The Vine is fine. Good food, friendly-ish staff, and a nice enough place to grab a glass of wine. I go to a lot of wine bars between where I live up here and the Bay Area, and this one definitely leans hard into the suburban wine bar vibe. Think polished shopping center, girls' night out, and a whole lot of cougar juice being poured. You know exactly what kind of place you're walking into. I will give credit where credit is due though: they do have some local wines on the list, which I appreciate. We have some really good wineries right here in the foothills, and I'm always going to give points to a place that supports them. I'd actually love to see them lean into that even more. Food was good, service was friendly enough, wine list was okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing really made me want to rush back either. Three stars. Perfectly fine for what it is. read more

I came here with a girlfriend for a mom's night out. It wasn't very busy when we went so we were easily able to find a seat at the high table. We ordered some wine and some bites. The place is classy and comfy at the same time. The service was friendly and quick. The wine menu is vast and the food was better than expected! Great vibe, nice location, good amount of seating, options for couches as well as tables, outdoor seating as well. Had live music that was great on the night we were there. I always check yelp first for reviews on gluten free items (gluten allergy). Their flatbread had a gluten free crust option (+ $2) as did their pasta have gf option (+ $2) so nice selection. I had the chicken pesto flatbread without bacon. It was OK. Nice to have a gf crust, tho wasn't the *best* gf crust I've had. Nice/ ample wine selection. Daily happy hour from 3 - 6pm which was nice. Saw advertisements for bingo nights on Thursdays, which sounds fun and can win some wine related items. Staff was very nice as well. Came to hear the music, was nice to not feel rushed out or anything/ staff was very relaxed about us enjoying the table for a couple hours at the time while we had food and wine and the music. Would give slight caution that the caesar salad has bacon on it, which I have never seen before. I ordered the gf flatbread and there was an option to add a side caesar for $5. I did not read the salad area menu to know that bacon came on it. I don't eat pork and had asked for my flatbread to not have bacon and the salad to not have crutons if they put those on; wish the wait staff had mentioned the bacon on the salad bc I had already asked to have the flatbread without and also bc it's unusual imo to have it standard on a ceasar. read more

It looked like rain and then it drenched me as I barged into The Vine Restaurant and Tapa Bar in EDH looking like a soggy Little Red Riding Hood with a bad attitude and frozen hands. Then Jamie came to the rescue. She welcomed me like an old friend, sat me down with a steaming cup of coffee, and brought out the most incredible garlic shrimp this side of the Gulf--perfectly warm, perfectly garlicky, with just enough spice to remind you life is worth living. Within minutes of the cozy bar, I had thawed out, cheered up, and gone from storm victim to happy customer. I may have even hugged Jamie in gratitude. Needless to say, I'll be back soon--with a whole band of hungry friends in tow. The Vine doesn't just serve tapas... they rescue rainy days. read more

Cute little wine bar! Went with friends for a celebration, and enjoyed the quiet ambiance. Our party tried a couple wine flights and several apps. The empanadas were DELISH and by far the best thing we had-- we added a 2nd order immediately after gobbling down the first ones! The chicken enchilada dip and regular fries were tasty. Only thing I'd avoid is the garlic fries- SO SALTY and inedible. We even asked for a new order and they were just the same. read more

Our second visit to the Vine. It is a charming neighborhood venue. The first time we went was amazing. It was Bingo night and they had a Full House. 3 of us shared 5 dishes and had a few glasses of wine each. The food was delicious and the crowd was really fun. The female owner was calling Bingo that night. She was really sweet. We returned a couple weeks later for Trivia night and again the food was delicious. Service was not quite as fantastic as our first visit, but it was not neglectful. We didn't enjoy the "pace" of the Trivia game because it took far too long in between questions; probably 7 minutes or so. Other than starting 30 late and the lag time between questions we had an enjoyable evening and will return again and recommend to friends. read more

Went here today because I was in the area, lets just say the ambience and decor is so nice! I love the architecture inside and how everything was displayed/ dressed. It def gives me a little vibe like I'm in a nice vineyard! I ordered the skillet and we ordered fries and the avocado toast. 10/10 it was super delish and affordable. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for great wine and bites. This is a locally owned family business so please be mindful and come support them . Came here with my family (wife and 2 kids). Had our dinner and left a good tip (picture attached of my receipt). A couple days later we get a call, they left a voicemail calling us names and that we came in with 2 kids and we need to leave more than a 20% tip because we have kids. They used a derogatory name too that I won't write out. I have never experienced anything like this ever. I am assuming they had the wrong person because you can clearly see I left a $20 tip on an $80 bill. My kids were not misbehaving or making a mess. But even if they got the wrong person, the fact that they call customers afterwards to complain about a tip is mind blowing. I have a saved copy of the voicemail, tried to show the owner and they disregarded us. I won't be returning and I advise those with kids to stay away from this place. read more

