Sean & Amanda were very great barkeeps. The place is a very friendly watering hole in Historic Bordentown. Small yet acoustically good for open-mike night. Food is excellent. Good IPA's Careful on parking, though Free, hard to find spaces on these narrow streets.

BORDENTOWN CITY: we are so happy a local told us about HOB Tavern because it is an awesome restaurant that is dog friendly! HOB Tavern is a cozy pub with one big bar that serves up American-style food, including vegetarian and vegan options. From wings, pretzels, tots, to burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more! They also do catering! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside, which is the best! It is a tight space around the bar, so have control of your pup so they do not get underfoot. There is also covered outdoor seating in the beer garden. The chicken cheesesteak and "big fat lie" vegan burger entree were delicious! Our server was also awesome! If we lived closer, this would be our hangout every day!

This place never fails to exceed expectations!! So many GREAT beers on tap, but the food is what draws Me in EVERY TIME!!!! The food is as good as you will find...ANYWHERE, ANYTIME AT ANY PRICE!!! plated perfectly as well. The bar is cool, has live music and great food. I'm from NJ and THIS PLACE is what is all about!!! I'm a truck driver and travel to all 48 and stop in all kinds of local bars.....This is by far, the best I've found in the entire United states!!!the beer, food and atmosphere. 2 thumbs up!!!

I've been wanting to try HOB for a few years and finally got here with a friend who lives in Btown and visits frequently. I'd say this is more of a drinking bar, than an eating bar, but the food I had was good too. I skipped the adult beverages as nothing tempted me, $8 for a 12-16 oz pour seems the going rate. We shared pirogies which were pretty good, deep fried but not oily and tasty potato filling. They are not homemade but also not frozen grocery store quality either. There didn't seem to be a burger on the menu so I ordered the steak sandwich, it was medium sized and came with very good fries. The beef was tender and with plenty of onions and cheese. It was good but I'd probably try something else on a future visit. I hear they have a burger night and daily specials so maybe a weekday visit would feature more options. I liked the vibe of the small bar and the employees demonstrated great customer service. I'd go back

The ambience was chill and the servers were very nice. One of the customers suggested the Hob Mac and they did not disappoint ! 10/10 and i don't usually like sweet potato stuff but them TOTS! Def worth it with the sauce the other burger was the burger of the week and I believe it had jalepeno on it but wasn't as good as the Hob Mac

Stopped into Hob tavern for Thursday Night Football... They have a Mac and Cheese Bowl night every Thursday night that has 8ish different Macs! Was greeted with smiles from Reese and Amanda when I walked in. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Bowl... 10/10 it's a house made Mac and cheese topped with Buffalo tenders and blue cheese crumbles. If you're in the area you gotta try this place!

When we 1st got there we couldn't find parking and then thought maybe we will go to the place around the corner but the food there didn't look as good ! As we were parking we found municipal parking So we just parked and walked ! Thank god we did !! The food was a small menu but that's ok it was amazing!! The wings are to die for! As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with a smile! Our bartender Mike was amazing very friendly and helpful! Even the other bartenders were nice ! It was nice to see that people still like there jobs ! Lol So glad we stopped in on our way though!!

Pb&j wings. Yea sounds crazy, it tastes CRAZY good.

What can I say that hasn't been said?? Ok, that's not how a review works, so let me just say this.... The service is really friendly. The vibe is spot on for a chill gathering with friends. Cocktails are worthy of ANY fancy cocktail bar in the city. Try em. And now for the wings. Those sweet glorious plump perfect crispy pieces of chicken. We did the garlic parm and pb&j wings. Both are solid 10s. Would I order pp&j everytime? No, but ANY time I bring someone new, gotta get em. Not too sweet, not too peanut buttery. Just perfect. Now I will order garlic parm EVERYTIME. So good. I'd like to try with Buffalo garlic parm, but my better half can't handle spice. Do yourself a favor, go and get anything from HOB. It WILL be scrumptious.

Came to HOB Tavern for the first time during covid times. We sat outside around one of the fire pits and they had lights up inside the tent so it was super cute! even though you're around a fire don't forget to dress warmly during the winter months! French onion soup was the perfect way to warm us up and we also got the spicy cauliflower, buffalo garlic parm wings, and a cowboy burger with fries. All of the food was delicious and I look forward to coming back here!

The folks over at the HOB say it's "where friends meet friends." Have to say they're right. At any given time you're likely to strike up a conversation with another patron. Not much drama here, just good times and good people. No matter who is on staff that day, you're welcomed in like a regular. However it comes across as genuine. So many other places have that fake happy - Not here. They have a pretty good rotation of items on tap. The food is some of the best in town. Don't get me wrong, it's not Toscano, but you'll get a solid bar meal. Wednesday night is Burger Night and they'll often throw in a specialty burger. Nowadays it's $10 for a burger with a wide variety of toppings, cooked to your liking with fries. Their wings are excellent with the Cowboy Sauce being my favorite. It's like a tangy Buffalo sauce. There's a bunch of vegan options, if that's your thing. However, there isn't any gluten free bread offered. No one would look at you crooked if you brought your own bun, though. The bar itself can get pretty crowded and there's limited outdoor seating. Either way you'll get some very heartfelt service from people who really care.

