Blue cat salad. Good but a little too much dressings and toppings versus salad
    Mon T.

Went with a big group (reservation), good service. The tap wall was cool and I think a good value. Blue cat salad would have been better with less dressing and toppings (I never say this) and more lettuce. Got a little soggy. Tried the ribeye steak and it was just okay in my opinion. Wouldn't order again. The pork chop was delicious though! Of course I forgot to take pictures of the pork chop and steak.

While waiting in front of this restaurant, waiting for our friends, a young man came out and offered ous a free cup. We went inside and (Jason) brought over our coffee, with a cool creamer. Friends showed up and I ordered the Blueberry pasta. I enjoyed them and definitely liked Jason.

Passed by on the street, stepped in to check out the menu, figured why not. A realatively new place in Bordentown, has nice curb appeal, interesting menu and drink serving (will come back to this) scenario that is unique to the NJ region. Server, Monica was prompt to greet us and get us started but we needed time to acclimate and undersand how the menu worked, and think through our meal as we like to share courses as opposed to a singluar entree and we don't eat large portions. More about quality of food and memoral flavors. So, once we got that understanding we started with an appetizer of PEI Mussels in conconut curry, a very nice size for sharing and nice flavor profile as our go to is fra diavlo sauce with a kick. Love thai so this was a nice diversion that we enjoyed. Next my wife wanted to try a burger dish (I do not eat burgers), she got the french dip burger, NO bun and substituated for sweet potato fries. Sounds good right, salivating maybe... had a nice plate presentation but didn't deliver. The burger was just a step larger then a traditional fast food restauarnt and have not flavor (I did taste a bite). The waffle sweet potato fries while again looked awesome on the plate, overcooked, dry, no real taste of sweet potato in the fry. Have had much much better elsewhere. I saw a servier giving another table a melted marshmellow side to dip their sweet potato fries into.... odd but I guess maybe a Jersey thing? My wife inquired and was told not offered with sides but only with the larger portion. Saved us the extra calories. I ordered the strawberry & spinach salad with ahi tuna. A lovely plating presentation, certainly a large protion. My only criticism was the ahi tuna was over seared, hence overcooked, should have been more pink. About the beverage scenario, kudos to a place that is making wine and beer drinking fun by having a wall of taps. You give your credit card/debit card and get a card that you tap the tap wall with to make your selection and pour your self. Its a big money maker for them. I've spent a lot of time in NYC at a Belgium beer cafe bar by my office, where I learned about the proper vessels and pours for different beers. It does make a difference. Here, 1 type of glass, tilt and pour. No sampling, you pay for your sample. Basically pay by the pour now matter how little (a taste) verse full glass. My bill was $100 for a meal that maybe should hav been $70 or so? 1 app, 1 burger dish, my salad with tuni, 1 glass win and 2 beers with 2 quick pour tastes. I'm not cheap, we eat at nice places, we want a nice meal after cooking 5 nights a week. But there is also a value for what you get. Hence why I feel a 3 star is a fair review. You'll see over my 8 year history on Yelp that I lean more to 4s and hover at 5s often. But that's because I follow other Yelpers who I respect and share common food interests with. Have fun, enjoy yourself this place will do well. Others to explore.

    Fish & Chips, so delicious
    Mark D.

We went down to try this place as it had recently opened. We were promptly greeted and decided to eat inside (they do have outdoor seating for when the weather is nice) the atmosphere in the place was enjoyable and not too loud for 4 in the afternoon. The place did start to fill up as we were leaving but while we were there it wasn't loud at all. It looks very nice on the inside as well. I ordered some of their New England Clam Chowder, the Fish & Chips, and then the Blueberry Cobbler for dessert. The clam chowder was delicious, even though it was a bit more on the runnier side than I've enjoyed for a clam chowder. The fish & chips were some of the best I've ever had; full of flavor, with choice of cocktail or tartar sauce. Now the Blueberry cobbler.....100 stars out of 10! It came out nice and warm with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was very fresh and the perfect cap on a pleasurable meal.

Pretty cool spot! Brand new to downtown bordentown! Modern feel with a rustic tribute to the past. We didn't try the food. But the drinks were great! They have a drinks station where you can help yourself (it is regulated by the bar) but an awesome experience.

The lighted list of beer on tap
    Pea K.

Came here tonight. We used to frequent this space when it was Jesters. It's now called Bordentown Square. They have beer and wine on tap at a computerized bank self dispensary spigots. I saw they had a Dad's Hat Rye Old Fashion and since I just had my first Old Fashion at Dad's Hat PA and it was delicious, decided to try The Farnsworth ($14). Served in a martini glass, rather than in an old fashion cocktail glass. It was good. We had the Truffle Mushroom Glatbread and the Truffle Parmesan Balsamic wings. The wings were served on fresh bed arugula. Both dishes were delicious, fresh, and well-seasoned. Would have them again. The restaurant gives the impression of an upscale eatery with an affordable menu. This is definitely a date night destination for dinner and drinks or a place to meet for afterwork drinks and a bite!

    Spicy Thai Peanut Wings
    Mike P.

