I did end up getting one (1) of their sours, and it was alright, but nothing special. In addition, I went on a weekday night, so it's not really fair to compare it to a weekend night type of vibe, but nevertheless, the vibe was kind of lame, and I didn't love the ambiance. I will say that the bartender was very nice, and I could see how HopFly might be a fun place to go on the weekends. Overall, HopFly wasn't terrible, but considering all the other bars and breweries in the area, it might be a while before I come back.

One of the best atmosphere's in the country. Dozens of old leather couches and litter the concrete floor sitting on rugs. It is undeniably cozy! I just sit and chill out. Especially when they have live music going which is several times a week. The beer is good but I return for the atmosphere. Service: 5 - Ordered at the bar. Beer delivery is quick. Knowledgeable staff! Food: truck is here on weekends which is when I stop by. Cultural/Political Agenda (1-5): 5 -Everyone is welcome. No preachy nonsense or virtue signaling, just beer, as it should be.

The grilled cheese would have been so good if there was sauce to dip into. Otherwise the food was really good.

We ordered cocktails and embraced the tapas menu, ordering too many things to sample and share. We sadly had to leave some of it behind. Our waitress was a sweetheart and though the restaurant space was big and open, the warm wood and exposed brick inside made it feel welcoming and cozy. There was enough room between tables that we didn't feel crammed in and the table was big enough to hold all the delicious goodness. I felt like two top tables can sometimes barely hold your water glass and bread plate. We head to Charlotte pretty regularly for various things, and I would like to bring our teenage boys back sometime. I think they would really like the menu and style of the restaurant. Nice enough for a quick date night before and event, but casual enough that I feel like we could bring the teens and not have to "dress up".

There's a full bar for the non beer drinkers . OMB features a huge selection of food items including German classics like pork schnitzel, wursts and the Bavarian or classic Jumbo pretzels. I'd recommend the sampler plate with the Jalapeño Cheddar Bratwurst as one choice ( you get three) and Jumbo Pretzel with Cooper Bier cheese & Düsseldorf mustard. The sides, such as their German potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut are very good. In addition theres a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads to choose from. The outside venue is amazing with ample outside seating featuring a fire pit, corn hole ( collect bags at the bar), children's playground and a water station for pets. She explains the menu and recommends a beer. I keep it simple...the QCBC Burger with provolone and fries. She recommends the Kolsch. I'm in!! Long story short...perfection!!! The burger is cooked exact to spec. The fries are crispy, seasoned and delicious, and the beer is a pitch-perfect match. Faith restored!!! I was skeptical going in.
