Ordered takeout for Christmas Eve. Have passed this place so many times but never ordered from here before. Decided to give them a try. We ordered Singapore Chow Mei Fun and some egg rolls. They said it would be ready in about 15 minutes. We ordered right before they closed but they said they would still be able to take our order. We promptly got there right before closing. They were super friendly when we got there and gave us a little trinket for the holidays, which was very nice. Our food was ready a few minutes after we got there. Got home and the serving of our meal was huge. Singapore Chow Mei Fun is noodles, chicken, shrimp, pork, veggies and and a nice spicy sauce. It was full of meat and veggies. It was spicy but manageable! The sauce was flavorful as well as the meats. It was very good! We definitely got a few meals out of it. Looking forward to trying more dishes here. They have an extensive menu of Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes. read more

I'm not sure why three positive reviews are not recommended and factored into the overall rating. I understand how Yelp works, but in this case, hiding those reviews seems odd. Maybe this one will get hidden, too? I hope not. So, this is not an upscale place, and to be fair, the bulk of my experience has been pandemic-related take-out/delivery, so I can't speak to the dining-in experience, though I've found that many Chinese places in this area are best suited to the take-away crowd. So, within my experience, I have been very pleased with Food Hing. Every now and then, I'm hit with an overwhelming need for Chinese food, and Food Hing more than satisfies. Delivery is quick, and the quality of the dishes are good. We haven't really ventured too far into the Japanese menu, save for a soba noodle dish we tried last night which was tasty, and a Bento box, though filled with more traditional Chinese items, which was also filling and enjoyable. I'm withholding a star simply because I haven't dined in. Food Hing isn't attempting to challenge your palette or offer you a new experience in Chinese cuisine, but they do what they do very well. In the last year, I've tried shrimp toast, dumplings, wonton soup, several chicken dishes, skewered beef, several noodle dishes, and I'll tell you what: I'm getting hungry for some more Food Hing just thinking about it. read more

Small portions and mediocre Japanese food. I don't know about their Chinese, but their sushi and Japanese leaves much to be desired. Gyoza was dried out. Shrimp tempura roll was full of lettuce. Sushi and sashimi entree left me hungry; only 6 small pieces of nigiri and 8 small pieces of sashimi. At least the fish was decent. Hamilton is a dead zone for good sushi. read more

What exactly does, "Food Hing," mean? The place was empty when I came in for a late lunch. The space was surprisingly large, but had a feeling of being neglected in terms of maintenance and cleanliness. The couple running the place seemed surprised that I wanted to eat in, but they brought me a menu and a pot of tea. I ordered Beef Chow Fun to see what they could do with a simple dish. It came out about ten minutes later. It looked good, but I could not believe that they gave me a cheap plastic fork (and nothing else) with which to eat it. It was not strong enough to pick up much, and demonstrated a disregard for customer service or even caring whether their meal could be consumed. Further, they clearly did not encourage dining in. The guy (chef?) served me and went immediately over to the large screen TV to play games, his job done. I asked him for chopsticks before the fork snapped from the strain. He got up, went into the kitchen and brought out a pair of wooden splinters for me, and retreated back to his game. I wondered how they handled a busy Saturday night, but realized they probably didn't have them. Take out was their thing, and they could load up those brown bags with crappy utensils and no one would think to complain about it. Thing was, the Chow Fun wasn't bad, and I could see if you didn't have to deal with the indifference of the management you could be satisfied with their product and not deal with the facility nor the owners. I guess it was easier for Food Hing to treat me like a take out customer than actually provide real service. So, they delivered the plate and fork and pretended I wasn't there. I got the super jade roll (which was spicy tuna roll w/ crunch and avocado on the outside) and one eggroll, it was super good!

