Food Bazaar Supermarkets wasn't our priority to do groceries shopping before COVID-19 but we visited a couple of times recently since their price has been stable and the supply was enough. One of the best things was there's no line to enter from our experience. The safety procedure of sanitizing and social distancing especially during checking out was great, so we shopped without any concern. The staff was friendly and willing to help. The product lineup was well organized and clean. There was no empty shelf and we could find the majority of items on our list. The meat and seafood looked fresh and in good quality, but we didn't have a chance to try them yet. read more

There are several Food Bazaar Supermarkets in the (Elmhurst, Corona, Lefrak) area, two within (about) four minutes walking distance of each other. Business must be great! All carry the same foods and seasonal items. The produce section has many Caribbean/Hispanic foods along with many other "exotic" provision. If you're familiar with Associates Supermarket, something tells me you'd like here. Was it just a name change? I can't remember. There's a deli with delicious ready made meals daily and coffee, can't forget the 99¢ coffee! Butcher/fish and bakery sections. All neat and clean. Staff is pleasant. Get their phone app and gain points when you shop. They are my go to supermarket when I'm in the area. I love Aldi and I heart FBS too. Thanks man! The End. read more

The meats are limited. The fish market area is limited. Very narrow aisles. However, I always fins everything I need. It's just not the cleanest and most organized supermarket in the area. The biggest problem I have is in the area where they have the hot buffet. The food is decent and inexpensive. But the Dominican lady who runs it consustently has a bad attitude and comes off rude every single time I go there. That's not how you treat customers that are buying your mediocre $2 empanadas. This business is listed under UBER EATS Groceries Service. I placed an order, and NOT my first order either, the Uber Eats delivery person collected all of my items and went ahead to check out. Every time a food item is marked as found or unavailable I receive a notification. Updates are given their entire time during the shopping service. So finally upon checkout I am observing the checkout process on the APP and after 30mins or so it gets canceled by the merchant. I waited 4 hours to finally not receive my groceries. Not one phone call apology or explanation. I call the following day and the woman whom answered the phone denies all affiliation with UBER EATS APP. I say to her, that is untrue as I placed orders here before and you canceled on me after the fact with no understanding as to why. She was pretending that wasn't her business and that entire ordeal has nothing to do with their end. She blamed UBEREATS when I can see on the APP it said "merchant canceled." I also made sure to get in touch with Uber first before and they confirmed what I already clearly read. This lady was RUDE RUDE RUDE, gaslight the whole situation, didn't treat me with any respect on phone. Pretending she had zero clue what I was talking about and denied that they even work with Uber Eats as a service. In the end she barked a few words before hanging up the phone on me. I guess that is how you treat customers who spend hundreds of dollars a month at your business. Bravo! You lost a great customer. read more

I went here for lunch today to grab a sandwich from the deli and the older guy with the hat making the sandwiches was a real jerk. After waiting in line with a co-worker to order my sandwich next, he yells "you gotta wait in line I'm going to lunch"........... They have containers of fat that you can pick at, free! This is such a demure little market in such an unappreciated part of Queens, so easy to overlook. Surrounded by numerous apartment complexes over 16 stories high, spanning over 6 apartments wide (Lefrak City), that which is a good thing. You see, a diverse community demands a diverse supermarket. And, this place delivers! Their produce section is diverse and stocked; the same goes for their meat section. I come here for a rare cut of meat. Others have harked on about rude cashiers. This is now a Food Bazaar. It's really your run of the mill large, reasonably clean supermarket. But they upgraded the deli!!! The heros are delicious [unexpectedly so] So for 5.99 you get your big sammich and a can of soda. This place is great! They have everything!!! E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!! The produce section is huge, the bakery is great and they have aisles dedicated to different cuisines: Ecuadorian, Argentinian, Korean, Indian, Thai, Dominican, etc. I'll say it again, Everything. I don't usually visit the butcher/poultry section but the two times I have bought steaks and chicken from there they were just fine and they have so many different options. My favorite buy is the Mango Nectar juice. They keep moving it around the store making it harder and harder to find. Free parking too! read more

Most of the store is a jumbled mess with a crazy layout but their sandwiches and deli are amazing. And everything is so cheap. $5.50 for a sandwich on a roll or bagel. And they don't skimp on meat! Prepared fruit salads are also fresh, cheap and plentiful. read more

This is one of the WORST Food Bazaar's I have ever been too. I used to think it was a decent chain until we moved close to this one. The is one about 2 blocks away this is FINE. But this one is completely awful. The cashiers are just so exceptionally rude no matter if you tip them or what you say to them. Now that there is a self check line, a lot of those women are helpful, but I've been going here for almost a year and was just told today how to get the in-store discounts finally. It's so fucked up that not a single person ever tried to help me in the past. I kept putting in my phone number on the key pad thinking that was doing something and then finally had a woman tell me to scan the QR code today. FINALLY. I asked her a couple of questions. She was so rude and pushing me out and didn't let me finish scanning it AFTER I had tipped her. BTW guys tipping IS NOT A U.S. THING. So if someone tips you, they are being kind. A woman behind me was pushing me forward when my card scan didn't work, the cashier didn't help or ask the woman to step back. RUDE RUDE RUDE. AND- I hadn't bothered to write it up in the past, but their produce is always HORRIBLE. I get things that are wrapped so the mold is hidden until I get home and unwrap it. The workers are totally clueless about what is in their store- I've had a woman who didn't know what horseradish was- to a man working in the meat department who couldn't tell me or be bothered to ask a co-worker why they discontinued a certain hot dog. This is a terrible place to buy groceries. I sometimes use the guys on the corner to pick up produce just to avoid this horror show. This place is horrible. During this whole pandemic of the Coronavirus and people are desperate to get groceries they have a paper on the store that said 8:30 last week. This week they changed it to 8pm. I went to the grocery today at 7pm with about 5 people lined up ahead of us and the little Chinese manager came and locked the door didn't tell us anything and then through the window told us it's closed. How the hell is it closed at 7pm when the paper says 8pm and you have the audacity the close the door without telling everyone waiting outside in the cold. The only good thing is one of the big security with dreads is very nice. That's all. Terrible people. read more

