Updating my decade-old review: Foo Luck has had mixed quality in the past year, despite being so consistently great in the beforetimes. Not sure what happened after Covid but some quality tightening would go a long way! Their standard chicken & broccoli is still the best in the area for the taste and portion, and their hot and sour soup is unrivaled, particularly the broth. But sometimes the chicken has come in a weirdly colored sauce or a tougher consistency. Their sushi station has declined in the past several years--they weren't able to reliably fill sushi orders for a while--and recovered. It's still my favorite Chinese food in the area but I'm hopeful that some quality control fixes would make it even better.

This is the two different roaches that were in our wonton soup

Please be very careful when ordering from this restaurant me and my family ordered a huge order tonight and we found two roaches in the soup. The other night they had forgotten our ribs and refused to give us a refund or offer us the forgotten food. But after tonight, we will never eat Chinese food again and we will be alerting the health department first thing in the morning.

Best Chinese in Commack. I recommend the pork fried rice, egg rolls, boneless spare rib tips, chicken and broccoli, and steamed dumplings.

This is one of my favorite spots on Long Island! The food is consistently amazing. Some of my…read moremust-order dishes are the Walnut Shrimp, Tofu Dry Pot, Dan Dan Noodles, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, and of course the Chili Oil Wontons. If you're visiting for the first time, those are the dishes to try. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and service is always quick and efficient. The only downside is that they don't serve hard liquor, but they do offer beer, sake, and tea. Their homemade chili oil is absolutely on point and adds the perfect kick to just about everything. What keeps us coming back isn't just the food it's also the outstanding service. Our waitress, "Cherry", has become one of the reasons we love dining here. "Cherry" always goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and taken care of. Another huge plus is the ample parking, so there's never any stress about finding a spot. Great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere make this a place we'll continue to visit again and again.

While the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, the food was really not worth it. I ordered…read morePork and mixed vegetables- they gave me beef. Not thoroughly cooked either. No flavor at all, I had to add too much soy sauce - not great. There were no chinese veggies, no bokchoy, no watercrests, no mushrooms. It was broccoli, carrots, celery, and baby corn (2 pieces!) First of all $17 for a dinner dish that doesn't come with fried rice or soup or eggroll? Sorry I never really put negative reviews but I feel like the hype of this place out weighs its value.

It took a long time before I tried this restaurant. The menu is limited but very unique---why would…read morea Chinese restaurant serve French Fries or a fried chicken sandwich? Once I let that go and ordered one and experienced all its gloriousness, I was hooked! This is a chicken sandwich with an Asian spin. Chicken is moist and flavorful, as if it had been marinated before placing the delectable fried coating on. The homemade sauce served with it takes it over the top. And those pickles? They are one of a kind. You NEED to try this sandwich! If you are looking for traditional Chinese American takeout, this is not it. The cuisine at Mama Chan's is many steps above (not that I dont enjoy traditional takeout, i do!) The food at Mama Chan's is like being at a friend's family feast where their mom is a fabulous cook! The Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup is like a warm hug on a chilly day, soooo tasty and satisfying. On a day when I was not feeling so well, this did the trick! Can I tell you that I dream about this soup?! It's THAT good. We also tried the Sesame Chicken (which is served as tenders---big juicy pieces!) with a great rice on the side, and the Steamed Pork Dumplings, which were exquisite. The dumplings are made by hand and are a little on the pricey side, but they are of good quality and you are definitely getting what you pay for. The dipping sauce that comes with them was great. Rounding out the dishes we have tried over a few visits are the Fried rice and Garlic Udon, both were very tasty amd enjoyable. On my next visit I want to try the Braised Pork Belly Bowl and the Sautéed Sting Beans. Although all my orders were takeout, I would like to comment that service was exceptional. The owner, Diana, greets you with a smile and is very personable. Food is prepared as promised, on time, and with care. They even provide utensils. And this is just one of the many reasons I am a returning customer. Did I forget to mention the Beef Noodle Soup?! You need this soup! Go try Mama Chan's!!! :)
