On an out of state trip and pizza sounded good. Just picked one out of a list that looked like it got pretty good reviews. We were seated right away but there was no line. Drinks brought out quickly and also ordering was fast. We did have to wait a bit longer for the pizza to come out but it was really good. My husband likes softer crust but I loved this thinner crust with a crunch to the edge. I would definitely go back to try some other variations. read more

I should have taken a photo of our medium Roman ( pepperoni and sausage) pizza. It has been an age since I got Pizza anywhere and it Was prepared with an adequate amount of pepperoni and attractively arranged. On this very busy Friday night in August, the packed restaurant had barely a seat available. There are a couple of televisions, thankfully with no sound on. There is also no piped in music- just the sound of people dining and mostly taking to Each other. ( except those who are writing yelp reviews) Our blonde, efficient server was great! I reviewed this place two weeks ago and for some reason was not posted, maybe because I stated it was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had, that's pretty bad since I typically love pizza and haven't had many bad ones, this was bad. Horrible meat type sauce that was mushy in the mouth and made the bottom crust inedible. I ordered on line and it was ready in time, this was the one high spots. When paying it was about $15 more than what the on line menu stated, cashier just said "yea, that's wrong on line". What a joke. Horrible over priced pizza --beware. Whoever gave this place 4 stars must like truck stop food. You dont go for ambiance or mediocre service, you go for pizza. And the pizza is great...if you also like licking a salt lick. My family and I went on a Sunday night and at first it was fairly dead. However in about 20 minutes the restaurant filled up to a wait list. No complaints and this generally a good sign, however, they only had 2 waiters in staff we got all of our food at once. Our waitress was very apologetic. We ordered a Greek salad, the American pizza and wings. The Greek salad was great, the pizza was good but a little on greasy side (pools of grease) and wings were decent. I have become addicted to Fontas after living here a year. I have always preferred to make my own pizza because everyone always fell short. It has been literally a decade since I actually LIKED restaurant pizza. The ingredients are fresh and top of the line. I always have a positive service experience here. The specials every day are great values. Today I took advantage of the Thursday special - BOGO HALF OFF. All you hear at my table is "mmmmmmm". Short version - Gordon Ramsey needs to get his hands on this place! Fonta's does have good pizza, but if you go, stick with that and stay away from the Greek side of the menu. I love spanikopita and ordered that. It was obviously frozen at LEAST once and re-heated til barely warm in the microwave. I know that because I got it less than 5 minutes after I ordered. The crust was soggy and strangely tough and the filling was only ok. Then they charged an extra dollar for a couple tablespoons of tzaziki sauce. I will NEVER get spanikopita there again, especially not for $8. I also ordered pizza rolls, 4 for $6, which is a good deal. These were much better, even though they took awhile to get out. They were topped with a ton of oregano and parmesan, which I brushed off, but the dough was good (slightly yeasty), gooey cheese and full of pepperoni. The sauce they come with...well...that was terrible. It took me forever to figure out what was wrong with it, other than being too sweet. Finally it hit me that it tastes just like the sauce in Chef Boyardee ravioli cans. There's NO reason for a pizza joint to have bad sauce, but it must be a combination of their tomato brand and having sat cooking too long. I would smuggle in my own, next time (or just order to go). The restaurant itself is one big room with a bunch of outdated seating and decor. It can get loud if it's a busy time. The wait staff is pleasant, if not very fast. I had to ask for drink refills repeatedly and about the timing of my food. I wasn't checked on after it was delivered, either. My waitress only had 5 tables with 2-3 people at them. Next time: Stay on the pizza side of the menu, get the cheesesticks, which are AMAZING, and order to-go. read more

We used Yelp! to track down good eats in Greeley and Fonta was on the list...and they did not disappoint! Before I get to the food, the service was exceptional! Those who greeted us as we entered were genuine and friendly. Our server was energetic, friendly, focused and thorough. The food was exceptional! We had a larger party and ordered their homemade mozzarella sticks, some pizza rolls, calzones, spaghetti and meatballs, a few pizzas and some of the kiddos had burgers and fries. Everyone was beyond pleased with the meals they ordered and talked about it that evening and again the next morning. BTW, leftover pizza rolls heat up nicely and taste just as good the next day. We don't visit Greeley much, but have said we may now do so just to go back to Fonta's! read more

Pulling into the packed parking lot for a Saturday night dinner, we thought we might have to wait to be seated. Not the case; plenty of tables to accommodate large diners.. we were seated in minutes. Our plain 16" cheese pizza was delicious. Plenty of toppings available; can also order specialty pizzas from the menu. Service was excellent; our drinks were filled promptly by our waitress. Well, my first stop in Greeley, Colorado for food was Fonta's. My bf's family lives in Greeley & boasted that this pizza is fantastic: they were oh so right! Fonta's is a small cozy restaurant with an old time pizzeria feel. On this particular Thursday evening, the restaurant was packed with children celebrating a sports victory. They were extremely loud & running all over the restaurant, but even that didn't phase us, as we were with family & the food was so great. Fonta's menu was much more than just pizza: fried zucchini, spanakopitas, wings, burgers, sandwiches, & chicken fingers. The pizza menu was extensive with a variety of specialties. We had the spanakopitas, fried zucchini (amazing!!), the house specialty pizza: beef, ham, sausage, green peppers, onions, & black & green olives & another pizza with pepperoni, sausage, & Canadian bacon. The pizza crust is thin, but a full thin: NY style. & Fonta's doesn't skimp on the toppings: each piece was slathered with every ingredient. & the sauce was wonderful with large tomatoes & a great flavor. The beer selection was smaller than I am used to, but for a small restaurant, pretty good with bud products, & sunshine. This was a good find for an easy night out. We had the Greek pizza, and a gyro. I didn't get any beer, but there appeared to be decent specials on a limited selection. There seems to be an overwhelming trend for smaller pizza joints in northern colorado...thin cracker-like crust for pizza. There was an option to get thick crust, but we opted to have the original to test it out. I'm not a fan of this type of crust, but it was ok. The sauce was decent and the cheese was nice an salty. The gyro was average, but still good. The tzatziki sauce tasted like 90% cucumber, but this is just because I prefer a more garlic and Mediterranean spiced tzatziki. The huge disappointment was the bathroom. I will go back to this place, but I refuse to use the bathroom again. $1500 would go a long way for this place to update their restrooms. My wife said there was a curtain to slide for privacy in the women's room, which would be difficult to wash regularly...so I'm assuming they don't. We really enjoyed this restaurant. The staff was friendly, the food was good, but we will make sure to stop at 7-11 to use their slightly cleaner bathrooms before we eat here again. read more

I went here for the first time for lunch and liked it a lot. Family owned and busy (meaning it's good) but there was not a long wait or slow service.
