Our server was very upbeat and pleasant. Food was very good. My major complaint was that a restaurant of this caliber would stoop to charging an extra dollar for a salted rim. Yes, my daughter ordered a Paloma with salted rim and our bill came with a dollar surcharge for salt. We were a party of 6 with a hefty bill and this completely turned me off. One of the best seafood restaurant we have had. We had oyster rockefeller and lobster mac and cheese - we added lobster tails on. For drinks: spa water and old fashion was solid! We love the lobster mac and cheese. Without the lobster tails add-on, we could see pretty generous amount of lobster pieces in the mac and cheese. We had honey miso seabass switched side to fried brussels sprout - tasted amazing! Paired so well with the crab risotto! The seabass just melted in your mouth and flavor was just umami, especially when eaten with the crab risotto. We also had scallops with crushed pistachios on top of crab risotto (upgraded from lobster risotto). The scalllops were perfectly cooked! My husband brought me here to celebrate 12 years of sobriety! It's a face of ours for the following reason- the food here is delicious! It never misses. I got the blackened grouper with Szechuan green beans and lobster risotto. Husband got the honey glazed seabass with Parmesan risotto. Omg both were out of this world. So glad I finally got to try this place. It was worth the wait. The food was amazing. I'm still bragging about it weeks later. Everything tasted so fresh and "melt in your mouth" quality. Started with appetizers of sweet Caroline sushi and crab dip. The dip was fantastic and came with little bread pieces, which were also good. The sushi was fun to try. Would probably try a different roll next time there but glad I tried as it was recommended. The espresso martini was made perfectly. Best one in awhile. Dinner was the blackened grouper which came with lobster risotto and green beans (which could be subbed with other if wanted). The grouper was smooth. Nicely seasoned, not too fishy. The lobster risotto was the star of the meal though. They had made reservations for a table outside, and it was very pleasant initially with the ability to people watch on the Monon Trail. Today, June 18th, was our first bad meal! We are so shocked by this. We have been eating here regularly for over four years. We generally order the same appetizers and entrees so we know the food. The clam chowder, which has been the best we've ever had, was so off from what it was! It was like bitter and rubbery. The key lime pie which has been great and that we always order when available and today it was for the first time in a while was completely different, crust filling and whipped cream. The coconut shrimp was off too. We are thinking that it was the sauce. I really don't know what to say about it. read more

Maybe she was busy with other tables, but even at the end, she came to our table twice asking about dessert when the first time we asked just for the check. We ordered a couple of cooked rolls - one was the Maui and I can't remember the second roll. Both were okay and didn't leave a lasting impression. We also ordered the grouper. Overall the grouper was good and we ended up taking the rest to-go. I was excited for the lobster risotto that came with it but when I ate the rest at home, bit into a shell. Very nice place in the cute little arts district of Carmel. I felt you could be very dressed up there or just a nice casual and be fine. The menu is interesting. So many different choices. We stuck with sushi and weren't disappointed. The two rolls were very creative and tasty. The poke bowl was packed with fresh ingredients.
