Run away from the furniture store located in Oxnard. The service was okay because they only wanted our money and their commission. The problem was when it was time for them to deliver the merchandise on the date they promised. They didn't have the decency to notify us that the delivery date changed; instead, my husband had to call them multiple times. To our surprise, every time they answered the phone, the answer was the same: "We don't know where your merchandise is." They claimed that their computers were down. So we kept calling them instead of them calling us. Finally, when the merchandise was found, they said that they would deliver it until their truck was full because it was in their LA warehouse and they weren't making a special delivery to Oxnard. read more

We waited a couple of weeks for a fabric sample for a recliner and when we finally chose our leather color, we paid and waited for it to arrive. We then got a message that the power recliner we wanted didn't come in leather. When they refunded our money, they shorted us $160. My daughter was shopping for a couch. Kind of like her second big adult purchase. We went into another unnamed furniture store and it was not a great experience. Then we wandered into this one and met this fantastic furniture salesman named Monty. From the get-go the vibe of the place was awesome. They had tons of couches to sit on, over 400 fabrics to choose from and infinite ways to customize our own design. Monty answered all of our questions and gave us tons of space to wander around and think and test couches. We were also helped by the manager Tony who has been there for over 25 years. As an aside, any company that keeps employees as long as this one is a good sign. There was another guy who was fantastic though we did not catch his name. It felt like making a deal with family. The prices were absolutely great compared to other stores and the service is the way service used to be. Thank you to all the employees of Reeds! I've visited both rates locations within the last month twice. Seeking a specific Flexsteel brand leather powered reclining couch, I was impressed with their massive selection at the agora Hills location. Unfortunately, the attitude of the sales staff in Agoura Hills was very offputting. During my first visit the store was very busy, so I chalked my poor experience up to the high capacity of store visitors. During my second visit I had decided to move forward with my purchase and arrived nine minutes before closing. I only know they were closing in nine minutes because it was the very first thing they barked at me as I walked through the door. Their posted closing time on Yelp was listed as 7 PM, but due to COVID, they have apparently adjusted their closing time until 6 PM. I advise the gentleman that greeted me I simply wanted to take a quick look at their inventory to be sure they did not have what I wanted in stock before ordering it. He begrudgingly assisted me and it became apparent that I was impacting his after hours plans by having to do so. I ended up apologizing to him for delaying his departure, provided him with the specific model and color I wanted, gave him my contact info and asked him to call me the next morning so I could place the order. I didn't hear from him at all the next day. This was an easy $2,300 sale. I finally reached out to my local Flexsteel dealer here on the central coast and discovered they had the exact color and model couch I wanted in stock. I made my purchase and within an hour of doing so, the Reeds sales person called to take my order. I let him now I had already purchased elsewhere, but continued to receive a total of 7 calls over c the next 2days. Well they do have an outstanding selection of furniture in Agoura Hills, I think they would serve them Southwell by having a sales person such as Eva and their other location, and train them on how to service customers in a professional manner. She was really great but unfortunately that location did not have anywhere near the selection. read more

