Not What We Expected! After reading all the rave reviews, we were excited to try Fuego Pizza. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. The dine-in experience feels more like takeout--paper plates and plastic silverware even when eating in. The Greek salad came pre-made in a to-go container with canned olives and barely enough dressing. The garlic knots were huge but surprisingly flavorless. As for the main event, the NY Style Fuego Roni was just okay--nothing memorable. The Ricotta cheese also tasted a bit too smooth and whipped with an off-putting flavor. We're pretty serious pizza lovers and only managed two slices each, which is rare for us. The real tell? On the way home, my husband said, "Maybe we should've just gone to Chick-fil-A." Very good slice! I am very critical of pizza and it takes a lot to impress me. Fuego did the trick. It isn't the best slice I've had but it's in the top few in the area. Good crust with a nice crust and minimal flop. Sauce is tangy and flavorful. Cheese is nicely balanced. Big dining area. I only got slices at lunch and not a full pie so can't comment on that or service speed but they were friendly. I'd like to come back and try a full pie and the Detroit style. Ummmm- This might be the best pizza on the front range. The owners are very invested and care about all the details and it shows. They've been open for three months and already word has spread about their garlic knots. These aren't some little nuggets either! These are fist-sized and served in this garlic butter deliciousness. Also, both their Chicago style and New York style are equally perfect. I've never had the Chicago-style that was done this well! It was NOT overly heavy and the edges were so crispy We had the Fuego Roni, as well as a classic 1/2 cheese & 1/2 pepperoni. Fed my three teen boys with some to spare! I desperately wanted to love this place! I've been looking for a good Detroit-style pizza in Fort Collins and have not been able to find one. Gave it a try, and sadly can't say that it was better than "ok". The restaurant looks nice, the service was great and the pizza looked absolutely amazing. The small pizza was a good size (a meal for 3-4) with healthy portions of cheese, sauce a pepperoni all piled on top of the crust. What I didn't like, is that it appears that the crust is cooked and then the toppings are piled on at the end which lead to a very soft bread-like crust (I prefer the chewiness of most Detroit-style pizzas). I am confident some will like this pizza and I plan to order again when my kids come home from college to get their thoughts, but this pizza lacks the chewy caramelization of most Detroit-style crusts. read more

They were really good and DID have cinnamon oil in them which is hard to find this far from the east coast. I was excited to try this place so we brought some friends yesterday for their birthday. We didn't have any idea what to expect because there were no pictures on the menu or much detail. Order at the counter and seat yourself. We weren't sure what Detroit style pizza was (they also have Neo/NY style) but I ordered it. It's a 16" and extremely thick, awesome crust. We all raved about it. Friends ordered a NY style too and really liked it. I told a few neighbors (we live in the neighborhood) and no one knew about this place yet! But when we got to the door, there was a handwritten sign that said "sold out"--even though the "open" sign was still lit. The pizza here is really delicious! They do not spare any toppings which is very nice. I especially like the New York style thin crust crispy not overdone. They could use more variety on their salads very limited on that. I only tried the plain cheese slice but it's shockingly similar to Sbarro/mall pizza. And there's nothing wrong with that per se.... but when you advertise "NY style" at almost $6 a slice, this isn't gonna work for me brother. It's a little too sweet and a little too mushy BUT the crust is actually delicious. If you're craving that fast food style, this is a better choice than domino's but you're going to pay triple the amount for a marginal improvement.
