I usually try a place 3 times before I review. But small businesses need our help ASAP. So here goes. I Just had a delicious gourmet meal from another food truck. Don't tell Ralphie, shhhh! Yup! It exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind it's not in a visible spot, But finding it was half the fun. I want to thank Graham for being patient with me and my non social media self. I couldn't find a current menu because I only have Yelp. And he was kind enough to text me the menu. Awesome! Buuuuut I also popped his cherry! His Groupon cherry, that is. Hahaha! I was his first customer to use a Groupon. So the protocol was to call or text your order in advance and call when you get to the cone (yeah a cone, as in construction cone which you all know I live & breathe LOL) & he'll bring the food out to you. He called it a ghost kitchen. I thought he was referring to the Schmitt's farm haunted house & maze, but I was wrong. A ghost kitchen, he explained is a delivery-only restaurant. A food truck. Orders placed by phone are picked up by a delivery driver, or yourself and enjoyed off-premise. Now the food. Aaaaah the food. So FREAKIN' good! The shrimp w/ crispy potatoes didn't make it to Ruland Rd/Colonial Springs Rd. I was headed back home south of Sunrise Hwy. But those dayum shrimp with the lemon aioli were so good and the crispy potatoes with the sumac!? Channeling my native ancestry I've harvested wild sumac every year, it's getting harder to come by. But I digress. Even though I'm very familiar with sumac I've never used it on potatoes. I will now! Opened up a whole new taste profile for me. I love when that happens! Then I had the Grilled Flank Steak with Gorgonzola, Pickled Red Onion & Arugula. The steak was flavorful & tender. While the Gorgonzola enhanced the the steak without overpowering it and the crunch of the pickled onions & peppery arugula were perfect. I personally would've liked a little more steak but I won't quibble. And don't let me forget the fries. I'm not a big fry person but these were exceptional. Get 'em! But wait! I'm not done. I had to try the bread pudding. I mean how can I give a full review without all courses being tried? Crispy & creamy it was a great ending to a most delicious meal. Do it! In my opinion this is a spot worth travelling to. I don't say that about many places. But FNG gets my destination meal approval. I don't have FB, IG or any other social media but I do Yelp! It's rare that I find a taco to really blow me away. This was one of those rare times. Food Nation Generation's (FNG) crispy chorizo and potato taco was just that taco! Perhaps the best taco I've ever had. The truffle fries with it were terrific too. And at $13 for three (with regular fries), they're very reasonably priced. I also had the shrimp tacos that were excellent as well. Maybe could have used a third shrimp so there wasn't such a gap of just cheese, but the cheese they use is awesome so it really wasn't such a horrible problem (hope you can hear my chuckles from there). 2nd visit for me. The first time I came here I had the pork tacos which were delicious, great flavor. Today I saw on IG they had a surf and turf burger special so I had to get that for lunch! Came with a beef patty, grilled shrimp, lettuce, tomato and lemon aioli. The shrimp were huge! Burger was cooked perfectly medium rare. The lemon aioli tied everything together. I also had the warm churros with chocolate sauce. Little bites of heaven. I can't say enough about this food truck and the chef/owner Graham for putting out some really great food. AH- MAZE- ZING! I found this gem on Yelp while looking for lunch near my job! Foodnation Generation came up as a top choice on my feed causing my coworker and I to give them a try. What a great experience at Food Nation Generation! Now, let me preface by saying that our typical meal is not fried or covered in rich delicious sauces. So this was a real treat meal for us! My hubby parked and ordered over text. He's very picky and got all the sauces on the side. When the food was ready, it was brought out to his car, so easy!! What a great meal though. We tried 3 different dishes-- Korean Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich, Shrimp Tacos and Crispy Cheesy Chicken Tacos. Each dish was really well put together with plenty of food--tortillas perfectly grilled, shrimp plump and delicious, fresh cut crispy fries. Even the fried chicken sandwich was more meat than breading! It was spicy, sticky with sweetness and really amazing! The Korean fries that came with the chicken sandwich were so tasty with fresh radish, cilantro, spicy sauce and sesame seeds. I really enjoyed the green sauce that came with the shrimp tacos. I have to give a huge shout out to Brimont Bistro in Webster! A small restaurant with BIG flavor and personality!! We went there tonight with 16 women! Because of the number we preordered our entrees to give the kitchen plenty of notice. They could not have been more accommodating!! Our server, Brenna, was pleasant and agreed to separate checks!! All of our entrees were served at the same time and everyone raved about the food!! The owner/chef, Greg, helped refill water & clear plates. He even offered to take pictures for us!! This place was ridiculous. I don't write a lot of these, but when my daughter says, "that was the best food I've ever had!!" - you just have to. Burger was amazing. Been dying for one of those unique burgers you see on Food Network and this didn't let down. Had cheddar, bacon/onion jam, candied type bacon with a little zip to it and a fresh bun, not sure what kind of bun, but it wasn't some regular plain old bun. The whole thing worked. Tried the Korean fries. I was hesitant- personally not a big cilantro or radish fan, but I asked Chef Graham and he said, "it all works together". He wasn't lying. They were fantastic. My daughter had some too and was all smiles. I say 'Chef Graham' because this isn't like random, throw it together, god truck stuff. This is restaurant quality food made by an actual chef. Other than having one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had, they make these amazing Korean fries that are just LOADED with flavor. This is not like any food truck that I have ever been to. This is a gourmet restaurant on wheels. They take simple, comfort food concepts, and elevate them to such a degree that my meal rocked me to my core. My fusion cuisine experience was very filling, extremely delicious, and super affordable. The food was served quickly and loaded with fresh and high quality ingredients. It was all so good that I was too busy savoring each and every bite to even take a picture, but I did get a pic of the menu (see attached). The crispy, buttermilk fried, dark meat chicken, smothered in the sweet, Gochujang, honey glaze of the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich paired incredibly well with the freshness of the spicy Korean slaw on top. The Korean fries, covered in a delectable Gochujang aioli, have possibly ruined normal fries for me forever. And the churros, even now, my mouth waters at just the thought of those cinnamon sugar sticks of heaven. This is not your typical food truck with mediocre tasting food. The creative menu has your mouth watering the second you begin reading the chalkboard menu stand. I've eaten twice from here and both times I've been extremely satisfied. Actually, I've been blown away!! The food is fresh and flavorable. The FNG Burger is absolutely amazing!!! The jam and caramelized onions pairs real well with the cheddar cheese covered beef patty. A must are the Korean fries. That tasty Korean sauce makes you forget to add ketchup to the fries. I've tasted food from many food trucks throughout NYC, Brooklyn, and Jersey City and what separates this one from the pack is the quality in the ingredients and the uniqueness & fresh take on a menu. This truck has everything from chicken bahn-mi sandwiches to cauliflower tacos to korean style french fries to cuban sandwiches. O, that shredded pork shoulder on the cuban was delicious!! The Korean chicken sandwich is one of the best chicken sandwiches I ever had. I went back this week with my wife and she wanted to split the Korean Chicken sandwich and the Surf and Turf Burger. I wasn't originally interested in the burger but said fine... it was a great decision. A legit legit burger with pineapple shrimp and an aoli of some kind that was in my opinion even better than the chicken sandwich. They also let me order an order of Brussels sprouts with bacon.