My husband and I bought a new home and decided to buy new furniture to go with it. I shopped around before deciding on a bed frame. I loved the ones I saw at Reeds. I ordered a new bed frame, and also a dining room table and buffet, because they were priced so good. I loved the customer service, and I think that the furniture was well priced. I'm pleased with the service and the prices. They have some cute pieces in there. One of my favorite things about this place is that you can walk around and browse at your leisure, also they always have a lot of items discounted at really amazing prices. They're near several other furniture stores so it's a good place to go and browse around for new home furnishings! You never know what you might find that you didn't even know you needed until you saw it. That's what happens every time I'm there. I go in thinking I'm looking for one thing and come out of there with several things, and I love getting inspired! I need to go back in soon and see what else I can find. Love shopping here! I went home checked Reeds website which had console marked at $925(in store orig price $1400 marked down to $1100). I sent Reeds an email that it's disheartening that they would not have $925 price in store especially since their website goes into such detail about price honesty, no haggle pricing. As luck/karma would have it I found the exact console set on Amazon for $784! Someone did call me back saying signage was old and they hadn't had time to change it.... I love my new dining room table because it is unique. It has a Lazy Susan built into the middle of it and fits fantastically in my new apartment. What I don't love is that you (Paul my salesman) over promised and under delivered. I was agonizing over a table and had been to many showrooms. I wanted something high enough seating wise (I am 6'4") and wanted a high barstool type of bistro table. I settled on the Lazy Susan one, made a decision and went back on June 19, 2020 to buy it. You said 6 weeks to 2 months. Okay, I was good with that, but when I went back at the end of July, you couldn't find my paperwork and also discovered you had the wrong phone number. You said, "sorry, you must have misunderstood and we meant 3 months". Then a few days later you called and said the table will be here in 3 weeks. 4 weeks later I went back in and you didn't even acknowledge that and went into pure panic mode. I was a car sales professional for 22 years. I worked for high end dealerships (Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, Acura) and I KNOW you cannot over promise and under deliver for then, you will not have ANYONE come back to you because you basically LIED!! I am used to dealing with professionals and unfortunately, you and your company are not professional. My brother and sister are planning on buying furniture for two homes and were watching my experience closely. You just lost out on $50,000 worth of furniture for their two homes, not only my new acquisition which I had budgeted $25,000 for furnishings. So, in closing, WE will go elsewhere for our furniture. Sales is the same in all settings. You show the customer the value, features and benefits and they will buy from you. Treating customers like you treated me means unfavorable reviews and a HUGE loss of income. By the way, I gave you one Star for the table...I am not allowed to give you 10 negative stars for my treatment. Would I recommend you? I would if your customers enjoy being upset, pissed off, frustrated and feel like you just took advantage of them. read more

Long time previously happy Customer.probably spent $10,000.00 or more over the years. purchased a couch in Nov. 2020 for just under $3,000.00. Within 2 WEEKS of delivery the mechanism began to smolder. The recliner & Lumbar function on one side broke . The "stuffing" in the seat backs deteriorated . It is either poor quality materials or the couch was not stuffed with the proper amount of Materials. The seat on the other side broke.When you sit n it, you tilt to the right. Spoke to co- owner, Husband of.Dru Wickman. We have been dealing with Reeds Furniture and Flexsteel Corp. since then. Even though there is 3 major component failures and a possible FIRE HAZARD, The retailer denied our request to remove this product and refund our purchase price. read more

I have to give a shout out to the Oxnard Reeds Furniture store as they have gone SO far above and beyond the call of duty, that I must tell you about it. I bought an "As Is" recliner off their floor yesterday. Since it was a small one I asked if they could try putting it into the back of my SUV as I was super excited to get it. I've had 2 major back surgeries over the past 7 years and since have not found a chair that I can sit in for any length of time. My darling sales person Judy said she was pretty sure George could get it in. I had brought blankets to pad it, but she said that George would wrap it and put it in. He took such care that it was practically gift-wrapped in plastic! So I get home and my not-so-handy husband didn't think he needed help getting it out of the car and into the house as he had a hand truck that he was going to use. Well, that was a really bad idea. He ended up severing one of the cords under the chair which ruined it. I nearly died. I called the store and Judy wasn't available at the moment, but I was told who to call for this situation. He gave me his advice to try to fix it, but said if that didn't work, a whole new motor system was what it would then need. Time for gin............ Judy ended up calling me shortly after that and told me to wait a minute and put George onto the phone. He was so lovely and very kindly said he would come over and see what he could do with it after work. He tried everything but unfortunately, no, it couldn't be fixed. He said he'd look around the store the next day and see if he could find the part (which the odds were slim to none), otherwise he'd have Judy call me to order the new piece (from China, ugh...) so probably wouldn't see it for months. The gin and I had come to terms with the fact that accidents happen and that's the way it goes sometimes. I've got to tell you that I also bent Jesus' ear a handful of times praying it could be fixed, but really didn't think at this point I had a chance. Low and behold this morning George texted me to call him as he thought he found the part! Dear Judy moved heaven and earth with him to get this and my gratitude is through the roof! I've been in so much pain that I really needed to break down and buy a special chair, and this one was finally the one. George is coming back over tonight after work (again!), so God Bless him! This is such a true example of going above the call of duty for the customer, that I'd be remiss not to share it. Now I don't have to feel badly for my poor husband who really tried to be helpful, and I'm confident my back is going to finally be cushioned properly so I can have a place to sit. I placed an order for a sofa back in early July with a very helpful rep, with the expectation there would be a delay of up to 10 weeks. In mid-September I called Reed's and was told the manufacturer expects delivery on Oct 14 to the store, then I'd receive a call to schedule the delivery. I called today and was told the new delivery date is December and I was informed by the rep who helped me back in July a few days ago. I have not spoken with the rep and neither has my spouse. This is unsatisfactory for obvious reasons. Difficult conversations are a huge part of customer service and bad news gets worse over time. Please communicate delays with urgency and honestly or risk losing customers who spend a lot of money at your establishment. Thank you. read more

