the store and she rudely pointed to the line que and said "the line starts over there but I guess I can help you !?" Then said nothing to me except " your receipts in the bag" .. Honestly someone needs to train Monique on customer service. Their jewelry was pretty and I liked some of their gift accessories like hats and passport tags etc. The store was clean and spacious enough to walk around without bumping into people. Multiple staff on shift which was nice as one gal was walking the floor talking about sales while another could attend to customers wanting to pay. A lot of thought went into what and where to buy. We are so thankful we chose this place! First off, David and Jesse are knowledgeable and professional, and it's obvious they take pride in what they do and have great concern and care for their customers. It's not just a job for them! Jesse delivered the couch himself 3 days after we bought it. He was efficient and careful, and did it all with smiles and professionalism. Through no fault of the store, however, the couch we bought had a manufacturer defect and so did the replacement that was first sent. It took us about a week and a half to finally get the couch we paid for. With the impact on us financially due to the amount we invested in it, of course we were more than concerned and worried. But, through the whole situation, David and Jesse were prompt to get answers for us and were on the phone frequently with the manufacturer on our behalf. David called us several times himself to update and reassure us. He had great concern for us, and wanted to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our purchase. You just don't get this kind of customer service from a big box store, and especially not from the likes of Amazon. I always wondered why this small shop on the corner of Seaward and Main has been there for what seems like forever. Now I know why! I highly recommend The Couch Potato, and David and Jesse for your furniture needs - trustworthy, friendly, professional, and caring service. We will come here again when the need arises. I rarely write negative reviews, but after a year of dealing with this sofa, I feel other buyers…read moreshould know about my experience. From the beginning, the seat cushions have been much too soft and have never provided proper support. When I sit on the sofa, I sink deeply into the cushions instead of being supported. The lack of firmness causes my hips to drop, leaving my lower back unsupported. It has become so uncomfortable that I have gotten up with significant back pain, and on one occasion I was literally doubled over after sitting on it. The company has replaced the foam cushions twice, but neither replacement solved the problem. The sofa continues to sag, and the seating support has never been what I expected from a new piece of furniture. The most disappointing part has been the lack of a permanent resolution. After multiple repair attempts, I expected someone to take ownership of the problem, thoroughly inspect the sofa, determine whether the issue is the foam, the cushion construction, or the support system underneath, and make it right. Instead, I still have a sofa that is uncomfortable to sit on despite repeated attempts to fix it. A sofa is a major investment, and I expected it to provide lasting comfort and support. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. They have not stepped up or reached out to me to resolve this matter.
