I had high hopes for Friends to improve. Loved it when it was Pete's! Been a few times but this will be my last. The food didn't seem fresh produce was kinda wilted, tomatoes kinda soggy, and the avocado was brown. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Over all ambiance was below the expectation. The dinning area was cluttered and not the cleanest.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The restaurant was not busy and service was slow and not great. Got the feeling we were an inconvenience eating there at lunch time. Typically I give the benefit of the doubt maybe staff isn't having the best day or short staffed but every aspect was failed .

Cold beer, wide range of beers ,IPA's, pilsner's, Ambers, hazy's. Friendly service, and dogs are welcome outside with water bowls . Great wings and pizza and delicious burgers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy little bar and has a front patio, side patio and a back covered patio[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Live music on Friday and Saturday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Tri tip salad with old dried Tri tip, dried radish and dried cucumber.

I've watched many people seat themselves at tables and leave 10 minutes later because no one asked them what they wanted. Yes, the decor is stuck in the 90's, but I actually like it. The double smash burger I had was excellent. The bun they use is awesome and they charred the patty perfectly. It tasted way better than Fleming's Prime Steakhouse burger I had last week, that's for sure. The thick steak-cut fries are awesome, too. Over salted but nothing a cold beer can't cut through. Highly recommend their smash burger.

If it wasn't for this "mission," there's a good chance I wouldn't have wandered in. I LOVE Sutter Street, but honestly I don't live nearby and don't have many reasons to come here. That said, I'm thankful for the mission and glad I dropped by. It's a super cute place and the bartender had a nice relaxed chill vibe to her. This is where I'd normally drop her name and give her kudos - but I didn't get her name. I thought her name would be on the receipt, but it wasn't! I assume her name isn't "Shift Night N" anyway, which would be weird - but that's what is listed for "server". Anyway... the burger... I liked it. I liked it a lot. I was not asked how I wanted it cooked (not expected or demanded by me) - but an observation that I toss in for comparison purposes. It was cooked to a solid medium, which is fine with me. Caramelized onions were standard - nice - but the tomato and lettuce were listed as 'optional' - and the bartender (Shift Night N) asked me if I wanted them. I opted in. The bun was above average - definitely a notch above the typical mass-produced buns often used elsewhere. I opted for sweet potato fries. They had good flavor. Personal preference-wise... I would have liked them to be cooked a smidge more. If/when I come back, I'll probably ask them to be crispy-er. Overall, thumbs up! I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try other things on the menu. #burgers

The place had a strong Vikings fan presence--plus one lone bartender proudly sporting a Seahawks jersey. I ordered the special grilled cheese with bacon and skinny fries, and it was fantastic. My husband had the pub burger with the oat bun and their amazing steak-cut fries. We also tried a cider and a Cali Squeeze--both great choices. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was delicious, and the service was warm and friendly. We'll definitely be back, especially because the fish and chips looked incredible. What a great way to welcome newbies to the neighborhood sports bar!