I'm sad to leave a negative review but Reeds sold us a defective couch and has yet to help us despite it being under warranty. It's been the good old run around and they just don't seem to care. Lots of promises. No action. Over a month of an unusable couch. We're out a lot of $$ and got a lot of frustration in return. It's a stock item and I even offered to take time off work, drive the 2 hour round trip to exchange it myself. The rep said no! So much for the all the fluff on the Reeds website about customer service ambassadors. What a joke. You get better service at the Big box store. read more

He is not hovering over you while you are browsing around like all the other furniture stores we visited. Mark took his time to explain everything! He asked us to back home and take pictures, measure, and come back when we were ready. He drew out a map of our room; and really listened to what we were looking for and did not push a sell on us! When we moved into our new home two years ago we went to Reeds to look for furniture to fill the house that was double the size our prior home. We needed bedroom, living room, family room and dining room furniture. When I asked the sales woman if we could get a discount considering we were buying so much, she responded that 'They feel their prices are better than the competition and as low as they can make it, so NO, they wouldn't give us a discount. Bad answer. Bad business decision. We spent about $12 on filling our house. Even if she had said 'Sure, we'd love to offer you a $500 savings', it would have made us happy and they would have made a nice sale. Now we will not go back there and will not recommend them to anyone either. They should learn some sales skills. read more

Livid would not even come close to describing how frustrated I am with this business right now. The staff are incredibly unprofessional, inconsistent and unaccountable. I was told by a sales associate and operator that they have a location in Oxnard when I called to inquire about a few piece of theirs that I saw online. The sales associate then emailed me pictures of furniture options in their store based on my stated needs and quoted me a price for each piece. At this point all was good and I looked forward to purchasing the headboard of my dreams from Reeds. I scheduled an appointment with the sales associate who told me to make sure I ask for her, commission-based I guess, and drove down one hour from Santa Barbara to Oxnard only to discover that the Oxnard branch was closed; as in, not in service ever, and still under construction. When I called the sales associate to express my frustration about being misled into believing there was a location in Oxnard, I was told that I could simply drive another 45 minutes to an hour to their Agoura Hills location and purchase my items there because the Oxnard store isn't open yet. What?! She even mentioned that they'd shrink wrap the items and pack them in my truck. Big freaking deal! I used my Yelp app, called the OXNARD location, and was lead to believe that I had an appointment with their Oxnard location. I had no idea that they were routing phone calls to a different location. Moreover, I can't believe this sales associate wouldn't have mentioned it when I clearly stated that I was driving from SB to their Oxnard store. I would NEVER drive to Agoura Hills to purchase a headboard and am shocked by the manipulative measures taken to attempt to derive business. If I were you I'd steer clear of any location of this business not just because of my bad experience but the accumulation of bad experiences from other Yelpers. Good for you Reed's Furniture, you may have fooled me once but I'll be darned if I fall for this type of crap again. I should have listened to my fellow Yelpers and passed this business up at the sight of their two star rating overall rating on Yelp! read more