I am very late on this review as our experience is from Valentines Day of 2024. That said, we won't be going back. Food was so-so and appeared to be prepared with a microwave and a toaster oven. Wine selection is great, but grossly over priced. Service was also just ok, although it was only marginally busy. The interior is simple, but not very upscale, especially given the extraordinarily high prices. I wish we had gone elsewhere, but glad we checked it off our list. For perspective, the total cost of the meal for two including tip was close to $400.00. The cost was split evenly between food and wine. read more

Came for the Tuesday special $8 tacos with homemade tortilla chips. Sadly, their fryer wasn't working so we couldn't try the fish tacos, fish and chips, or fries. We ended up ordering the chicken bacon tacos (delicious), the shrimp tacos (yum), chicken apple walnut salad (tasty), pesto chicken flatbread (bland but good crust) and artichoke stuffed mushrooms (meh). The tacos were so delicious, we wished we'd just ordered more. We tried a white flight and other whites not included in the flight(s). All of the wines were excellent. Service was friendly, although the kitchen was slow. There was a planned event that day, and the fryer had been out a few days before, so I'm surprised they weren't better prepared. The place itself was comfortable, easy to find, with plenty of parking. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience and plan to come back to try the fish tacos. read more

This was a very cool place. It reminds me a bit of Citizen Vine in Folsom. Great wine selection as expected with a place called Vine, also nice flights. Really top notch on the appetizers however. Mexican pilote corn with tortilla chip and a cheese beignet, quite the surprise. Also just made it in time for happy hour, some great deals. My husband and I have been to The Vine in EDH on several occasions and the food has always been excellent. My least favorite was the Valentines Day dinner, which we will not do again but otherwise the food has been great. I will say that for a wine bar, the wine list is not great compared to other restaurants in EDH, and the servers don't behave like they understand what to do when they serve a bottle of wine. The reason for my 2 star review is really about customer service. We typically go over the weekend, Thursday -Saturday and not once that we have been there have they had the appropriate amount of staff, so service is very slow. The staff are all lovely and personable, but there has not been enough of them and they take extra time with each group, which is great except that given that they are understaffed makes the service even slower. I am rarely asked if I need anything, and have to flag someone down or go up to the bar to get someone's attention, this does not make for a pleasant experience. What compelled me to write the review was a negative experience with the wine club. We love wine and are a member of several wine clubs. The wine club at The Vine promises discounts on the bill as well as 3 bottles of wine quarterly which you are invited to tastings to choose. What is not on their advertisement or website is that you are charged the equivalent of one quarters charge when you join. You do not receive wine when you join, you just have to pay $79, or the amount for the level you joined. That means there is a fee to join the wine club and they are not up front about it. This is very disappointing and I feel ridiculous. I shouldn't have to pay a fee to join a wine club. I am happy to take my first shipment at the time I join, but I expect to be paying for bottles of wine. It is a shame because the food is so great but given that this is a wine bar not a restaurant, it's just not worth it for us to go back. read more

I recently hosted my baby shower at this location on 6/24. Everything about hosting an event with The Vine was super easy and amazing. Lisa was quick to respond through email when organizing this event. On the day of my shower, the staff members were super helpful, good natured and a pleasure to host with. They offered to help my mom and I set up and even took amazing photos of the event. The location was perfect, set in an Italian Villa inspired plaza that had a good amount of parking, and seemed to not have too many busy businesses which made the event feel super exclusive. Inside the ambiance was super chill with plenty of seating, an open area easy to move around and I can't even explain how delicious the appetizers and food was. I'm so thankful to everyone for helping me create a memorable event for my first born's baby shower and offering such a perfect location. I can't wait to come back to try the wine once my little one arrives! read more

I'm hoping our experience last night is not a sign. We had a great experience when we were here in February but last night was a bit of a disaster. There were three of us. Two ordered hot dinners and one ordered a salad. The two hot meals came staggered and they came before the salad. Being polite, we were waiting for the third person to get her salad before starting. Close to 10 minutes passed when we asked why two hot meals came out before a salad... and we were still waiting for it. She apologized and said she would get it so the two of us with hot meals began eating. We were nearly finished before she came back and told us that It would be another 15 to 20 minutes for the salad because they had to go to the store! My friend changed her order to the French dip and fries... which arrived without the fries. She had to ask for those. They did comp her meal but this was like a three-ring circus. We were there from 5:30 to 8:15. We were not in a rush but this meal no way should have taken nearly 3 hours. Also, it was a Friday night and the place was half empty. They also advertised the musician from 6:00 to 8:00 but he played 5:30 to 7:30. Not sure why the time change. This was an extremely different experience than we had in February and having lived in the area for 20+ years I know that this location has been many different establishments.
