This Bed and Breakfast was a first for the wife and myself. When you pull up, this beautiful inviting country home sits on one of the few flat areas in the mountain. Mrs. Toni took us in and showed us around this beautiful rustic B&B. As soon as you walk in, the fireplace is at the heart of the home. Then the hot water/tea/am coffee station and cookies. The rooms are very private and there is a sitting/parlor area, dining area that is a wonderful area. Breakfast is to die for. Finishing up breakfast with a wonderful walk through the farm area is how I started my day. Then come back after a long day of trout fishing with a nice fire. Definitely recommend this country getaway!!

I wanted to do something active for my birthday weekend so my husband planned a fun hiking get-a-way to Bryson city. We enjoy staying at bed and breakfasts because they are quaint, cozy, and unique. As we pulled up to the bed and breakfast we were super impressed by the gardens, patios, yard games, and sitting areas. Toni let us check in a little early which was excellent customer service. We stayed in the Lights and Shadows room. Our room was so cute with an awesome little balcony with a view of the gardens and mountains. The bed and breakfast has an antique feel. The bed was super comfy. There were sweet treats and tea for enjoyment around 3:00 until evening. The brownies were the best I've ever had. I think I ate 8! Haha! Breakfast is served promptly at 9 with coffee starting at 7:30. Words can't do breakfast justice, so you will have to look at my pictures. These were 3 courses each morning and each one was carefully thought out and perfectly executed. The location the bed and breakfast is right by deep creek for those that want to tube, hike, or fish. Look out for specials on their website!

Thank you to Toni and Scott for an incredible weekend! This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. We've always stuck to AirBnbs and hotels...the Folkestone opened a whole new world of travel to us. I could equate our stay to a weekend at your favorite aunt or grandmothers home. The breakfast prepared each morning was out of this world, truly. Everything was seasoned to perfection, locally sourced, and just delightful. I cannot wait to go back!

Thanks to the Folkestone Inn I've got a winning record when choosing B&Bs. I made a reservation here for Mrs. B and I to stay during October. I was surprised that they had an opening on one of the peak weekends and that it was reasonably priced. We got there late Friday night after dark so we didn't get to see how beautiful the property was until the next day. Amazing! Being outside of town it was quiet and relaxing outside. The weather was great when we were there which made being outside that much more perfect. We stayed in the Petals & Stems room which is on the main floor. It is a nice cozy room. The bathroom had a claw foot bathtub which we were both excited about. Note that if you're a tall person getting a shower may be a bit fun. The ceiling is kind of low and the bathtub bottom is a few inches of the floor. I could touch the ceiling easily when showering and I'm under 6ft. Like all the ground floor rooms, ours also had a porch so we could sit outside. The breakfasts were very good. The first day was eggs with biscuits and gravy. The second day was chocolate french toast with a cherry topping. The seating is sort of mini restaurant style with a few tables in the dining area. We had a table to ourselves one day and shared one with another couple the next day.

My boyfriend and I don't need much and usually like to find off-the-beaten-path places but something about this little house in town spoke to me. I can not express how perfect it was for us! Very nice, character house and very comfortable. Rooms are cozy with antique furniture and a "your grandma's house" kinda feel. Breakfast was AMAZING.... I'm a southern girl and look forward to country breakfast and this beat out any breakfast I've had in a while! Price is VERY VERY reasonable for the hospitality and amenities offered. We are adventurers and adrenaline seekers so I wasn't sure how the B&B speed would work for us (we never want to be the "rowdy ones", coming in muddy or late and disturbing the "romanticals"). This Inn is perfect for EVERYONE. During our stay, there were 2 families with children, a backpacking couple, the musicians that played the Saturday night show at the local brewery, and of course us (rafting/biking/hiking and a little bit drunk each night). You will be comfortable here, no matter what you're speed. The best part of this whole experience is the Innkeeper, Luke, and his wife Layla. What an amazing, interesting guy! And so kind and hospitable. I would go back to this place just to get a chance to hang out with this guy more! STAY HERE. You'll love it.

Cozy up next to the fireplace, dive into a good book on a rocking chair, grab a board game to play with your spouse or kids, or just take a little nap while you listen to the rain showers. I highly recommend a stay here if you'd like a weekend retreat in the mountains of Western North Carolina and quality time with family and friends. Hemlock Inn is conveniently located a short drive from downtown Bryson City and the Cherokee side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hemlock Inn is a nice little place in the woods with quaint rooms, limited technology, and good Southern food. We booked a bed & breakfast package to take our son to the polar express last December. When we got there, no one was around, but there was a ziplock bag with an envelope pinned to a post with my name on it. In the envelope was a letter explaining that we were the only guests that night and the owners were out of town too, and that there would be no breakfast. We were told our room number and that the key would be in the room. We found the room under the front porch. Walked in to find that we were in the basement with polished rock walls and floors. The floors all sloped down and to the back of the room. There was no key to be found anywhere. We left some luggage in the room, but nothing valuable since we could not lock the door, and left for the polar express. We called the owner and left a message explaining our issues, but did not get a reply. We returned from our excursion late in the rain to a completely dark facility, except for our room. With no way to lock the door, because we had no key, I was very concerned for the safety of my family. I had an empty coke can, so I placed it in front of the door to at least alert me if someone tried to come in. Neither my wife nor I got much sleep. By 6am, we looked at each other and decided just to go home since there was no breakfast anyway. We also NEVER got any sort of credit for the lack of breakfast, but were still charged the full amount. This was the WORST hotel experience I have ever had and feel lucky that I am alive to tell the story. Unless you want the full "Cabin In The Woods" type experience, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