Nice little place with good service and great chicken wings . Only problem it that it doesn't look very clean :(

The only reason I didn't make this a five out of five was that I felt that it was very limited on the happy hour menu and wind up spending a lot more than I anticipated because we ordered off the regular menu in addition to just the hot wings and I'm not even sure if I drink choices. The beers were on the happy hour unless it was like two or three on tap so that was a little bothersome for me. It was hard to sort of follow what is and what Isn't but I think we'll give it a fair. Try one another time when Fifa games are not going on. We did order wings off the happy hour menu, but then from the regular menu I had the sesame tuna tacos instead of fries which I hate I had brussels sprouts but again there's an up charge to do that. My wife had the half cheesesteak she added sautéed peppers she added a chipotle. Aïoli and she also swapped out tater tots for whatever the fried choice was but everything was at an up charge. Food was tasty was good but again like I said I was coming for happy hour and I felt like I wasn't happy with the hour.

I haven't been to this site since it was Dublin Square which was a long time ago. Some of the layout changed. They no longer have the old bar separated from the dining area. Callie was our server and did a great job. I was there with some friends from SC. We started by ordering the large pretzel which comes out on a pretzel hanger along with some beer cheese for dipping. They also use that hanger for bacon. The pretzel was enough for 4 of us. I ordered the wings and selected Nashville Hot and Hog Sauce as my flavors. They claim they sell by the pound ($15.50) but it ends up being 8 wings. If you want to split flavors, they make it dry and bring the sauce on the side for dipping. Luckily the Nashville Hot is a dry rub. It was very good and not too spicy. The Hog Sauce is a combo of Buffalo and Garlic which was excellent. The wings themselves were plump, juicy and crispy. Five stars. Plenty of parking. Some tables available outside for outdoor seating when it ever gets nice in NJ. Bathrooms were very clean. You may find some little pink pigs around. Not sure if they're complimentary, but my wife took the one that was next to our table. My only complaint is they have too many of their draft beers designated for only 10 oz pours even with low ABV. I had a Kane Head High which was in a 16 oz glass. They also use OpenTable for reservations which I used as well.

There is an outdoor patio outside the front door, where you get an incredible view of rt 130…read more Inside there is a central square bar, with stools all around and tables of various sizes all around it in a u-shape. The kitchen dominates the back of the restaurant with a huge pizza oven and white tiles all around, and a clean bright fresh look, as you pass by to use the restroom. Overall it was fine but not incredibly memorable. We were seated at the strange 6-top table right inside the front door. Like people almost have to shimmy past you to get inside. The service was okay but not great. On the plus side, when we ordered something it came on the quicker side and also later in the meal the manager came by and checked on us. On the meh side there were long periods without being checked on by our server and I feel like I knew a bit more about the menu from reading it than they did. The best thing we ordered was the pretzel. The rest of the food was just alright. Bang bang cauliflower was crispy but battered in what actually tasted like a more dense funnel cake batter and had a twang of fryer oil that was on the cusp of needing to be changed. The sauce was flat. Cheesesteak egg rolls were not good. Soggy (again the fryer oil) and the prevailing flavor was green peppers. (Where I come from a cheesesteak guarantees shaved ribeye, American or Cooper sharp cheese and possibly fried onions but green peppers I would say crosses a line) Mozzarella sticks were mid. Truthfully the extremely long and skinny plates the apps came out on were just annoying. I'm sure the dish and kitchen staff can't stand washing them and plating the food on them either. Just buy some oval or round plates bruh. The cocktails were fine but uninspired. I ordered a peach old fashioned... Bulleit was the brand of bourbon and there was supposed to be peach bitters, peach syrup and "fresh peach" but it came out again a little on the underwhelming side without much peach flavor and the "fresh peach" nowhere to be found. (I expected perhaps a slice of fresh peach?) I didn't take a picture of the cocktail menu but I feel like it many have been like $16 for a subpar drink. Don't mind paying even $20 for a cocktail if it's executed correctly. We tried a blueberry mule off of the mocktails menu but asked to have Tito's added. It was good and properly served in a copper mug with a sprig of fresh mint. There was some live music, a guy singing and playing a guitar which was a nice touch. I appreciated that we could still have dinner conversation and the music wasn't dominating the room- it was more complimentary to the dining experience. In fairness our time there was all apps and some cocktails. We did not try the entrees. I wonder if they would have been executed upon at a higher level. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Had some neat (copper?) sinks with waterfall faucets. In a day and age where things are expensive, you gotta be firing on all cylinders to stand out as a place for folks to drop their hard earned money for a night out. It was alright here... But I don't know if I would choose to come back over other options. It landed between two and half stars and three stars for me.

The bartender allowed me to Airdrop my custom bridal shower playlist to an iPad that was connected to their surround sound speakers so I could play the music I intended to play.
