I was referred to this place by a friend and made the mistake of eating beforehand on my first visit. This time, I came back with a close friend and our daughters for a daddy-daughter day, and the experience was outstanding. The food was amazing--everything was prepared perfectly--and the staff was incredibly polite and attentive. Crystal, our waitress, was especially accommodating and kind to our daughters, which truly made the experience even more enjoyable. We all had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning. When we get there, I ask about it and the waitress says they stopped doing it. I feel Folsom Tap House is very underrated! I have never had any food here that was not delicious. We always have great, friendly service as well. Their cocktails are phenomenal and a bang for your buck! Apparently, they have the chef from The now closed 'The Purple Place.' So a lot of the dishes have the same type of flair. The only downside is they used to have karaoke on Saturday nights and had a band as well. They have stopped doing that, but not sure why. So we don't go as often as we used to. The chef just added some now dishes to the menu and I had the chicken cordon bleu, it was spectacular! You really get a good deal on very nice dishes here. We came here for brunch, and it was delicious. We had the traditional Eggs Benedict and Chicken Fried Steak; both were excellent. It was by far the best breakfast in Folsom at a very reasonable price. I am surprised that we don't see more people coming in for brunch on the weekend. My understanding is that they serve brunch at 9:00am on Sunday and 11:00am on Saturday. read more

I had a nearly perfect experience with FTH. My wife and I had appetizers and beers and watched the morning games. On the strength of the appetizers, we ordered two sandwiches to go. When we got home my French dip was missing the au jus. Usually I just wouldn't return but I wanted to see if they would offer me anything. I was very satisfied with FTH offering me a substantial gift card. We returned to spend it and even got an off menu appetizer at happy hour pricing. Great food, great service. Been a long time since I've been here as I have always gotten horrible service and horrible food; however, went here with a friend the other day because a sign said "under new ownership." Was absolutely pleasantly surprised. Incredible marsala chicken. Friend got a club sandwich that was tasty. Ok, I've been coming for a few months now, and I can't stress enough just how good the food is. I put a big review on Google, and will do so again here. :) 5+ Stars... EASY. Apparently in the past, the food had issues, and the owner got in a new chef/kitchen staff that re-imagined everything. The result, some of the best food around. Everything we have tried has been 5 star... good to the point that we sit there thinking that the food is WAY better than it should be for a pub or a tap house. The rueben sandwich for example... best I've ever had. Not by a little, but by a lot... mainly because they smoke their own pastrami. The giant monster Tap House Burger... unbelievable. (They take a half pound great burger, and stack it with saurkraut and pastrami... it's HUGE and delicious). Salads? Monsters again, and super fresh, with tons of goodies on them. The dessert menu changes often, so you have to ask what they have that day. EVERYTHING is house-made... the very best is a creme brulee donut with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. Life changing it's so good. On tuesdays they do Taco Tuesday, and they are fantastic. Not little dinky street tacos, good size, and very yummy. There's like 8 or more types... my favorite was the korean BBQ taco. I know, it's epic. There is no way you can walk in hungry and not walk out without going "Holy cow, that was soooo good, let's come back really soon", because that's what happened to us. I found deplorable that when received my bill was a 50 cents credit card fee on bill which I always pay cash so appears they sneak this charge in to stick it to their patrons. Most businesses absorb the Bank credit card transaction 25c fee or whatever with profit make on drinks as rubs off very bad and makes a customer feel exploited not appreciated. At 8.50 a beer that maybe costs then 30 cents from keg and then trying to stick me with another 50 cents. Could care less about 50 cents is principle. read more

If you haven't been to The Folsom Tap House, you definitely should try it. I first went there 2 weeks ago to watch the Euro games and ordered appetizers. Food was on point. We went back the week later to play Bingo and again the food is excellent. We even had the Churro dessert bowl. So dreamy good! Yesterday evening we went for dinner and my husband had the Tap House Burger with Waffle Fries, we also ordered the Ahi Poke appetizer and I had a bowl of their Soup special. If you haven't tried the Ahi Poke dish, you definitely should try it. It comes with a good size portion for two to share. With wonton chips so delicately crispy and it awoke my taste pallet. DELICIOUS!! It was so darn good I ordered another to go after we were done with dinner. The atmosphere there is such a great vibe, and the staff instantly invites you in as their family. It's a very nice place to take your family and friends to for a good time and some awesome food. Thursday is usually Bingo nights which is always fun, they also have live bands, Trivia night and Karaoke nights. The food is now being prepared by the well known Chef Luis. Excellent menu he has prepared and SO worth it to go eat there. Food is prepared with love and totally satisfying. Everyone leaves there happy and feels like you are home there. If anything, at least go try this place. New Chef, new management and trained friendly staff. If you're from Folsom, you will run into your favorite people there who are regulars. Popped in for lunch, because we saw they had a patio for our pup. It's January and some patios are closed for obvious reason, but they welcomed us in. It was a cold, but sunny day. I got the French Dip. I knew being outside I'd need to jump on my au jus, before it got cold. It was lukewarm at best. So, I dipped into the marvelous horseradish sauce and I wasn't mad. It was SO SO good. When the waiter came I told him about my au jus and we was happy to bring a hot one. It was also good. Loved that it wasn't too salty. I got the side salad and it was done well with baby greens and a delicious vinaigrette. Hubs got the fish and chips. Light crust on a good sized piece of fish. Not as good as our favorite fish and chips place, but pretty darn good for a tap house. Fries done well, but the coleslaw was something of special note. It was season well to go with the fish and chips. Not a randomly made coleslaw stuck on the plate. All and all we enjoyed our lunch and when were back in the area we'll stop in. read more

My husband and I have been regulars for several years. So disappointed in this morning's brunch. I ordered something that came barely warm, not hot. I stuck my finger into it and the dish clearly had been sitting. No one wants to eat their breakfast barely hot. I mentioned it, they took the plate back. Instead of firing up a new plate, they barely warmed my plate. Which made it even more greasy and still not edible. I don't usually complain about a place I frequent often and considered a "Regular." If the cook can't be consistent on the menu items, don't cook it. I'm so annoyed with Luis and his lack of pride in what is leaving his kitchen. It's inexcusable that food is leaving his kitchen without any regard for the patrons he is serving. Sorry, but this is happening on a regular basis. Visited last night. Ordered wings, Reuben, French Dip, and Chicken Caesar Salad. Beer was great, food was really good. You can tell they go to a lot of trouble to make the dishes interesting with caramelized onions, a little spice, and mushrooms. Best part of the visit was Carli - our server. She was super helpful, prompt, and had great recommendations. She checked back frequently, refilled drinks, and made sure we enjoyed the food. Finally, when it was time to box up the leftovers, she brought a box but also the little plastic containers for the sauces so we could enjoy the sauces at home too. They charged me 50cents for using the credit card, but didn't have the decency to tell me before hand. I had also ordered chicken with rice, it was supposed to have Special Salvadoran spices it turns out it was bland chicken thrown on the stove, basically I paid $15.52 for a $7.00 plate at any Mexican restaurant. No tortillas, no beans. Just salty rice with a weird aftertaste and bland chicken. So disappointed. Live and learn.