The food was not good, will have to throw away half of the order because it was mixed with some kind of meat. Called to complain and they said their lunch special comes with pork fried rice. I told them there is no way to not select the rice on the site. Waste of $6 but learned not to order from here again. Also delivery took almost an hour and I live right around the corner from them, though they did apologize when I called to get a status. read more

*This review is for the sushi only.* The sushi here is comparable to, if not worse than, Shoprite sushi. They use way too much rice so it drowns out the flavor and makes the rolls so thick that you can barely eat them (sushi roll pieces are meant to be eaten in a single bite). This also made the rolls really sticky, which is not a good thing at all. The only good thing about my order was the ginger dressing, which was pretty good and the reason they got two stars and not just one. If you're looking for good sushi and you are in the area of this restaurant, my advice is to visit Best Choice on Route 33 in Hamilton instead. It is nearby and just so much better. I only ordered from here because they delivered to my area... but if that isn't a stipulation for you, just go to Best Choice. read more

Possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever had. General Tso had no flavor. I asked for extra spicy and it was not spicy in the least bit. Sesame noodles had no peanut flavor and no spice. While I must also mention that their new delivery driver is great as he made delivery fast, he is friendly and makes sure to call when he arrives. Had the spring roll and veggie dumplings from here the other night. One interesting thing about the veggie dumplings - they were green. Even though I had this as take out, the dumplings were still excellent and not soggy, and they were delicious. This might be my new favourite Chinese food place in the area for veggie dumplings. read more

There are many generic chinese restaurants in the area but this one is a cut above the rest. There is plenty of seating inside but most of their business is take out. It's definitely cleaner and better than the other chinese hole in the walls on Broad street. Their sushi is pretty decent as well. read more

I ordered delivery online. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes for the food to arrive. I called after waiting an hour and 20 minutes and they told me, "The driver is on the way, it must have been delayed due to ordering online." So, the food finally arrives and when I open the door, I get an enormous blast of cigarette smell from the driver. I set the food down and returned to it about 5 minutes later only to find out the food itself reeks of cigarettes, like the driver went on an hour and 40 minute chain-smoking joy ride with the windows closed and food engulfed. I called Food Hing and stated I wanted my money back due to the extreme wait and cigarette soaked food. The woman told me I could receive my money back if I DROVE AND DROPPED THE FOOD OFF TO THEM. I told them that was ridiculous and the driver could come back and pick it up if they really wanted the food back. She then agreed that she would refund the money. Not surprisingly, I never received this refund (a whole $16 was apparently not worth their reputation). I am shocked with this experience and will obviously not ever order food from this place again. read more

Had a not very good experience with Food Hing which really is a shame because it's so close to where I live. The sushi I have to say was good and reasonably priced, but the other chinese type food (fried rice, generals chicken) was not so good. Tasted maybe old? Like it had been cooked too long or on the stove for too long? Seasonings seemed off...Just not very good. read more

My go-to-local place for cheap and delicious sushi. I only ate there one time but plan to go back because the prices are so good and it's within a close drive to where I live. (I believe) they deliver up to 6 miles away which is nice, but doesn't benefit me in particular. Absolutely the worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to and had in my life. Got the general tso's chicken and it was absolutely disgusting. The chicken was rubbery and the sauce and taste was so awful. The white rice had a funny taste with a yellow tint to it. After a few bites I had to throw it away as I couldn't eat anymore because it was so nasty. I was obviously pissed, wasted my money and had to go out and get something else for dinner. We ate here when it first opened a number of years ago and thought the food was good. I thought it odd though that no one else really ever ate here, and it seemed to be more of a take out business. Over time, a good portion of the restaurant was taken over with toys and a play area, as others said. We recently decided to eat there again, and when we arrived the dining area was somewhat dark, other than some kids playing at a table. We asked if we could eat there and were told we could, but there was no service; meaning we had to order at the counter. My son wanted sushi, and I have to say we looked over at the sushi counter and it was filled with junk/trash. Nevertheless, we decided to order but opted for takeout rather than dine-in. What a disappointment! Our dinners were terrible, and the sushi was supermarket quality. As a local business, we certainly want this restaurant to do well, but the appearance, ambiance, and food quality need a lot of help. Until that happens, we'll head to Sun Lok Garden. read more