As the former Prime Minister, Winston Churchill (during WWII) of the United Kingdom would say,…read more"Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts." With that said, I am a sucker for a good British pub as I've always been a fan of the atmosphere that goes with it; lots of beer choices and of course, British food! This includes fish & chips, bangers & mash, Scotch eggs, Shepherd's pie, and much more. This takes me to the heart of Folsom where I had the chance to check out "Churchill Arms Pub". Located directly on East Bidwell St and in between Glenn Dr/Wales Dr in a very commercialized part of Folsom, this very popular pub has been in operation dating back to mid-2012. Prior to that, it was still a British pub but under a different name, Streets of London. And if you want me to go back even further, this is where a Denny's once stood for many years. During the times I have been here, parking has never been an issue as the primary businesses are a Dollar Tree and a McDonald's. Since it has been a few years, I figured why not give this place a try to relive some old memories. First of all, the interior is fairly dated but that adds to some of the rustic charm of the place. Don't expect shiny or upscale counters as this place has straight bar vibes. Here you will get that aroma of stale beer and a hint of some comfort food traveling through the vents. However, the bar area is quite spacious (with at least a dozen barstools). Additionally, they offer a lot of tables for actual dining as well as a billiards table, a dartboard, arcade machines, and a respectable amount of TV's for watching the games. The layout is quite typical of what you'd see at other sports bars/pubs/restaurants. As I previously mentioned, the menu is quite extensive as they carry a ton of British-inspired dishes. Additionally, they carry a nice variety of burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, soups, salads, appetizers, and kids meals. Beer selection is also quite extensive as is a huge assortment of spirts/hard liquor drinks. Since I had just eaten about an hour prior to arriving here, I was craving a refreshing cold beer. Therefore, I settled with their "Mango Wheat Ale" on tap which was a fairly reasonable $6.75 (as of mid-2026). My bartender was sweet and accommodating as was the vibe I got from the patrons that were enjoying their time there. I will say that my time here was well spent as I had thoroughly enjoyed my beer. However, the ambiance and atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Some of the negatives were several flies swarming throughout the inside of the building as well as it not being very sanitary. Some of the fixtures looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in years so I hope the back kitchen isn't as bad as the main area where customers sit. All in all, I would recommend coming here for the drinks but as for the cleanliness, the food might be a hit or miss. With that said and done, I am giving "Churchill Arms Pub" just an average three-star rating.

This was actually the first time I visited the entire downtown Roseville area, and I was pleasantly surprised there was a parking garage since all the parking spots in front of the establishment were occupied. We arrived around 1:30PM and observed a fair amount of patrons on a Monday. We were immediately greeted and seated. Loved the decor. After a few minutes mulling over what to get, I ended up getting the French Dip with duck fat fries. I also tried their Divinity Stout. Wow. The food - Amazing! Really enjoyed the French Dip - well sized portion and ended up having leftovers that I was able to enjoy a few hours later ha! The Stout (Divinity) - I need to go back and buy some bottles to go. So good! I'll definitely be back. The one minor gripe was I observed was there weren't any TV's at the bar (from what I can see anyway). I would have loved to head over here as I am writing this review to watch the NBA finals. All good!

For the French dip I will say it was bursting with flavor, the bun was nice and crispy and soft on the inside and the meat tasty. My only issue was it was way over salted. The Reuben was also tender, tasty and the sauce was very good but again the fries and meat felt over salted. They were packed so our server was few and far between but she was really kind and you could tell there was just a lot going on. Overall the feeling of space was on brand for a cellar with low lighting and dark ambiance that made it feel a bit more classy.

I was tasked with finding a location in the Rocklin area to host a memorial gathering. Since I…read moredon't live nearby, I turned to Yelp and started calling places close to the mortuary where our family would be gathering. Pain Killers was the third place on my list. My first call went unanswered, and there wasn't an answering service. On my second call, I was able to leave a voicemail. When I called Pain Killers, a kind woman answered within two rings. I explained that I was looking for a venue to host a memorial gathering. She let me know that the person who could best assist me wasn't available but offered to take my number and have them return my call. Within 30 minutes, Austin called me back. We discussed what we were looking for, and as you can imagine, it's not an easy conversation to have with someone you've never met. From the very beginning, Austin's kindness and compassion stood out. His exact words were, "We want to be here for you during this difficult time." Those weren't just words--I could genuinely feel his sincerity, not only during that phone call but in every text message we exchanged over the following week. Each time I reached out, I'd say, "Ok, Austin, last question," only to think of another one shortly afterward. No matter how many times I contacted him, he remained patient, understanding, and accommodating. He answered every question, responded promptly, and never once made me feel like I was asking too much. In the end, it was decided to keep the entire day's gathering at a church rather than the mortuary, so we didn't end up going to Pain Killers. Even so, I wanted to recognize Austin for the exceptional level of customer service and genuine compassion he showed during one of the most difficult times. The next time I'm in the Rocklin area, I plan to stop by, say hello to Austin, and make sure to give Pain Killers some well-deserved business. Thank you, Austin, for reminding me that kindness and empathy still go a long way.