My wife and I came in for dinner with another couple and were excited to try this place. We frequented often when it was Jesters and it's clear the owners did a lot to makeover and update the space. Outdoor seating looks like a fun option in warmer weather. Inside is fresh and bright but also a little more cozy in the back dining room. Our server was attentive and gave us plenty of time to acclimate and peruse the menu. Our friends tried out the self serve beer/wine taps and they enjoyed it. You give your credit card and they provide a card from the restaurant that is then used to track your purchases. Neat concept. I started out with spicy Thai peanut wings. Large wings and the spice level was appropriate. The peanut sauce was also good. My main course was spectacular. I ordered the "bone in" pork chop and I was blown away. The description on the menu did not adequately describe the masterpiece that was delivered to the table. I would go back again just for this dish. Served on a bed of delicious Mac and cheese. The glaze on the pork chop was amazing and the meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. Really happy to see this spot back open and thriving! Hats off to the chef, we'll be back!

Heart of Bordentown! How wonderful, how tragic, how appropriate. If you grew up in America, you already know this place, even if you have never set foot in New Jersey. Sticky floors. PBRs at three dollars a pop. A shot roulette wheel. The smell of old beer and older hope. And a menu that could be printed on the back of a cocktail napkin: wings, burgers, fried somethings that used to be animals. Tofu even makes a cursory appearance. I ordered a whiskey and ginger ale, and they did not ask me what kind of whiskey, either because there was not a choice, or because in a place like this, the existential choice is always "yes." It came in a pint glass. Nine dollars. Heavy pour. Good enough for the likes of me. My wife asked for a vodka soda. "Is Tito's okay?" the bartender asked, displaying more concern for the quality of her spirit than the average congressman shows for the quality of his constituents. The regulars were loud, but they were not mean about it. A group of young women celebrated a birthday. The entire bar sang "Happy Birthday" with the ragged sincerity of a people who have seen too many Tuesdays. It was beautiful in a slightly tragic, terribly American way. In the midst of our singing, one bartender, still seemingly a bbit green behind the ears, forgot how to make a Malibu Bay Breeze. Cannot blame him. Our rendition was raucous. Or maybe he just was not built for tropical cocktails. In any case, what is remembered about a drink like that is not the technique, but the intention. Listen: if you come here, order a beer. Or a simple mixed drink, no more than two ingredients, no more dreams than that. Stick to the wings or the burger. Nachos if you're feeling adventerous. Expect nothing fancy, and you might just find yourself accidentally, briefly, happy.

The only reason I didn't make this a five out of five was that I felt that it was very limited on the happy hour menu and wind up spending a lot more than I anticipated because we ordered off the regular menu in addition to just the hot wings and I'm not even sure if I drink choices. The beers were on the happy hour unless it was like two or three on tap so that was a little bothersome for me. It was hard to sort of follow what is and what Isn't but I think we'll give it a fair. The drinks are expensive but the food is really expensive. A "pizette" which is a flatbread is very costly for what you get in my opinion. But with that said, they are really good. Same with their sandwiches and pastas. Expensive but generally good. Wit that said, I have found their food hit or miss. Sometimes it's really on and it's phenomenal. Other times it's average. So a bit inconsistent. The service is just okay. I have found the bartenders a bit aloof. But they do make mighty good drinks. My favorite thing is the sausage egg rolls. Highly recommend them. The pizza is also quite good. I will keep coming here but wish it was a little more reasonably priced.

I've lived in Byram all of my life and their food really isn't that good at all. It's subpar at best. There are at least 4 Italian restaurants within a stones throw from this place. I passed it on the way to my hotel and immediately decided it was a place I wanted to check out. I'll admit I was a little alarmed when I walked in and realized it was giving neighborhood bar energy instead of the chic bistro vibes is expecting. I happened to arrive during trivia night, and most of the patrons seemed really into it so it was much louder and rowdier than I anticipated. So much for a quiet dinner. I asked the hostess if I could be seated in a booth away from the activity, but even in a less crowded section, the atmosphere remained pretty overstimulating. In addition to the enthusiastic trivia-playing patrons, there were loud, animated conversations among various staff members, music playing from staff member's phone while music was already playing throughout the restaurant, and just a lot of competing noise. After a three-hour drive, I was really hoping for a glass of wine, a nice meal, and a more relaxed environment. That said, the staff were all incredibly friendly and pleasant. You could tell that they genuinely enjoy working there and enjoy each other's company, which made it difficult to be too annoyed. Eventually, I popped in my AirPods and dissociated so that I could focus on enjoying my meal. For dinner, the Chicken Francaise with a glass of the Italian Pinot Grigio (The name escapes me at the moment). The wine paired beautifully with the meal. The chicken itself was a fairly thick cut and cooked perfectly, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. I also would have loved to see some of the risotto sauce drizzled over the chicken because, while the texture was spot on, the flavor was a little underwhelming on its own. The green beans were excellent. Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and lightly seasoned. But the real star of the show was the Parmesan lemon risotto. That risotto is easily among the top three best risottos I've ever had. The brightness of the lemon combined with the creamy parmesan made for an absolutely unforgettable dish. I was genuinely disappointed that I couldn't finish it because every bite was fantastic. Honestly, I could have ordered a plate of that risotto by itself and left completely satisfied. While the atmosphere wasn't quite what I was looking for, the friendly service and that unforgettable delectable risotto made the visit worthwhile.