The Sale People Lie I went in to the store looking for a bedroom set. I explained what I wanted (contemporary with real wood construction) and the sales lady showed me what appeared to be a bargain. I asked repeatedly in the furniture was wood and she told me it was solid wood fronts and tops with veneers over plywood on the side. I turned the dresser around to see it was completely particle board with only a thin veneer! She tried to tell me that is how all furniture is constructed, never apologizing for her lie. read more

I have purchased a lot of furniture from Reeds over the years (from both locations). Most recently we picked up a 3-piece sectional and a swivel recliner/rocker. We actually came to the Oxnard store to view recliners but fell in love with the sectional. It was the Fairmont sectional and had the softest fabric ever. Not only that, they had a special going on that weekend. Two other couples purchased the same sectional while we were there as well. Eve, our salesperson was very patient and explained our ordering options with the sectional. We hadn't planned on looking at sectionals that day so we didn't have our room measurements with us or a floor tile sample that we could use for choosing fabric colors. She was not pushy at all and just continued telling us about our options. She then showed us a modern looking recliner that was no more expensive than something you might find at Costco (even used the same mechanism) but was better looking. They told us it would take 3 weeks for our order but they called in two weeks and said it was ready for delivery. We even got three calls with updates between the purchase and delivery. Wow! Their delivery guys struggled a bit getting it through the door but figured it out without damaging anything. Couldn't be happier with our experience. read more

We were RIPPED OFF by Reeds!! We ordered living room furniture, couch, chair, ottoman. Den furniture, two electric recliners. For the living room we received a couch, chair, ottoman with NO CUSHION!! Instead received a cushion for a chaise lounge & chair, no ottoman??? Our paper work says nothing about a chaise and Reeds refuses to correct THEIR ERROR?? We were told two years ago this would be taken care of, to this day they have made excuses and dodged our calls. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE AT REEDS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT!! Reeds furniture only orders most of the pillows online and gives you a wide variety of fabrics to use which is P cool, but hello I'm a horrible procrastinator and needed them that day. Instead of just escorting me out they gave me AMAZING recommendations to my noob brain to find the pillows I needed. So helpful and nice. Unprofessional salespersons and management. I would give them zero stars if I could. Do NOT shop here...too many better places with better quality and better prices that treat you with respect. We have purchased furniture here before and always felt we got good value for our dollar. We saw these beautiful theater style recliner / seats for about $3000 and were instantly ready to buy. We have seen these things for sale for up to $5000. We called the salesperson over and told him we were interested in buying the seats. We pointed out how low the price seemed and he wrote down all the information and went to talk to the assistant manager. The salesperson never came back. The assistant manager walked over, pulled the price tag off and walked away. We waited expecting the salesperson to come back. Never came back. The assistant manager came back and put a new price tag over $4000 on the seats and said "you should have bought it when it was $3000" and walked away. And that was that. Again, the salesperson never came back and the manager didn't apologize or even ask if we were still interested. I believe he just wanted us to leave so the problem with the mis-labeling would officially go away. We will never shop here again. Ever. Please don't shop here either. read more

I ordered a sofa and a queen size bed set on June 8, 2012. this saleswoman name Susan was in charge of helping us. however, she kept going back on her words. the first time we met, Susan said if i paid in full, my things will come on June 12 so i can pick it up the next day. when i went, Sarah wasn't there. so i changed my order to delivery. this other guy name Tony who is the manager of reeds furniture told me that Susan will call me tomorrow and explain whats going on. but i never got the call. my husband called the reeds furniture on June18, and they said they will deliver it to us 3days later. the next day, they called me that the deliver will be postponed. AGAIN?? after waiting so long, i was at my limit so i called them and was able to talk to Susan. that Susan gave me all these excuses about why she didn't call back and how my damn order is postponed AGAIN!! i paid in full for some shit that i might not even get. read more