This is a supermarket that makes you feel at home , the workers are very nice as well as friendly there is no doubt their is really good costumer service. Anyting you need help with and what you will find. There is a large organic section and the variety is not that bad, they always have fresh fish meat and vegetables, prices are low and they have a lot of good sales, deli sandwiches and salads are amazing!! I think this is one of the worst supermarket on the planet it's poorly manage and now I see why it's always changing it's name daily. If you want spoiled fruits and veggies this is your place. The cashiers are rude they never say thank you or look you in your face they simply act like they are doing you a favor. A recent incident has me boycotting this store I went to a cashier (Hispanic) and she promptly told me she was closed so i made no big deal out of it and like 5 seconds later another customer walk over to her and he was also Hispanic she was open for him. Is my time not worth as much as his? I think this all has to deal with this so called "mi gente" thing that Hispanic people live by. Well i promptly called the manager and told her what transpired and that I would boycott her store so she apologize but that's not enough to get me back there. This is my favorite supermarket. It's not the cleanest, but for food "from your country," it is the best. I think the cashiers are very friendly, but maybe if you speak Spanish. They are shy because they don't speak English. We went at 2 am once and the cashier told us she works until 6 am, goes home to prepare breakfast for her family, brings her children to school, and then sleeps until it is time to pick them up. I work in the city office's right next door, so I stop in here for lunch more often than not. The deli is great, hot and cold sandwichs on a roll ($4.50) or hero ($6 w/ can of soda. Quality cold cuts. The soups are pretty solid. The half rotisserie chicken (with or without rice) is very good. They have a bunch of different pasta / chicken / tuna salads at the deli in indvidual serving sized containers. It's clean and very spacious. I wish there was a place like this by my apartment - all my grocery stores are very cramped. read more

So, I owe a serious update to this. I always avoid this place because of their poor quality of food. (After I stocked up on Spam, canned anchovies, and Ovaltine, I haven't really had a need to come back.) However, last night I was out of some other essentials so I stopped here. I was so pleasantly surprised at how much they've upped their game! There was a ton of organic/health food now: containers of mache (I haven't seen that since France), freshly-squeezed juice sitting on ice (beet and carrot and ginger, oh my!), scores of healthy nuts and seeds, and a great selection of organic milk, eggs, and yogurt. It still needs some improvement -- but it is slowly getting up to par with what a good grocery store should have. I'm not going to avoid it any longer! I bought a ton of stuff for forty bucks. This is for the Food Bazaar in Lefrak on 57th Avenue: The deli staff refuses to serve Americans who speak English. They actually stall their work and start blabbering in Spanish until they hope you go away. They have refused to serve my wife several times, as . well as mouthed off to her - presumably because she orders enough food for a week for our family to eat 3 meals a day, and not just $1 worth of turkey, and they resent anyone who might have more education and a better life than them. And they let you know it, too. After several incidents, I went to the manager myself and asked why he felt it was ok that his workers can refuse to serve Americans. He said he would have a talk with them about it. But, considering that the manager himself lacks any English skill, I can see he probably allows his store to be operated this way. The inmates run the asylum here, and not very well. The Food Bazaar on Junction Blvd is not staffed by racist illegals, and sells food that actually keeps for more than a day after purchase. read more

Cheap groceries, low grade meat, and just about low grade everything else. What I do like about Food Bazaar, they sell containers of ginger hard candy that's made in Taiwan. It's surprisingly good and of course cheap! It's the only thing I come here for. In terms of cheap groceries, I'd still prefer Western Beef. I am a customer from the food bazaar in Jersey City NJ and I have found that I live 5 minutes away from one in West New York, since I recently went to give it a try. I go in at 10:15 PM on Thursday of July 18th and i go for 5 minutes. I check for a snack or something to drink (kombucha) and I then hear the store is closed. In Spanish for which I speak. I then go to the register and I ask the cashier for kombucha and they say it's in the back. I then go to see it and a Korean man tells me it's back. I check the price and it's 3.99 and I thought it was quite expensive so I go to exit. They ask me if I found it I say no because it's very expensive I can get 2 for 5 at ShopRite. The security guard then asks me to check my bag for which I comply. I then tell him. I'm a customer at the Jersey City store and they never checked my bags.I never took my book bag off my back not did I go into it!! I said I'm offended and asked for the supervisors number. He says I'm offended that your offended. You didn't buy anything so I have every right to check your bag by law. It was only 10:22 PM when they told me the "story" that the store was closed!! I believe it was racial profiling. That if I spoke Spanish from the beginning or was a different race it wouldn't have ever happened. I corporate owes me an apology as Google reviews are longstanding. Don't go here if you aren't light skinned, aren't happy with the overpriced goods or don't speak Spanish. I thought living 5 minutes away I had found a gold mine but all I found were non chalant cashiers and also a rude and insinuating security guard while there are 2 cameras at the back of each end . read more
