I love this fruit stand. Its open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Prices are definitely not bad and more times than not if you come here for one thing, you are leaving with a few others. They have a lot of stuff and when something is in season its plentiful, fresh, and cheap! The owners are awesome and they keep the store well stocked and clean. My experiences with Joy Fruit have been 1,000 times better than the place across the street! For a start, Joy Fruit has a price sticker on every single item in the store - unlike the store across the road where there are NO prices, and everything is lined up behind the wrong item/price, so that you have to watch them like a hawk at the register. I have also had NO problems with using my debit card at Joy Fruit; they seem honest and friendly. Some of the pricing is a bit on the high side, and I'd like to see a bit more variety with some items, but it's a small store so they do their best. I do not usually review little stores like this because unlike Elites I do not have a certain amount of reviews I am required to do. I just do it for fun and as an on line diary of sorts. The store was so nice that I decided to review it! Anyway we were in the neighborhood visiting a friend who moved to London but was back in the area visiting. We went to get flowers. From the outside it looks like a typical Asian grocer. But I disagree with another reviewer it was not typical at all which is why I am reviewing it! But it seems to be a step above the others. They had fresh herbs and Kirby's from Israel , a lot of health food store products as well as Asian teas , and all kinds of things that you normally do not see at these grocers. It was a combination of Israeli and Asian products so fitting for the area! The prices were better than what I have seen at other stores and the store was cleaner. And they have a friendly cat to greet you upon arrival. The cat won't bother you unless you address him or her. I didn't know until reading the reviews here that it was 24/7.Something to keep in mind when in the area again. Joy Fruit is your typical NYC fruit stand but the big plus here is it's open 24/7. This is an anomaly in Queens. Good selection of aloe juice and chocolate munchies. I hope the rumors are true and there is soon to be a meat counter. Without it good luck scrounging up something to make a full meal out of at Joy. Insider Tip: The sign says "No Dogs Allowed" but I always waltz in with Napoleon. Just beware there is a cat who lounges here sometimes. I've been going here all my life. This is the place I get all my fruits and veg! Great mom and pop owners, staff is always friendly when approached. Low, sometimes unbeatable prices for fruits and veg. Prices are a bit high for general ingredients you can get across the street at a lower price, but open 24/7! So if you need that special something at 9pm - 8am, you'll usually find it here. Also handy for boozers and smokers, get your beer/cig fix 24/7. As I know the owners Jenny&David are Asian, Koreans particularly, I'm surprised that they don't stock more Asian products. They lack some rare ingredients that I sometimes look for and expect them to carry. Not a big problem, but that's why you lose a star Joy Fruit :) Credit cards accepted if you spend over $11+ I believe, though they'll bend a little bit if you're close and annoying enough ;D As another reviewer described, there is a kitty cat that roams the store. I have to agree with the previous reviewer - we have a 24 hour Korean deli in Kew Gardens, and it is a *big* deal. Want Ben and Jerry's at 4 AM? No problem here. (Granted, 7-11 is on Lefferts Boulevard and is also 24 hours, but it is a schlep.) We now have our own little yuppie mart, thanks to Joy Fruit. These guys recently expanded, and we (or least I) am grateful. They make a point of beating the Associated across the street for staples like eggs, too. Most of their other prices aren't out of line, either, especially for a 24 hour joint. Joy Fruit is here and it is awesome. It is Brooklyn in Queens :) read more

Probably 80% of what I eat at home comes from Joy Fruit. They have a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables 24/7. The selection is the best in the area and they always beat everywhere else in price and quality. Since the expansion I have been going there more for all my staples- bread, milk, juice, eggs, vegetables etc. Also, they have some asian ingredients that are hard to find without going to Elmhurt or Flushing, such as: kimchi, ginger, cilantro, water cress, noodles, seasoned seaweed, tofu, and more. Thank you Korean owners! Even if I did get home earlier from work, I would still choose Joy Fruit over any other place in the area. Their fruit alone is the best value, selection, and freshness. This is a great little 24-hour market near me. I pop in daily for this and that but primarily for the reduced price fruits and vegetables they have outside. You know, slightly bruised stuff. They have great deals like 3 big peppers (red, green, yellow) for $1.00 or 4 slightly bruised pears for $1.00. I always find something worthy to bring home and make dinner with. read more

They do have good fruit, no doubt. Prices are competitive as well. Always better deal then the supermarkets there. And no, I do not mind the cat, Be careful at the register however, it is like a gamble. Know the price per pound of your merchandise and estimate the weight, cause 1 of of 4 you will get screwed. The best thing about this place is.... THE CAT! Lol Seriously though, its a very convenient place. They have a little bit of everything, including fresh produce at really cheap prices. Cleaning products if you feel like cleaning at 4am, beer, candy, organic foods, all kinds of breads, fresh flowers in case you wanna pick something nice up for your lady on your way home from a late night at work... hint hint hint gentlemen!! They have a nice selection of ice creams, drinks (beers, juices, milk, sodas, etc.) They sell cheeses, yogurts, even have salami if you want a super late sandwich and missed going to the supermarket across the street (which closes at 9:30 by the way.) The owner is very nice, very friendly all the time. The guys that work there are also very nice, they seem to always be stocking up, arranging the produce, or cleaning up which is wonderful. And the real best part of this place is that it is ALWAYS OPEN. I dont know how they do it but it's great and almost unheard of in this area of Queens. Now back to the cat, I love that cat. My bf and I always look for her to pet her and say hello. This is the best grocery store around! It is literally next door to a big supermarket, but somehow it is always popular. It is open 24/7, but the prices are very reasonable, not like other deli places. There is a very good selection of fresh vegetables and a decent selection of other foods and drinks. In addition, this store has all the small things in stock that one might need - from Advil to wasabi power.
